And
I will put enmity
between thee
and the woman,
and between thy
seed
and her seed;
it shall bruise
thy head,
and
thou shalt bruise
his heel.
And
I will bless them
that
bless thee,
and curse him that
curseth thee:
and in thee
shall
all families
of the earth
be blessed.
The sceptre
shall not depart
from Judah,
nor a lawgiver from
between his feet,
until Shiloh come;
and
unto him shall
the gathering
of the people be.
Of the Rock
that begat thee
thou art unmindful,
and hast forgotten God
that formed thee.
The adversaries
of the LORD
shall be broken
to pieces;
out of heaven shall
he thunder upon them:
the LORD
shall judge
the ends
of the earth;
and
he shall give strength
unto his king,
and exalt
the horn
of his anointed.
For I
know
that my redeemer
liveth,
and
that he
shall stand
at the latter day
upon the earth:
His glory
is great
in thy salvation:
honour
and majesty
hast
thou
laid upon him.
For thou
hast made him most blessed
for ever:
thou hast made him
exceeding glad
with thy countenance.
For the king
trusteth in the LORD,
and
through the mercy
of the most High
he shall not be moved.
Sacrifice
and offering
thou didst not desire;
mine ears
hast
thou opened:
burnt
offering
and sin
offering
hast
thou not required.
Then said I,
Lo,
I come:
in the volume
of the book
it is written of me,
I delight to do
thy will,
O my God:
yea,
thy law
is within my heart.
I have preached righteousness
in the great congregation:
lo,
I have not refrained my lips,
O LORD,
thou knowest.
I have not
hid thy righteousness
within my heart;
I have declared
thy faithfulness
and thy salvation:
I have not concealed
thy lovingkindness
and thy truth
from the great congregation.
Thou hast ascended
on high,
thou hast led captivity captive:
thou hast received gifts
for men;
yea,
for the rebellious also,
that the LORD God
might dwell among them.
The stone
which the builders
refused
is become
the head stone
of the corner.
This is
the LORD's doing;
it is marvellous
in our eyes.
This is
the day
which the LORD
hath made;
we will rejoice
and be glad in it.
Blessed
be
he that
cometh in the name
of the LORD:
we have blessed you
out of the house
of the LORD.
And there shall come
forth a rod
out of the stem
of Jesse,
and a Branch
shall grow
out of his roots:
And
the spirit
of the LORD
shall rest upon him,
the spirit
of wisdom
and understanding,
the spirit
of counsel
and might,
the spirit
of knowledge
and of the fear
of the LORD;
And shall make him
of quick understanding
in the fear
of the LORD:

he shall not judge
after the sight
of his eyes,
neither reprove

But with righteousness
shall
he judge
the poor,
and reprove
with equity
for the meek
of the earth:

