And shewing mercy
unto thousands of
them that love me,
and keep
my commandments.
Honour
thy father
and thy mother:
that thy days
may be long
upon the land
which the LORD thy God
giveth thee.
Wherefore
ye shall do
my statutes,
and keep
my judgments,
and do them;
and
ye shall dwell in the land
in safety.
And the land
shall yield
her fruit,
and
ye shall eat
your fill,
and dwell therein
in safety.
If ye
walk
in my statutes,
and keep
my commandments,
and do them;
Then I
will give
you rain
in due season,
and the land
shall yield
her increase,
and the trees
of the field
shall yield
their fruit.
And your threshing
shall reach
unto the vintage,
and the vintage
shall reach
unto the sowing time:
and ye
shall eat
your bread
to the full,
and dwell
in your land safely.
And
I will give peace
in the land,
and
ye shall lie down,
and none
shall make
you afraid:
and
I will rid evil beasts
out of the land,
neither shall
the sword
go
through your land.
And
ye shall chase
your enemies,
and
they shall fall
before you
by the sword.
And five of you
shall chase
an hundred,
and an hundred
of you
shall put ten thousand
to flight:
and your enemies
shall fall
before you
by the sword.
For I
will have
respect unto you,
and make
you fruitful,
and multiply you,
and establish my covenant
with you.
And
ye shall eat
old store,
and bring forth
the old
because
of the new.
And I set
my tabernacle
among you:
and my soul
shall not abhor you.
And
I will walk
among you,
and will be
your God,
and
ye shall be
my people.
I am the LORD
your God,
which brought
you forth
out of the land
of Egypt,
that ye
should not be
their bondmen;
and
I have broken
the bands
of your yoke,
and made you
go upright.
If they
shall confess
their iniquity,
and the iniquity
of their fathers,
with their trespass
which they
trespassed against me,
and
that also
they have walked contrary
unto me;
And that
I also have walked contrary
unto them,
and have brought them
into the land
of their enemies;
if then
their uncircumcised hearts
be humbled,
and they then
accept
of the punishment
of their iniquity:
Then will
I remember
my covenant
with Jacob,
and also my covenant
with Isaac,
and also my covenant
with Abraham
will
I remember;
and
I will remember
the land.
The land
also shall be left of them,
and shall enjoy
her sabbaths,
while she
lieth
desolate without them:
and
they shall accept
of the punishment
of their iniquity:
because,
even
because
they despised
my judgments,
and
because
their soul
abhorred my statutes.
And
yet for all that,
when
they be
in the land
of their enemies,
I will not cast them away,
neither will
I abhor them,
to destroy them utterly,
and
to break my covenant
with them:
for I
am the LORD
their God.
But
I will for their sakes
remember the covenant
of their ancestors,
whom
I brought forth
out of the land
of Egypt
in the sight
of the heathen,
that I
might be
their God:
I am the LORD.
Thou shalt keep therefore
his statutes,
and his commandments,
which I
command thee
this day,
that it
may go well
with thee,
and with thy children after thee,
and
that thou
mayest prolong
thy days
upon the earth,
which the LORD thy God
giveth thee,
for ever.
Hear therefore,
O Israel,
and observe
to do it;
that it
may be well
with thee,
and that
ye may increase mightily,
as the LORD God
of thy
fathers
hath promised thee,
in the land
that floweth with milk
and honey.
And it
shall come
to pass,
if ye
shall hearken diligently
unto my commandments
which I
command
you this day,
to love the LORD
your God,
and
to serve him
with all your heart
and
with all your soul,
That I
will give
you the rain
of your land
in his due season,
the first rain
and the latter rain,
that thou
mayest gather
in thy corn,
and thy wine,
and thine oil.
And
I will send grass
in thy
fields for thy cattle,
that thou
mayest eat
and be full.
Take
heed
to yourselves,
that your heart
be not deceived,
and
ye turn aside,
and serve
other gods,
and worship them;
Therefore shall
ye lay up
these my words
in your heart
and in your soul,
and bind them
for a sign
upon your hand,
that they
may be as frontlets
between your eyes.
