But of the tree
of the knowledge
of good and evil,
thou shalt not eat of it:
for in the day
that thou
eatest thereof thou
shalt surely die.
Thou shalt have
no other gods
before me.
Thou shalt not make
unto thee any graven image,
or any likeness
of any thing
that is
in heaven above,
or that is
in the earth
beneath,
or that is
in the water
under the earth.
Thou shalt not bow
down thyself
to them,
nor serve them:
for I
the LORD thy God
am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity
of the fathers
upon the children
unto the third
and fourth generation
of them that hate me;
But
if ye
will not hearken unto me,
and will not do all
these commandments;
And
if ye
shall despise
my statutes,
or if your soul
abhor my judgments,
so that
ye will not do all
my commandments,
but that
ye break
my covenant:
I also will do this
unto you;
I will even appoint
over you terror,
consumption,
and the burning ague,
that shall consume
the eyes,
and cause
sorrow of heart:
and ye
shall sow
your seed
in vain,
for your enemies
shall eat it.
And I
will set
my face
against you,
and
ye shall be slain
before your enemies:
they that hate you
shall reign
over you;
and ye
shall flee
when none
pursueth you.
And
if ye
will not yet
for all
this
hearken unto me,
then
I will punish
you seven times more
for your sins.
And I
will break
the pride
of your power;
and I
will make
your heaven
as iron,
and your earth
as brass:
And your strength
shall be spent
in vain:
for your land
shall not yield
her increase,
neither shall
the trees
of the land
yield their fruits.
And
if ye
walk contrary
unto me,
and
will not hearken unto me;
I will bring
seven times more plagues
upon you
according to your sins.
I will also send wild beasts
among you,
which shall rob you
of your children,
and destroy
your cattle,
and make you few
in number;
and your high ways
shall be desolate.
And
if ye
will not be reformed by me
by these things,
but will walk contrary
unto me;
Then will
I also walk contrary
unto you,
and will punish
you yet seven times
for your sins.
And I
will bring
a sword
upon you,
that shall avenge the quarrel
of my covenant:
and
when
ye are gathered together
within your cities,
I will send the pestilence
among you;
and
ye shall be delivered
into the hand
of the enemy.
And
when
I have broken
the staff
of your bread,
ten women
shall bake
your bread
in one oven,
and
they shall deliver
you your bread
again by weight:
and ye
shall eat,
and not be satisfied.
And
if ye
will not for all
this
hearken unto me,
but walk contrary
unto me;
Then
I will walk contrary
unto you
also in fury;
and I,
even I,
will chastise
you seven times
for your sins.
And ye
shall eat
the flesh
of your sons,
and
the flesh
of your daughters
shall ye eat.
And
I will destroy
your high places,
and cut down
your images,
and cast
your carcases
upon the carcases
of your idols,
and my soul
shall abhor you.
And I
will make
your cities waste,
and bring
your sanctuaries
unto desolation,
and
I will not smell
the savour
of your sweet odours.
And I
will bring
the land
into desolation:
and your enemies
which dwell
therein shall be astonished at it.
And
I will scatter you
among the heathen,
and will draw
out a sword
after you:
and your land
shall be desolate,
and your cities waste.
Then shall
the land
enjoy her sabbaths,
as long as it
lieth desolate,
and
ye be
in your enemies' land;
even
then shall the land rest,
and enjoy
her sabbaths.
As long as it
lieth
desolate it
shall rest;
because
it did not rest
in your sabbaths,
when ye
dwelt
upon it.
And upon them that
are left alive
of you
I will send
a faintness
into their hearts
in the lands
of their enemies;
and
the sound
of a shaken leaf
shall chase them;
and
they shall flee,
as fleeing
from a sword;
and
they shall fall
when none pursueth.
And
they shall fall one
upon another,
as it were before a sword,
when none pursueth:
and ye
shall have
no power
to stand
before your enemies.
And
ye shall perish
among the heathen,
and
the land
of your enemies
shall eat you up.
And they
that
are left of you
shall pine
away
in their iniquity
in your enemies' lands;
and
also in the iniquities
of their fathers
shall
they
pine away with them.
And
thou shalt stone him
with stones,
that he die;
because
he hath sought
to thrust thee
away from the LORD thy God,
which brought thee
out of the land
of Egypt,
from the house
of bondage.
And all Israel
shall hear,
and fear,
and shall do
no more any such wickedness
as this is among you.
And all
the men
of his city
shall stone him
with stones,
that he die:
so shalt
thou put evil
away from
among you;
and all Israel
shall hear,
and fear.
But the eyes
of the wicked
shall fail,
and
they shall not escape,
and their hope
shall be
as the giving up
of the ghost.
For the work
of a man
shall
he render unto him,
and cause every man
to find according to his ways.
These things
hast
thou done,
and
I kept silence;
thou thoughtest that
I was altogether
such an one
as thyself:
but
I will reprove thee,
and set them
in order
before thine eyes.