he shall smite
the earth:
with the rod
of his mouth,

with the breath
of his lips

he slay
the wicked.
And righteousness
shall be the girdle
of his loins,
and faithfulness
the girdle
of his reins.
The wolf
also shall dwell
with the lamb,
and the leopard
shall lie down
with the kid;
and the calf
and the young lion
and the fatling
together;
and a little child
shall lead them.
And the cow
and the bear
shall feed;
their young
ones shall lie down together:
and the lion
shall eat
straw like
the ox.
And the sucking child
shall play
on the hole
of the asp,
and the weaned child
shall put
his hand
on the cockatrice' den.
They shall not hurt nor
destroy
in all my holy mountain:
for the earth
shall be full of
the knowledge
of the LORD,
as the waters
cover the sea.
And in that day
there shall be
a root of Jesse,
which shall stand for
an ensign
of the people;
to it shall
the Gentiles seek:
and his rest
shall be glorious.
Therefore thus
saith the Lord GOD, Behold,
I lay in Zion
for a foundation a stone,
a tried stone,
a precious corner stone,
a sure foundation:
he that believeth
shall not make haste.
The voice
of him that
crieth in the wilderness,
Prepare
ye the way
of the LORD,
make straight
in the desert
a highway
for our God.
He shall feed
his flock like a shepherd:
he shall gather the lambs
with his arm,
and carry them
in his bosom,
and shall gently lead
those that
are with young.
Behold my servant,
whom
I uphold;
mine elect,
in whom
my soul delighteth;
I have put
my spirit
upon him:
he shall bring forth judgment
to the Gentiles.
He shall not cry,
nor lift up,
nor cause
his voice
to be heard
in the street.
A bruised reed
shall
he not break,
and the smoking flax
shall
he not quench:
he shall bring forth judgment
unto truth.
He shall not fail nor
be discouraged,
till he
have set judgment
in the earth:
and the isles
shall wait
for his law.
Listen,
O isles,
unto me;
and hearken,
ye people,
from far;
The LORD
hath called me
from the womb;
from the bowels
of my mother
hath
he made
mention
of my name.
And he
hath made
my mouth like
a sharp sword;
in the shadow
of his hand
hath
he hid me,
and made me
a polished shaft;
in his quiver
hath
he hid me;
And said unto me,
Thou art my servant,
O Israel,
in whom
I will be glorified.
Then I said,
I have laboured
in vain,
I have spent
my strength
for nought,
and in vain:
yet surely
my judgment
is with the LORD,
and my work
with my God.
And now,
saith
the LORD
that
formed me
from the womb
to be his servant,
to bring Jacob
again to him, Though Israel
be not gathered,
yet shall
I be glorious
in the eyes
of the LORD,
and my God
shall be
my strength.
And he said,
It is
a light thing
that thou
shouldest be my servant
to raise
up the tribes
of Jacob,
and
to restore the preserved
of Israel:
I will also give thee
for a light
to the Gentiles,
that thou
mayest be my salvation
unto the end
of the earth.
Thus saith the LORD,
the Redeemer
of Israel,
and his Holy One,
to him
whom man despiseth,
to him whom
the nation abhorreth,
to a servant
of rulers,
Kings
shall see
and arise,
princes also shall worship,
because
of the LORD
that is faithful,
and the Holy One
of Israel,

he shall choose thee.
Thus saith the LORD,
In an acceptable time
have
I heard thee,
and in a day
of salvation
have
I helped thee:
and
I will preserve thee,
and give thee
for a covenant
of the people,
to establish the earth,
to cause
to inherit the desolate heritages;
That thou
mayest say
to the prisoners,
Go forth;
to them
that are in darkness,
Shew yourselves.
They shall feed
in the ways,
and their pastures
shall be
in all high places.
They shall not hunger
nor thirst;
neither shall
the heat nor
sun
smite them:
for he
that hath mercy
on them shall lead them,
even by the springs
of water
shall he guide them.

I will make all
my mountains a way,

these shall come
from far:

these from the north

Incline your ear,
and come unto me:
hear,

an everlasting covenant
with you,
even the sure mercies
of David.

I have given him
for a witness
to the people,
a leader
and commander
to the people.
Behold,
thou shalt call
a nation
that thou
knowest not,
and nations
that knew not
thee
shall run
unto thee
because
of the LORD thy God,
and
for the Holy One
of Israel;
for he
hath glorified thee.
And he
saw that
there was
no man,
and wondered
that there was
no intercessor:
therefore
his arm brought salvation
unto him;
and his righteousness,
it sustained him.
For he put on righteousness
as a breastplate,
and an helmet
of salvation
upon his head;
and he put on
the garments
of vengeance
for clothing,
and was clad
with zeal
as a cloak.
According to their deeds,
accordingly
he will repay,
fury
to his adversaries,
recompence
to his enemies;
to the islands
he will repay recompence.
And the Redeemer
shall come
to Zion,
and unto them that turn
from transgression
in Jacob,
saith the LORD.
Go through,
go through the gates;
prepare
ye the way
of the people;
cast up,

