Thou shalt not hate
thy brother
in thine heart:
thou shalt in any wise rebuke
thy neighbour,
and not suffer
sin upon him.
Let the righteous
smite me;
it shall be
a kindness:
and let him
reprove me;
it shall be
an excellent oil,
which shall not break
my head:
for yet my prayer
also shall be
in their calamities.
He that
reproveth
a scorner
getteth to himself shame:
and he
that rebuketh a wicked man
getteth himself
a blot.
Reprove not
a scorner,
lest
he hate thee:
rebuke a wise man,
and
he will love thee.
He is in the way of life
that keepeth instruction:
but he
that
refuseth
reproof erreth.
Whoso
loveth
instruction loveth knowledge:
but he
that
hateth
reproof is brutish.
Poverty
and shame
shall be
to him
that refuseth instruction:
but he
that
regardeth
reproof shall be honoured.
A fool
despiseth his father's instruction:
but he
that
regardeth
reproof is prudent.
Correction is grievous
unto him that
forsaketh the way:
and he
that
hateth
reproof shall die.
A scorner
loveth not
one that
reproveth him:
neither will
he go
unto the wise.
The ear that heareth
the reproof
of life abideth
among the wise.
He that
refuseth
instruction despiseth his own soul:
but
he that heareth reproof
getteth
understanding.
A reproof
entereth more
into a wise man
than
an hundred
stripes
into a fool.
Smite a scorner,
and the simple
will beware:
and reprove
one that
hath
understanding,
and
he will understand
knowledge.
When the scorner
is punished,
the simple
is made wise:
and
when the wise
is instructed,
he receiveth knowledge.
As an earring
of gold,
and an ornament
of fine gold,
so is
a wise reprover
upon an obedient ear.
Answer a fool
according to his folly,
lest
he be wise
in his own conceit.
Open rebuke
is better
than secret love.
Faithful are the wounds
of a friend;
but the kisses
of an enemy are deceitful.
He that
rebuketh a man
afterwards shall find more favour
than
he that
flattereth with the tongue.
It is
better
to hear the rebuke
of the wise,
than for a man
to hear the song
of fools.
They hate him that
rebuketh in the gate,
and they
abhor him that
speaketh uprightly.
Moreover if thy brother
shall trespass
against thee,
go and tell him
his fault
between thee
and him alone:
if he
shall hear thee,
thou hast gained
thy brother.
But
if he
will not hear thee,
then take
with thee one
or two more,
that in the mouth
of two
or three witnesses every word
may be established.
And
if he
shall neglect
to hear them,
tell it
unto the church:
but
if he
neglect
to hear the church,
let him
be unto thee
as an heathen man
and a publican.
Take heed
to yourselves:
If thy brother
trespass against thee,
rebuke him;
and if he repent,
forgive him.
And
if he
trespass
against thee seven times
in a day,
and seven times
in a day
turn again
to thee,
saying,
I repent;
thou shalt forgive him.
The world
cannot hate you;
but me it hateth,
because
I testify of it,
that the works
thereof are evil.
Am I therefore become
your enemy,
because
I tell
you the truth?
But speaking the truth
in love,
may grow up
into him
in all things,
which is the head,
even Christ:
And have no fellowship
with the unfruitful works
of darkness,
but
rather reprove them.
But all
things
that are reproved
are made
manifest
by the light:
for whatsoever doth make
manifest is light.
Finally,
my brethren,
rejoice
in the Lord.
To write
the same things
to you,
to me
indeed is not grievous,
but for you
it is safe.
Now
we exhort you,
brethren,
warn them that
are unruly,
comfort
the feebleminded,
support the weak,
be patient
toward all men.
Rebuke
not an elder,
but intreat him
as a father;
and the younger men
as brethren;
The elder women
as mothers;
the younger
as sisters,
with all purity.
Them that sin
rebuke
before all,
that others
also may fear.
Preach the word;
be instant
in season,
out of season;
reprove,
rebuke,
exhort
with all longsuffering
and doctrine.
This witness
is true.
Wherefore rebuke them sharply,
that they
may be
sound
in the faith;
But exhort one
another daily,
while it
is called To day;
lest any of you
be hardened
through the deceitfulness
of sin.
And
they that
dwell
upon the earth
shall rejoice over them,
and make merry,
and shall send gifts one
to another;
because
these two prophets
tormented them
that
dwelt
on the earth.
