The statutes
of the LORD
are right,
rejoicing
the heart:
the commandment
of the LORD
is pure,
enlightening
the eyes.
Who shall ascend
into the hill
of the LORD?
or who
shall stand
in his holy place?
He that
hath clean hands,
and a pure heart;
who hath not lifted
up his soul
unto vanity,
nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing
from the LORD,
and righteousness
from the God
of his salvation.
Purge me
with hyssop,
and
I shall be clean:
wash me,
and
I shall be whiter
than snow.
Iniquities
prevail against me:
as for our transgressions,
thou shalt purge them away.
Thy word
is very pure:
therefore thy servant
loveth it.
The thoughts
of the wicked
are an abomination
to the LORD:
but
the words
of the pure
are pleasant words.
Who can say,
I have made
my heart clean,
I am pure
from my sin?
The way of man
is
froward
and strange:
but
as for the pure,
his work is right.
There is
a generation
that are pure
in their own eyes,
and yet is not washed
from their filthiness.
Come now,
and let us
reason together,
saith the LORD:
though your sins
be as scarlet,
they shall be
as white
as snow;
though they
be red like crimson,
they shall be
as wool.
And I
will turn
my hand
upon thee,
and purely purge away
thy dross,
and take away all
thy tin:
And he
laid it
upon my mouth,
and said,
Lo,
this hath touched
thy lips;
and thine iniquity
is taken away,
and thy sin purged.
Many shall be purified,
and made white,
and tried;
but the wicked
shall do wickedly:
and none of the wicked
shall understand;
but the wise
shall understand.
Shall
I count them pure
with the wicked balances,
and with the bag
of deceitful weights?
But who
may abide
the day
of his coming?
and
who shall stand
when
he appeareth?
for he
is like
a refiner's fire,
and like fullers' soap:
And he
shall sit
as a refiner
and purifier
of silver:
and
he shall purify
the sons
of Levi,
and purge them
as gold
and silver,
that they
may offer
unto the LORD
an offering
in righteousness.
Blessed are the pure
in heart:
for they
shall see God.
Every branch
in me that
beareth not
fruit
he taketh away:
and every branch
that beareth fruit,
he purgeth it,
that it
may bring forth
more fruit.
Finally,
brethren,
whatsoever things
are true,
whatsoever things
are honest,
whatsoever things
are just,
whatsoever things
are pure,
whatsoever things
are lovely,
whatsoever
things are of good report;
if there be any virtue,
and if
there be
any praise,
think
on these things.
Now
the end
of the commandment
is charity
out of a pure heart,
and
of a good conscience,
and
of faith unfeigned:
Holding the mystery
of the faith
in a pure conscience.
Lay hands
suddenly
on no man,
neither be partaker
of other men's sins:
keep thyself pure.
If a man
therefore purge himself
from these,
he shall be a vessel
unto honour,
sanctified,
and meet
for the master's use,
and prepared
unto every good work.
Flee also youthful lusts:
but follow
righteousness,
faith,
charity,
peace,
with them that
call on the Lord
out of a pure heart.
Unto the pure all things
are pure:
but unto them that
are defiled
and unbelieving
is nothing pure;
but
even their mind
and conscience
is defiled.
For if
the blood
of bulls
and of goats,
and the ashes
of an heifer
sprinkling
the unclean,
sanctifieth to the purifying
of the flesh:
How much more
shall the blood
of Christ,
who through the eternal Spirit
offered himself
without spot
to God,
purge your conscience
from dead works
to serve
the living God?
For then
would
they not have ceased
to be offered?
because
that the worshippers once purged
should have had
no more conscience
of sins.
Draw nigh to God,
and
he will draw nigh
to you.
Cleanse your hands,
ye sinners;
and purify
your hearts,
ye double minded.
Seeing
ye have purified
your souls
in obeying
the truth
through the Spirit
unto unfeigned love
of the brethren,
see that
ye love one
another
with a pure heart fervently:
And every man that
hath
this hope
in him purifieth himself,
even as
he is pure.