up the highway;
gather out the stones;
lift
up a standard
for the people.
Behold,
the LORD
hath proclaimed
unto the end
of the world,
Say
ye to the daughter
of Zion, Behold,
thy salvation cometh;

his reward

and his work

Behold,
the days come,
saith the LORD,
that I
will raise
unto David
a righteous Branch,
and a King
shall reign and
prosper,
and shall execute judgment
and justice
in the earth.
In his days Judah
shall be saved,
and Israel
shall dwell safely:

his name
whereby
he shall be called,
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
In those days,
and at that time,
will
I cause
the Branch
of righteousness
to grow up
unto David;

he shall execute judgment
and righteousness
in the land.

wherewith

saith the LORD;
David shall never want
a man to sit
upon the throne
of the house

and to kindle meat offerings,

to do sacrifice continually.
I saw
in the night visions,
and,
behold,
one like the Son
of man
came
with the clouds
of heaven,

to the Ancient
of days,

him near
before him.
And there was given him
dominion,
and glory,
and a kingdom,
that all people,
nations,
and languages,
should serve him:
his dominion
is an everlasting dominion,
which shall not pass away,
and his kingdom that which
shall not be destroyed.
Seventy weeks
are determined
upon thy people
and upon thy holy city,
to finish
the transgression,
and
to make an end
of sins,
and
to make reconciliation
for iniquity,
and to bring in
everlasting righteousness,
and
to seal
up the vision
and prophecy,
and to anoint
the most Holy.
Know therefore
and understand,
that from the going forth
of the commandment
to restore
and
to build
Jerusalem
unto the Messiah
the Prince
shall be
seven weeks,
and threescore
and two weeks:
the street
shall be built again,
and the wall,
even in troublous times.
And
after threescore
and two weeks
shall
Messiah be cut off,
but not for himself:
and the people
of the prince
that shall come
shall destroy
the city
and the sanctuary;
and the end
thereof shall be
with a flood,
and unto the end
of the war desolations
are determined.
And
he shall confirm
the covenant
with many
for one week:
and in the midst
of the week
he shall cause
the sacrifice
and the oblation
to cease,
and for the overspreading
of abominations
he shall make
it desolate,
even until
the consummation,
and that
determined
shall be poured
upon the desolate.
And
I will shake
all nations,
and the desire
of all nations
shall come:
and I
will fill
this house
with glory,
saith the LORD
of hosts.
Hear now,
O Joshua
the high priest,
thou,
and thy fellows that
sit
before thee:
for they
are men
wondered at:
for,
behold,
I will bring forth
my servant the BRANCH.
Rejoice greatly,
O daughter
of Zion;
shout,
O daughter
of Jerusalem:
behold,
thy King
cometh unto thee:
he is just,
and having
salvation;
lowly,
and riding
upon an ass,
and
upon a colt
the foal
of an ass.
In that day
there shall be
a fountain
opened
to the house
of David
and to the inhabitants
of Jerusalem
for sin and
for uncleanness.
Behold,
I will send
my messenger,
and
he shall prepare
the way
before me:
and the LORD,
whom
ye seek,
shall suddenly come
to his temple,
even the messenger
of the covenant,
whom
ye delight in:
behold,
he shall come,
saith the LORD
of hosts.
But who
may abide
the day
of his coming?
and
who shall stand
when
he appeareth?
for he
is like
a refiner's fire,
and like fullers' soap:
And he
shall sit
as a refiner
and purifier
of silver:
and
he shall purify
the sons
of Levi,
and purge them
as gold
and silver,
that they
may offer
unto the LORD
an offering
in righteousness.
But unto you
that fear my name
shall the Sun
of righteousness
arise
with healing
in his wings;
and
ye shall go forth,
and grow up
as calves
of the stall.
But
while he
thought
on these things,
behold,
the angel
of the LORD
appeared unto him
in a dream,
saying,
Joseph,
thou son
of David,
fear not
to take
unto thee Mary thy wife:
for that
which is conceived
in her
is of the Holy Ghost.
And
she shall bring forth a son,
and
thou shalt call
his name JESUS:
for he shall save
his people
from their sins.
Now all
this was done,
that it
might be fulfilled
which was spoken of the Lord
by the prophet,
saying,
Behold,
a virgin
shall be
with child,
and shall bring forth a son,
and
they shall call
his name Emmanuel,
which being interpreted is,
God with us.
And
in the sixth month
the angel Gabriel
was sent
from God
unto a city
of Galilee,
named Nazareth,
To a virgin
espoused
to a man
whose name
was Joseph,
of the house
of David;
and the virgin's name
was Mary.
And the angel
came in
unto her,
and said,
Hail,
thou
that art
highly favoured,
the Lord
is with thee:
blessed art
thou among women.
And
when she
saw him,
she was troubled
at his saying,
and cast
in her mind
what manner
of salutation
this should be.
And the angel
said
unto her,
Fear not,
Mary:
for thou
hast found
favour
with God.
And,
behold,
thou shalt conceive
in thy womb,
and bring forth a son,
and shalt call
his name JESUS.
He shall be great,
and shall be called
the Son
of the Highest:
and the Lord God
shall give
unto him the throne
of his father David:
And
he shall reign
over the house
of Jacob
for ever;
and
of his kingdom
there shall be
no end.
Then said Mary
unto the angel,
How shall
this be,
seeing
I know not
a man?
And the angel
answered
and said
unto her,
The Holy Ghost
shall come upon thee,

