And
thou shalt say
unto Pharaoh,
Thus saith the LORD,
Israel is my son,
even my firstborn:
And
they shall put
my name
upon the children
of Israel,
and
I will bless them.
Ye are the children
of the LORD your God:
ye shall not cut yourselves,
nor make any baldness
between your eyes
for the dead.
And the LORD
hath avouched thee
this day
to be his peculiar people,
as he
hath promised thee,
and
that thou
shouldest keep all
his commandments;
And Moses
and the priests
the Levites
spake unto all Israel,
saying,
Take heed,
and hearken,
O Israel;
this day thou
art become
the people
of the LORD thy God.
Do ye thus requite
the LORD,
O foolish people
and unwise?
is not
he thy
father that
hath bought thee?
hath
he not made thee,
and established thee?
I will be
his father,
and
he shall be
my son.
If he
commit iniquity,
I will chasten him
with the rod
of men,
and
with the stripes
of the children
of men:
He shall build an house
for my name;
and
he shall be
my son,
and
I will be
his father;
and
I will establish
the throne
of his kingdom
over Israel
for ever.
In the fear
of the LORD
is strong confidence:
and his children
shall have
a place
of refuge.
Behold,
I and the children whom
the LORD
hath given me
are for signs and
for wonders in Israel
from the LORD
of hosts,
which dwelleth in mount Zion.
I will say
to the north,
Give up;
and to the south,
Keep not back:
bring my sons
from far,
and my daughters
from the ends
of the earth;
The people
of thy holiness
have possessed
it but a little while:
our adversaries
have trodden
down thy sanctuary.
But I said,
How shall
I put thee
among the children,
and give
thee a pleasant land,
a goodly heritage
of the hosts
of nations?
and I said,
Thou shalt call me,
My father;
and
shalt not turn away from me.
They shall come
with weeping,
and
with supplications
will
I lead them:
I will cause them
to walk
by the rivers
of waters
in a straight way,
wherein they
shall not stumble:
for I am
a father
to Israel,
and Ephraim
is my firstborn.
Then said God,
Call his name Loammi:
for ye
are not
my people,
and
I will not be
your God.
Yet the number
of the children
of Israel
shall be as the sand
of the sea,
which cannot be measured
nor numbered;
and it
shall come
to pass,
that in the place
where it
was said unto them,
Ye are not
my people,
there
it shall be said unto them,
Ye are the sons
of the living God.
Blessed are the peacemakers:
for they shall be called
the children
of God.
That ye
may be the children
of your Father
which is in heaven:
for he
maketh his sun
to rise
on the evil
and on the good,
and sendeth
rain on the just
and on the unjust.
Then shall
the righteous shine forth
as the sun
in the kingdom
of their Father.
Who hath ears
to hear,
let him hear.
But love
ye your enemies,
and do good,
and lend,
hoping
for nothing again;
and your reward
shall be great,
and
ye shall be the children
of the Highest:
for he
is kind
unto the unthankful
and to the evil.
But as many
as received him,
to them
gave
he power to
become the sons
of God,
even to them that
believe
on his name:
Which were born,
not of blood,
nor of the will
of the flesh,
nor of the will of man,
but of God.
And not for that nation only,
but that also
he should gather together
in one
the children
of God
that were scattered abroad.
For as many
as are led
by the Spirit
of God,
they are the sons
of God.
For ye
have not received the spirit
of bondage
again to fear;
but
ye have received
the Spirit
of adoption,
whereby
we cry,
Abba, Father.
The Spirit itself
beareth
witness
with our spirit,
that we
are the children
of God:
And if children,
then heirs;
heirs of God,
and joint-heirs
with Christ;
if so
be that
we suffer with him,
that we
may be also glorified together.
For the earnest expectation
of the creature
waiteth for the manifestation
of the sons
of God.
Because the creature itself
also shall be delivered
from the bondage
of corruption
into the glorious liberty
of the children
of God.
For whom
he did foreknow,
he also did predestinate
to be conformed
to the image
of his Son,
that he
might be the firstborn
among many brethren.
That is,
They which
are the children
of the flesh,
these are not
the children
of God:
but the children
of the promise
are counted
for the seed.
And will be
a Father
unto you,
and
ye shall be my sons
and daughters,
saith the Lord Almighty.
For ye are all
the children
of God
by faith
in Christ Jesus.
And
if ye
be Christ's,
then are
ye Abraham's seed,
and heirs
according to the promise.
To redeem them
that were under the law,
that we
might receive
the adoption
of sons.
And
because
ye are sons,
God hath sent
forth the Spirit
of his Son
into your hearts,
crying,
Abba, Father.
Wherefore
thou art
no more
a servant,
but a son;
and if a son,
then an heir
of God
through Christ.
Having predestinated us
unto the adoption
of children
by Jesus Christ
to himself,
according to
the good pleasure
of his will,
Now therefore
ye are
no more strangers
and foreigners,
but fellowcitizens
with the saints,
and of the household
of God;
That the Gentiles
should be
fellowheirs,
and
of the same body,
and partakers
of his promise
in Christ
by the gospel:
That ye
may be
blameless
and harmless,
the sons of God,
without rebuke,
in the midst
of a crooked
and perverse nation,
among whom
ye shine
as lights
in the world;
For it
became him,
for whom
are all things,
and by whom are all things,
in bringing many sons
unto glory,
to make the captain
of their salvation perfect
through sufferings.
For both
he that
sanctifieth
and they
who are sanctified
are all of one:
for which
cause
he is not ashamed
to call them brethren,
And again,
I will put
my trust
in him.
And again,
Behold I
and the children which God
hath given me.
For whom the Lord
loveth
he chasteneth,
and scourgeth every son whom
he receiveth.
If ye
endure chastening,
God dealeth with you as
with sons;
for what son
is
he whom
the father
chasteneth not?
Behold,
what manner
of love
the Father
hath bestowed upon us,
that we
should be called
the sons
of God:
therefore the world
knoweth us not,
because
it knew him not.
Beloved,
now are
we the sons
of God,
and it
doth not yet appear
what we
shall be:
but we
know that,
when
he shall appear,
we shall be like him;
for we
shall see him
as he is.
In this the children
of God
are manifest,
and the children
of the devil:
whosoever
doeth not
righteousness
is not of God,
neither he
that loveth not
his brother.
Ye are of God,
little children,
and have overcome them:
because greater
is he
that is in you,
than
he that is
in the world.
He that
overcometh
shall inherit
all things;
and
I will be
his God,
and
he shall be
my son.
