And ye
returned
and wept
before the LORD;
but the LORD
would not hearken
to your voice,
nor give ear
unto you.
But the LORD
was wroth
with me
for your sakes,
and would not hear me:
and the LORD
said unto me,
Let it
suffice thee;
speak no more
unto me
of this matter.
They looked,
but there was none
to save;
even unto the LORD,
but
he answered them not.
Will
God hear
his cry
when trouble
cometh upon him?
There
they cry,
but none
giveth answer,
because
of the pride
of evil men.
Surely God
will not hear
vanity,
neither will
the Almighty
regard it.
They cried,
but there was none
to save them:
even unto the LORD,
but
he answered them not.
If I
regard iniquity
in my heart,
the Lord
will not hear me:
Because
I have called,
and ye refused;
I have stretched out
my hand,
and
no man regarded;
But ye
have set
at nought
all my counsel,
and would none of my reproof:
I also will laugh
at your calamity;
I will mock
when your fear cometh;
When your fear
cometh as desolation,
and your destruction
cometh as a whirlwind;
when distress
and anguish
cometh upon you.
Then shall
they
call upon me,
but
I will not answer;
they shall seek me early,
but
they shall not find me:
The sacrifice
of the wicked
is an abomination
to the LORD:
but the prayer
of the upright
is his delight.
The LORD
is far
from the wicked:
but
he heareth
the prayer
of the righteous.
Whoso stoppeth
his ears
at the cry
of the poor,
he also shall cry himself,
but shall not be heard.
The sacrifice
of the wicked
is abomination:
how much more,
when
he bringeth it
with a wicked mind?
He that
turneth away
his ear
from hearing the law,
even
his prayer
shall be
abomination.
And
when ye spread
forth your hands,
I will hide
mine
eyes from you:
yea,
when
ye make
many prayers,
I will not hear:
your hands
are full of blood.
I have not spoken
in secret,
in a dark place
of the earth:
I said not
unto the seed
of Jacob,
Seek
ye me in vain:
I the LORD
speak
righteousness,
I declare things that
are right.
But your iniquities
have separated
between you
and your God,
and your sins
have hid
his face
from you,
that he
will not hear.
Therefore thus
saith the LORD, Behold,
I will bring evil
upon them,
which they
shall not be able
to escape;
and
though they
shall cry unto me,
I will not hearken unto them.
When they fast,
I will not hear
their cry;
and
when they
offer
burnt
offering
and an oblation,
I will not accept them:
but
I will consume them
by the sword,
and
by the famine,
and
by the pestilence.
Then said
the LORD
unto me, Though Moses
and Samuel
stood
before me,
yet my mind
could not be toward
this people:
cast them
out of my sight,
and let them
go forth.
I will scatter
them as
with an east wind
before the enemy;
I will shew them
the back,
and not
the face,
in the day
of their calamity.
Also when
I cry and shout,
he shutteth out my prayer.
Therefore will
I also deal
in fury:
mine
eye
shall not spare,
neither will
I have pity:
and
though they
cry
in mine ears
with a loud voice,
yet will
I not hear them.
Son of man,
speak
unto the elders
of Israel,
and
say unto them,
Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Are ye come
to enquire of me?
As I live,
saith the Lord GOD,
I will not be enquired of
by you.
For when
ye offer
your gifts,
when
ye make
your sons
to pass
through the fire,
ye pollute yourselves
with all
your idols,
even unto
this day:
and shall
I be enquired of
by you,
O house
of Israel?
As I live,
saith the Lord GOD,
I will not be enquired of
by you.
They
shall go
with their flocks
and with their herds
to seek the LORD;
but
they shall not find him;
he hath withdrawn himself
from them.
Then shall
they cry
unto the LORD,
but
he will not hear them:
he will even hide
his face
from them
at that time,
as they
have behaved
themselves ill
in their doings.
Yea,
they made their hearts
as an adamant stone,
lest
they should hear
the law,
and the words
which the LORD
of hosts
hath sent
in his spirit
by the former prophets:
therefore came
a great wrath
from the LORD
of hosts.
Therefore it
is come
to pass,
that as he cried,
and
they would not hear;
so they cried,
and
I would not hear,
saith the LORD
of hosts:
And now,
I pray you,
beseech God that
he will be gracious
unto us:
this hath been
by your means:
will
he regard
your persons?
saith the LORD
of hosts.
Judah hath dealt treacherously,
and an abomination
is committed
in Israel
and in Jerusalem;
for Judah
hath profaned the holiness
of the LORD
which he loved,
and hath married
the daughter
of a strange god.
The LORD
will cut off
the man
that doeth this,
the master
and the scholar,
out of the tabernacles
of Jacob,
and him
that offereth
an offering
unto the LORD
of hosts.
And this
have
ye done again,
covering the altar
of the LORD
with tears,
with weeping,
and
with crying out,
insomuch
that he
regardeth not
the offering any more,
or receiveth it
with good will
at your hand.
Now we
know
that God heareth
not sinners:
but
if any man
be
a worshipper
of God,
and doeth his will,
him he heareth.
But let him
ask in faith,
nothing wavering.
For he that
wavereth
is like
a wave
of the sea
driven
with the wind
and tossed.
For let not
that man
think that
he shall receive any thing
of the Lord.
Ye ask,
and receive not,
because
ye ask amiss,
that ye
may consume it
upon your lusts.
Likewise,
ye husbands,
dwell
with them according to knowledge,
giving
honour
unto the wife,
as unto the weaker vessel,
and
as being heirs
together of the grace
of life;
that your prayers
be not hindered.