the power
of the Highest
shall overshadow thee:
therefore also
that holy thing
which shall be born
of thee
shall be called
the Son
of God.
And,
behold,
thy cousin Elisabeth,
she hath also conceived
a son
in her old age:
and this
is
the sixth month
with her,
who was called barren.
For with God nothing
shall be impossible.
And it
came
to pass,
that,
when Elisabeth
heard
the salutation
of Mary,
the babe
leaped
in her womb;
and Elisabeth
was filled
with the Holy Ghost:
And
she spake out
with a loud voice,
and said,
Blessed art
thou among women,
and blessed
is the fruit
of thy womb.
And whence is
this to me,
that the mother
of my Lord
should come to me?
For, lo,
as soon as the voice
of thy salutation
sounded in mine ears,
the babe
leaped
in my womb
for joy.
And blessed
is she
that believed:
for there shall be
a performance
of those things
which were told her
from the Lord.
And it
was revealed
unto him
by the Holy Ghost,
that he
should not see death,
before he
had seen
the Lord's Christ.
Which thou
hast prepared before the face
of all people;
A light
to lighten the Gentiles,
and the glory
of thy people Israel.
And Simeon
blessed them,
and said
unto Mary his mother,
Behold,
this child
is set
for the fall
and rising again
of many
in Israel;
and for a sign
which shall be spoken against;
(Yea,
a sword
shall pierce
through thy own soul also,)
that the thoughts
of many hearts
may be revealed.
And she
coming in
that instant
gave thanks likewise
unto the Lord,
and spake of him
to all
them
that looked for redemption
in Jerusalem.
Your father Abraham
rejoiced to see
my day:
and he
saw it,
and was glad.
For Moses
truly said
unto the fathers,
A prophet
shall
the Lord your God
raise up
unto you
of your brethren,
like unto me;
him shall
ye hear
in all things
whatsoever
he shall say
unto you.
And it
shall come
to pass,
that every soul,
which will not hear
that prophet,
shall be destroyed from
among the people.
Yea,
and all
the prophets
from Samuel
and
those that
follow after,
as many
as have spoken,
have
likewise
foretold of these days.
(Which
he had promised afore
by his prophets
in the holy scriptures,)
Who is made,
not after the law
of a carnal commandment,
but after the power
of an endless life.
Then said he,
Lo,
I come to do
thy will,
O God.
He taketh away
the first,
that he
may establish
the second.
