Prayer in affliction

  Prayer in affliction
  GEN 32:11
   Deliver me,
      I pray thee,
         from the hand
            of my brother,
               from the hand
                  of Esau:
                     for I
         fear him,
      lest
         he will come
             and smite me,
      and the mother
          with the children.
  GEN 43:14
   And God Almighty
         give
            you mercy
          before the man,
      that he
         may send away
            your other brother,
      and Benjamin.

   If I
         be bereaved
            of my children,
      I am bereaved.
  EXO 17:4
   And Moses
       cried
          unto the LORD,
             saying,
          What
       shall
          I do
             unto this people?
          they be almost ready
         to stone me.
  NUM 20:16
   And
        when we
           cried
         unto the LORD,
      he heard
         our voice,
      and sent
         an angel,
      and hath brought
          us forth
             out of Egypt:
      and,
         behold,
      we are in Kadesh,
         a city
            in the uttermost
               of thy border:
  SA2 12:22
   And he said,
      While the child
         was yet alive,
      I fasted
         and wept:
            for I said,
      Who can tell
         whether GOD
            will be gracious to me,
      that the child
         may live?
  SA2 15:31
   And one
       told David,
          saying,
             Ahithophel is among the conspirators
                with Absalom.

   And David said,
      O LORD,
         I pray thee,
            turn the counsel
               of Ahithophel
              into foolishness.
  SA2 22:7
   In my distress
         I called
            upon the LORD,
      and cried
          to my God:
      and he
         did hear
            my voice
          out of his temple,
      and my cry
         did enter
            into his ears.
  KI1 8:35
   When heaven
         is shut up,
      and there is
         no rain,
      because
         they have sinned
            against thee;
      if they
         pray toward
             this place,
      and confess
          thy name,
      and turn
          from their sin,
      when
         thou afflictest them:
  KI2 19:16
   LORD,
      bow down thine ear,
         and hear:
      open,
         LORD,
      thine eyes,
         and see:
      and hear
          the words
             of Sennacherib,
      which hath sent him
          to reproach
             the living God.
  KI2 19:19
   Now therefore,
      O LORD our God,
         I beseech thee,
      save
         thou us
            out of his hand,
      that all the kingdoms
          of the earth
       may know that
          thou art
             the LORD God,
      even thou only.
  CH1 5:20
   And
        they
           were helped against them,
      and the Hagarites
         were delivered
            into their hand,
      and all
         that were with them:
            for they cried
               to God
              in the battle,
      and
         he was intreated of them;
      because
         they put
            their trust
         in him.
  CH2 14:11
   And Asa
       cried
          unto the LORD
             his God,
          and said,
             LORD,
                it is nothing
                   with thee
          to help,
             whether with many,
          or with them that
         have
            no power:
      help us,
         O LORD our God;
            for we rest
               on thee,
      and in thy
         name
        we go
           against this multitude.

   O LORD,
      thou art
          our God;
      let
         no man
             prevail against thee.
  CH2 20:12
   O our God,
      wilt thou
         not judge them?
            for we
         have
             no might against this
        great company
           that cometh against us;
      neither know we
         what to do:
      but our eyes
         are upon thee.
  CH2 33:12
   And
        when
            he was in affliction,
      he besought
          the LORD his God,
      and humbled himself
          greatly before the God
              of his fathers,