And
ye shall teach them
your children,
speaking of them
when thou
sittest in thine house,
and when thou
walkest by the way,
when
thou liest down,
and
when
thou
risest up.
And
thou shalt write them
upon the door posts
of thine house,
and upon thy gates:
That your days
may be multiplied,
and the days
of your children,
in the land
which the LORD
sware unto your fathers
to give them,
as the days
of heaven
upon the earth.
Behold,
I set before you
this day
a blessing
and a curse;
A blessing,
if ye
obey
the commandments
of the LORD your God,
which I
command
you this day:
And a curse,
if ye
will not obey
the commandments
of the LORD your God,
but turn
aside out of the way which
I command
you this day,
to go
after other gods,
which ye
have not known.
And it
shall come
to pass,
when
the LORD thy God
hath brought thee in
unto the land
whither
thou goest
to possess it,
that thou
shalt put the blessing
upon mount Gerizim,
and the curse
upon mount Ebal.
Beware that
there be not
a thought
in thy wicked heart,
saying,
The seventh year,
the year
of release,
is at hand;
and thine
eye
be evil
against thy poor brother,
and
thou givest him
nought;
and he
cry
unto the LORD
against thee,
and it
be sin
unto thee.
Thou shalt surely give him,
and thine heart
shall not be grieved
when
thou
givest unto him:
because
that for this thing
the LORD thy God
shall bless thee
in all
thy works,
and in all
that thou
puttest thine hand unto.
For the poor
shall never cease
out of the land:
therefore I
command thee,
saying,
Thou
shalt open
thine hand wide
unto thy brother,
to thy poor,
and to thy needy,
in thy land.
But
thou shalt in any wise let
the dam go,
and take
the young
to thee;
that it
may be well
with thee,
and
that thou
mayest prolong
thy days.
When thou
cuttest down thine
harvest
in thy field,
and hast
forgot a sheaf
in the field,
thou shalt not go again
to fetch it:
it shall be
for the stranger,
for the fatherless,
and for the widow:
that the LORD
thy God
may bless thee
in all the work
of thine hands.
But
thou shalt have
a perfect
and
just weight,
a perfect
and just measure
shalt
thou have:
that thy days
may be lengthened
in the land
which the LORD thy God
giveth thee.
Wash you,
make you clean;
put away the evil
of your doings
from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil;
Learn to do well;
seek judgment,
relieve the oppressed,
judge the fatherless,
plead for the widow.
Come now,
and let us
reason together,
saith the LORD:
though your sins
be as scarlet,
they shall be
as white
as snow;
though they
be red like crimson,
they shall be
as wool.
If ye
be willing
and obedient,
ye shall eat the good
of the land:
But
if ye
refuse and rebel,
ye shall be devoured
with the sword:
for the mouth
of the LORD
hath spoken it.
Say
ye to the righteous,
that it
shall be well with him:
for they shall eat
the fruit
of their doings.
Behold,
the Lord GOD
will come
with strong hand,
and his arm
shall rule for him:
behold,
his reward
is with him,
and his work
before him.
He shall feed
his flock like a shepherd:
he shall gather the lambs
with his arm,
and carry them
in his bosom,
and shall gently lead
those that
are with young.
Thus saith the LORD;
Execute
ye judgment
and righteousness,
and deliver
the spoiled
out of the hand
of the oppressor:
and do
no wrong,
do no violence
to the stranger,
the fatherless,
nor the widow,
neither shed
innocent blood
in this place.
For if ye
do
this thing indeed,
then shall there enter in
by the gates
of this house
kings
sitting
upon the throne
of David,
riding in chariots and on horses,
he,
and his servants,
and his people.
Whosoever
therefore shall confess me
before men,
him will
I confess also
before my Father
which is in heaven.
Then said Jesus
unto his disciples,
If any man
will come
after me,
let him
deny himself,
and take up
his cross,
and follow me.
For whosoever
will save
his life
shall lose it:
and whosoever
will lose
his life
for my sake shall find it.