God shall hear,
and afflict them,
even
he that abideth
of old.

Because
they
have
no changes,
therefore they
fear not God.
Also unto thee,
O Lord,
belongeth mercy:
for thou
renderest to every man
according to his work.
Because
I have called,
and ye refused;
I have stretched out
my hand,
and
no man regarded;
But ye
have set
at nought
all my counsel,
and would none of my reproof:
I also will laugh
at your calamity;
I will mock
when your fear cometh;
When your fear
cometh as desolation,
and your destruction
cometh as a whirlwind;
when distress
and anguish
cometh upon you.
Then shall
they
call upon me,
but
I will not answer;
they shall seek me early,
but
they shall not find me:
For that
they hated
knowledge,
and did not choose
the fear
of the LORD:
They would none of my counsel:
they despised all
my reproof.
Therefore shall
they eat
of the fruit
of their own way,
and be filled
with their own devices.
Though hand
join in hand,
the wicked
shall not be unpunished:
but
the seed
of the righteous
shall be delivered.
A man
shall be satisfied
with good
by the fruit
of his mouth:
and
the recompence
of a man's hands
shall be rendered unto him.
Every one
that is proud
in heart
is an abomination
to the LORD:
though hand
join in hand,
he shall not be unpunished.
Smite a scorner,
and the simple
will beware:
and reprove
one that
hath
understanding,
and
he will understand
knowledge.
When the scorner
is punished,
the simple
is made wise:
and
when the wise
is instructed,
he receiveth knowledge.
If thou sayest,
Behold,
we knew it not;
doth not
he that
pondereth
the heart
consider it?
and
he that
keepeth thy soul,
doth not
he know it?
and shall not
he render
to every man
according to his works?
A whip
for the horse,
a bridle
for the ass,
and a rod
for the fool's back.
He,
that being often reproved
hardeneth his neck,
shall suddenly be destroyed,
and
that without remedy.
Because
sentence
against an evil work
is not executed speedily,
therefore the heart
of the sons
of men
is fully set
in them to do evil.
Though a sinner
do evil
an hundred times,
and his days
be prolonged,
yet surely
I know that it
shall be well
with them that fear God,
which fear
before him:
But it
shall not be well
with the wicked,
neither shall
he prolong
his days,
which are as a shadow;
because
he feareth not
before God.
For it
is the day
of the LORD's vengeance,
and the year
of recompences for the controversy
of Zion.
And the streams
thereof shall be turned into
pitch,
and the dust
thereof into brimstone,
and the land
thereof shall become burning pitch.
It shall not be quenched night
nor day;
the smoke
thereof shall go up
for ever:
from generation to generation
it
shall lie waste;
none shall pass
through it
for ever and ever.
According to their deeds,
accordingly
he will repay,
fury
to his adversaries,
recompence
to his enemies;
to the islands
he will repay recompence.
Therefore thus
saith the LORD, Behold,
I will bring evil
upon them,
which they
shall not be able
to escape;
and
though they
shall cry unto me,
I will not hearken unto them.
Then said
the LORD
unto me, Though Moses
and Samuel
stood
before me,
yet my mind
could not be toward
this people:
cast them
out of my sight,
and let them
go forth.
I the LORD
search
the heart,
I try the reins,
even
to give every man
according to his ways,
and
according to
the fruit
of his doings.
And it
shall be,
if they
refuse
to take the cup
at thine hand
to drink,
then shalt
thou
say unto them,
Thus
saith
the LORD
of hosts;
Ye shall certainly drink.
For, lo,
I begin to bring
evil on the city
which is called
by my name,
and should
ye be utterly unpunished?
Ye shall not be unpunished:
for I will call for
a sword
upon all
the inhabitants
of the earth,
saith the LORD
of hosts.
Now is
the end
come upon thee,
and I
will send
mine
anger
upon thee,
and will judge thee
according to
thy ways,
and will recompense
upon thee all
thine abominations.
The king
shall mourn,
and the prince
shall be clothed
with desolation,
and the hands
of the people
of the land
shall be troubled:
I will do
unto them
after their way,
and according to
their deserts
will
I judge them;
and
they shall know
that I
am the LORD.
For thus
saith the Lord GOD;
I will even deal with
thee as thou
hast done,
which hast despised
the oath
in breaking the covenant.
According to
their uncleanness
and
according to
their transgressions
have
I done unto them,
and hid
my face
from them.
And many
of them that sleep
in the dust
of the earth
shall awake,
some
to everlasting life,
and some
to shame
and everlasting contempt.
Therefore the flight
shall perish
from the swift,
and the strong
shall not strengthen
his force,
neither shall
the mighty
deliver himself:
Neither shall
he stand that
handleth the bow;
and
he that is swift
of foot
shall not deliver himself:
neither shall
he that
rideth
the horse
deliver himself.
