For it
is the day
of the LORD's vengeance,
and the year
of recompences for the controversy
of Zion.
And the streams
thereof shall be turned into
pitch,
and the dust
thereof into brimstone,
and the land
thereof shall become burning pitch.
It shall not be quenched night
nor day;
the smoke
thereof shall go up
for ever:
from generation to generation
it
shall lie waste;
none shall pass
through it
for ever and ever.
And many
of them that sleep
in the dust
of the earth
shall awake,
some
to everlasting life,
and some
to shame
and everlasting contempt.
Whose fan
is in his hand,
and
he will throughly purge
his floor,
and gather
his wheat
into the garner;
but
he will burn up the chaff
with unquenchable fire.
And fear not them which
kill the body,
but are not able
to kill the soul:
but
rather fear him which
is able
to destroy both soul
and body
in hell.
Wherefore
if thy hand
or thy
foot
offend thee,
cut them off,
and cast them
from thee:
it is
better
for thee
to enter
into life halt
or maimed,
rather than having two hands
or two feet
to be cast
into everlasting fire.
Then shall
he say also
unto them
on the left hand,
Depart from me,
ye cursed,
into everlasting fire,
prepared
for the devil
and his angels:
And these
shall go away
into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous
into life eternal.
But
he that
shall blaspheme
against the Holy Ghost
hath never
forgiveness,
but is in danger
of eternal damnation.
Whose fan
is in his hand,
and
he will throughly purge
his floor,
and will gather
the wheat
into his garner;
but the chaff
he will burn
with fire unquenchable.
And
shall come forth;
they that
have done good,
unto the resurrection
of life;
and
they that
have done evil,
unto the resurrection
of damnation.
Of the doctrine
of baptisms,
and
of laying on
of hands,
and
of resurrection
of the dead,
and
of eternal judgment.
He that
despised
Moses' law
died
without mercy
under two
or three witnesses:
Of how much
sorer punishment,
suppose ye,
shall
he be thought worthy,
who hath trodden
under foot
the Son
of God,
and hath counted
the blood
of the covenant,
wherewith
he was sanctified,
an unholy thing,
and hath done despite
unto the Spirit
of grace?
For we
know him
that hath said,
Vengeance
belongeth unto me,
I will recompense,
saith the Lord.
And again,
The Lord
shall judge
his people.
It is
a fearful thing
to fall
into the hands
of the living God.
The same
shall drink
of the wine
of the wrath
of God,
which is poured out
without mixture
into the cup
of his indignation;
and
he shall be tormented
with fire
and brimstone
in the presence
of the holy angels,
and
in the presence
of the Lamb:
And
the smoke
of their torment
ascendeth up
for ever
and ever:
and they
have
no rest day
nor night,
who worship
the beast
and his image,
and whosoever
receiveth
the mark
of his name.
And
again
they said,
Alleluia And her smoke
rose up
for ever and ever.
And the devil
that deceived them
was cast
into the lake
of fire
and brimstone,
where the beast
and the false prophet are,
and shall be tormented day and night
for ever and ever.