For what
is a man profited,
if he
shall gain
the whole world,
and lose
his own soul?
or what
shall a man
give
in exchange
for his soul?
For the Son
of man
shall come in the glory
of his Father
with his angels;
and
then
he shall reward every man
according to his works.
For the kingdom
of heaven
is like
unto a man
that is
an householder,
which went out early
in the morning
to hire labourers
into his vineyard.
And
when
he had agreed
with the labourers
for a penny a day,
he sent them
into his vineyard.
And he
went out
about the third hour,
and saw others
standing
idle
in the marketplace,
And
said unto them;
Go ye
also into the vineyard,
and whatsoever is
right
I will give you.
And
they went their way.
Again
he went out
about the sixth
and ninth hour,
and did likewise.
And
about the eleventh hour
he went out,
and found
others standing idle,
and
saith unto them,
Why stand
ye here
all the day idle?
They say unto him,
Because no man
hath hired us.
He saith unto them,
Go ye
also into the vineyard;
and whatsoever is right,
that shall
ye receive.
So when
even was come,
the lord
of the vineyard
saith unto his steward,
Call the labourers,
and give them
their hire,
beginning
from the last
unto the first.
And
when they
came
that were hired
about the eleventh hour,
they received every man
a penny.
But
when the first came,
they supposed
that they
should have received more;
and
they likewise
received every man
a penny.
And
when
they had received it,
they murmured
against the goodman
of the house,
Saying,
These
last
have wrought
but one hour,
and
thou hast made them
equal unto us,
which have borne
the burden
and heat
of the day.
But
he answered one
of them,
and said,
Friend,
I do
thee no wrong:
didst not
thou
agree with me
for a penny?
Take
that thine is,
and go thy way:
I will give
unto this last,
even as
unto thee.
Is it not lawful
for me to do what
I will with mine own?
Is thine
eye evil,
because
I am good?
So the last
shall be first,
and the first last:
for many
be called,
but few chosen.
Then shall
the King
say
unto them on his right hand,
Come,
ye blessed
of my Father,
inherit
the kingdom prepared
for you
from the foundation
of the world:
For I
was an hungred,
and
ye gave me meat:
I was thirsty,
and
ye gave me drink:
I was a stranger,
and
ye took me in:
Naked,
and
ye clothed me:
I was sick,
and
ye visited me:
I was in prison,
and
ye came unto me.
Then shall
the righteous
answer him,
saying,
Lord,
when saw
we thee
an hungred,
and fed thee?
or thirsty,
and gave thee drink?
When saw
we thee
a stranger,
and took thee in?
or naked,
and clothed thee?
Or when
saw
we thee sick,
or in prison,
and came
unto thee?
And the King
shall answer
and
say unto them,
Verily I
say unto you,
Inasmuch as
ye have done it
unto one
of the least
of these my brethren,
ye have done it
unto me.
Then shall
he say also
unto them
on the left hand,
Depart from me,
ye cursed,
into everlasting fire,
prepared
for the devil
and his angels:
For I
was an hungred,
and
ye gave me no meat:
I was thirsty,
and ye
gave me
no drink:
I was a stranger,
and
ye took me not in:
naked,
and
ye clothed me not:
sick,
and in prison,
and
ye visited me not.
Then shall
they also answer him,
saying,
Lord,
when saw
we thee
an hungred,
or athirst,
or a stranger,
or naked,
or sick,
or in prison,
and did not minister
unto thee?
Then shall
he answer them,
saying,
Verily I
say unto you,
Inasmuch as
ye did it
not to one
of the least
of these,
ye did it not to me.
And these
shall go away
into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous
into life eternal.
Then Jesus beholding him
loved him,
and
said unto him,
One thing
thou lackest:
go thy way,
sell whatsoever
thou hast,
and give
to the poor,
and
thou shalt have
treasure
in heaven:
and come,
take up the cross,
and follow me.
And
ye shall be hated
of all men
for my name's sake:
but
he that
shall endure
unto the end,
the same
shall be saved.
Blessed are ye,
when men
shall hate you,
and
when
they shall separate you
from their company,
and shall reproach you,
and cast
out your name
as evil,
for the Son
of man's sake.