And
he that is courageous
among the mighty
shall flee away naked
in that day,
saith the LORD.
O LORD,
how long
shall
I cry,
and
thou wilt not hear!
even cry out
unto thee
of violence,
and
thou wilt not save!
Why dost thou
shew me iniquity,
and cause me
to behold grievance?
for spoiling
and violence
are
before me:
and there are that raise
up strife
and contention.
Therefore the law
is slacked,
and judgment
doth never go forth:
for the wicked
doth compass
about the righteous;
therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.
Neither their silver nor
their gold
shall be able
to deliver them
in the day
of the LORD's wrath;
but the whole land
shall be devoured by the fire
of his jealousy:
for he
shall make even
a speedy riddance
of all
them that
dwell
in the land.
But my words
and my statutes,
which I
commanded
my servants the prophets,
did
they not take
hold
of your fathers?
and they
returned
and said,
Like
as the LORD
of hosts
thought
to do unto us,
according to our ways,
and
according to our doings,
so hath
he dealt with us.
Whose fan
is in his hand,
and
he will throughly purge
his floor,
and gather
his wheat
into the garner;
but
he will burn up the chaff
with unquenchable fire.
But
I say unto you,
That whosoever
is angry
with his brother
without a cause
shall be
in danger
of the judgment:
and whosoever
shall say
to his brother,
Raca,
shall be
in danger
of the council:
but whosoever
shall say,
Thou fool,
shall be
in danger of hell fire.
And fear not them which
kill the body,
but are not able
to kill the soul:
but
rather fear him which
is able
to destroy both soul
and body
in hell.
For the Son
of man
shall come in the glory
of his Father
with his angels;
and
then
he shall reward every man
according to his works.
Wherefore
if thy hand
or thy
foot
offend thee,
cut them off,
and cast them
from thee:
it is
better
for thee
to enter
into life halt
or maimed,
rather than having two hands
or two feet
to be cast
into everlasting fire.
Ye serpents,
ye generation
of vipers,
how can
ye escape
the damnation
of hell?
Then shall
he say also
unto them
on the left hand,
Depart from me,
ye cursed,
into everlasting fire,
prepared
for the devil
and his angels:
And these
shall go away
into everlasting punishment:
but the righteous
into life eternal.
But
he that
shall blaspheme
against the Holy Ghost
hath never
forgiveness,
but is in danger
of eternal damnation.
Whose fan
is in his hand,
and
he will throughly purge
his floor,
and will gather
the wheat

with fire unquenchable.
And that servant,
which knew his lord's will,
and prepared not
himself,
neither did according to
his will,
shall be beaten
with many stripes.
But he
that knew not,
and did commit things worthy
of stripes,
shall be beaten
with few stripes.
For unto whomsoever much
is given,
of him shall be
much required:
and to whom men
have committed much,
of him they
will ask
the more.
And
shall come forth;
they that
have done good,
unto the resurrection
of life;
and
they that
have done evil,
unto the resurrection
of damnation.
And thinkest
thou this,
O man,
that judgest them which
do such things,
and doest the same,
that thou
shalt escape
the judgment
of God?
But he
that doeth wrong
shall receive
for the wrong
which he
hath done:
and there is
no respect
of persons.
How shall
we escape,
if we
neglect so great salvation;
which at the first began
to be spoken
by the Lord,
and was confirmed
unto us by them
that heard him;
Of the doctrine
of baptisms,
and
of laying on
of hands,
and
of resurrection
of the dead,
and
of eternal judgment.
He that
despised
Moses' law
died
without mercy
under two
or three witnesses:
Of how much
sorer punishment,
suppose ye,
shall
he be thought worthy,
who hath trodden
under foot
the Son
of God,
and hath counted
the blood
of the covenant,
wherewith
he was sanctified,
an unholy thing,
and hath done despite
unto the Spirit
of grace?
For we
know him
that hath said,
Vengeance
belongeth unto me,
I will recompense,
saith the Lord.
And again,
The Lord
shall judge
his people.
It is
a fearful thing
to fall
into the hands
of the living God.
See that ye
refuse not him
that speaketh.
For if
they escaped not
who refused him
that
spake on earth,
much more
shall not
we escape,
if we
turn away
from him that
speaketh from heaven:
The same
shall drink
of the wine
of the wrath
of God,
which is poured out
without mixture
into the cup
of his indignation;
and
he shall be tormented
with fire
and brimstone
in the presence
of the holy angels,
and
in the presence
of the Lamb:
And
the smoke
of their torment
ascendeth up
for ever
and ever:
and they
have
no rest day
nor night,
who worship
the beast
and his image,
and whosoever
receiveth
the mark
of his name.
And
again
they said,
Alleluia And her smoke
rose up
for ever and ever.
And the devil
that deceived them
was cast
into the lake
of fire
and brimstone,
where the beast
and the false prophet are,
and shall be tormented day and night
for ever and ever.