Rejoice
ye in that day,
and leap for joy:
for,
behold,
your reward
is great
in heaven:
for in the like
manner
did
their fathers
unto the prophets.
But love
ye your enemies,
and do good,
and lend,
hoping
for nothing again;
and your reward
shall be great,
and
ye shall be the children
of the Highest:
for he
is kind
unto the unthankful
and to the evil.
To open their eyes,
and
to turn them
from darkness
to light,
and
from the power
of Satan
unto God,
that they
may receive forgiveness
of sins,
and inheritance
among them which
are sanctified
by faith
that is in me.
But glory,
honour,
and peace,
to every man
that worketh good,
to the Jew first,
and
also to the Gentile:
Now he that
planteth
and he
that watereth
are one:
and every man
shall receive
his own
reward
according to
his own labour.
For ye
had compassion of me
in my bonds,
and took joyfully
the spoiling
of your goods,
knowing in yourselves
that ye
have in heaven
a better
and an enduring substance.
For ye
have
need
of patience,
that,
after ye
have done the will
of God,
ye might receive
the promise.
Esteeming the reproach
of Christ greater riches
than the treasures
in Egypt:
for he
had respect
unto the recompence
of the reward.
Wherefore seeing
we also are compassed about
with so great
a cloud
of witnesses,
let us
lay aside every weight,
and the sin which
doth so easily beset us,
and let us
run
with patience
the race
that is set
before us,
Looking unto Jesus
the author
and finisher
of our faith;
who for the joy
that was set
before him
endured the cross,
despising
the shame,
and is set down
at the right hand
of the throne
of God.
Wherefore
we receiving
a kingdom which
cannot be moved,
let us
have grace,
whereby
we may serve God
acceptably with reverence
and godly fear:
Not rendering
evil for evil,
or railing for railing:
but contrariwise blessing;
knowing that
ye are thereunto called,
that ye
should inherit
a blessing.
For he
that will love life,
and see
good days,
let him
refrain
his tongue
from evil,
and his lips that
they speak
no guile:
Let him eschew evil,
and do good;
let him
seek peace,
and ensue it.
For the eyes
of the Lord
are over the righteous,
and his ears
are open
unto their prayers:
but
the face
of the Lord
is against them that
do evil.
Wherefore the rather,
brethren,
give diligence
to make your calling
and election sure:
for if
ye do
these things,
ye shall never fall:
For so
an entrance
shall be ministered
unto you
abundantly into the everlasting kingdom
of our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Fear none of those things which
thou shalt suffer:
behold,
the devil
shall cast
some of you
into prison,
that ye
may be tried;
and
ye shall have
tribulation ten days:
be thou faithful
unto death,
and I
will give
thee a crown
of life.
He that
hath an ear,
let him
hear
what the Spirit
saith unto the churches;
To him that
overcometh
will
I give
to eat
of the hidden manna,
and will give him
a white stone,
and in the stone
a new name written,
which no man
knoweth
saving
he that
receiveth it.
But
that which
ye have already
hold
fast
till I come.
And he
that overcometh,
and keepeth
my works
unto the end,
to him
will
I give
power
over the nations:
And
he shall rule them
with a rod
of iron;
as the vessels
of a potter
shall
they be broken
to shivers:
even as
I received
of my Father.
And
I will give him
the morning star.
And
I said unto him,
Sir,
thou knowest.
And
he said to me,
These
are
they which
came
out of great tribulation,
and have washed
their robes,
and made them white
in the blood
of the Lamb.
Therefore are
they
before the throne
of God,
and serve him day and night
in his temple:
and he
that
sitteth on the throne
shall dwell among them.
They shall hunger no more,
neither thirst any more;
neither shall
the sun light
on them,
nor any heat.
For the Lamb
which is in the midst
of the throne
shall feed them,
and shall lead them
unto living fountains
of waters:
and God
shall wipe
away all
tears
from their eyes.
And,
behold,
I come quickly;
and my reward
is with me,
to give
every man
according
as his work
shall be.