  NEH 4:4
   Hear,
      O our God;
         for we
       are despised:
      and turn
          their reproach
             upon their own head,
      and give them
          for a prey
              in the land
                  of captivity:
  NEH 9:32
   Now therefore,
      our God,
         the great,
            the mighty,
               and the terrible God,
      who keepest covenant
          and mercy,
      let not all
         the trouble
             seem little
          before thee,
      that hath come upon us,
         on our kings,
      on our princes,
         and
            on our priests,
      and
         on our prophets,
      and
         on our fathers,
      and
         on all thy people,
      since the time
          of the kings
              of Assyria unto this day.
  JOB 10:2
   I will say
          unto God,
      Do not condemn me;
         shew me wherefore
        thou
           contendest with me.
  JOB 13:21
   Withdraw thine hand far
          from me:
      and let not
         thy dread
             make me afraid.
  PSA 3:1
   Lord,
      how are
         they increased
            that trouble me!
      many are
         they that rise up
            against me.
  PSA 4:1
   Hear me
        when I call,
      O God
         of my righteousness:
      thou hast enlarged me
         when
            I was in distress;
      have mercy
          upon me,
      and hear
         my prayer.
  PSA 5:8
   Lead me,
      O LORD,
         in thy righteousness
            because of mine enemies;
      make thy way straight
          before my face.
  PSA 6:1
   O LORD,
      rebuke me not
          in thine anger,
      neither chasten me
          in thy hot displeasure.
  PSA 7:1
   O LORD my God,
      in thee
         do
        I put
           my trust:
      save me
          from all
              them that
                 persecute me,
      and deliver me:
  PSA 9:13
   Have mercy
          upon me, O LORD;
      consider my trouble which
         I suffer
            of them that hate me,
      thou
         that liftest me up
            from the gates
               of death:
  PSA 10:1
   Why standest
        thou afar off, O LORD?
      why hidest
         thou thyself
            in times
               of trouble?
  PSA 13:1
   How long
       wilt
          thou forget me,
             O LORD?
                for ever?
          how long
       wilt
          thou hide
             thy
        face from me?
  PSA 16:1
   Preserve me,
      O God:
         for in thee
            do
        I put
           my trust.
  PSA 17:1
   Hear the right,
      O LORD,
         attend
            unto my cry,
      give ear
          unto my prayer,
      that goeth not
          out of feigned lips.
  PSA 20:1
   The LORD
       hear thee
          in the day
              of trouble;
      the name
          of the God
              of Jacob
         defend thee;
  PSA 22:1
   My God,
      my God,
         why hast
        thou forsaken me?
      why art
         thou
        so far from helping me,
      and from the words
          of my roaring?
  PSA 25:1
   Unto thee,
      O LORD,
         do I
            lift
         up my soul.
  PSA 27:11
   Teach me thy way,
      O LORD,
         and lead me
            in a plain path,
      because of mine enemies.
  PSA 28:1
   Unto thee
       will
          I cry,
      O LORD my rock;
         be not silent to me:
      lest,
         if thou
            be silent to me,
      I become like
          them that go down
              into the pit.
  PSA 30:10
   Hear,
      O LORD,
         and have mercy
            upon me:
      LORD,
         be thou
            my helper.
  PSA 31:1
   In thee,
      O LORD,
         do I put
            my trust;
      let me
         never be ashamed:
      deliver me
          in thy righteousness.
  PSA 35:1
   Plead my cause,
      O LORD,
         with them that strive
            with me:
      fight
         against them that fight
            against me.
  PSA 38:1
   O lord,
      rebuke me not
          in thy wrath:
      neither chasten me
          in thy hot displeasure.
  PSA 39:10
   Remove
        thy
           stroke away from me:
      I am consumed
          by the blow
              of thine hand.
  PSA 40:13
   Be pleased,
      O LORD,
         to deliver me:
      O LORD,
         make haste
            to help me.
  PSA 42:9
   I will say
          unto God
             my rock,
      Why hast
         thou forgotten me?
      why go I
         mourning
        because
           of the oppression
              of the enemy?
  PSA 43:1
   Judge me,
      O God,
         and plead
            my cause
          against an ungodly nation:
      O deliver me
          from the deceitful
             and unjust man.
  PSA 44:4
   Thou art
          my King, O God:
      command deliverances
          for Jacob.
  PSA 50:15
   And call upon me
          in the day
              of trouble:
      I will deliver thee,
         and
        thou shalt glorify me.
  PSA 54:1
   Save me,
      O God,
         by thy name,
      and judge me
          by thy strength.
  PSA 55:1
   Give ear
          to my prayer,
      O God;
         and hide not thyself
            from my supplication.
  PSA 56:1
   Be merciful
          unto me, O God:
             for man
         would swallow me up;
      he fighting
         daily oppresseth me.
  PSA 57:1
   Be merciful
          unto me, O God,
      be merciful
          unto me:
             for my soul
                trusteth in thee:
      yea,
         in the shadow
            of thy wings
       will
          I make my refuge,
      until these calamities
         be overpast.
  PSA 59:1
   Deliver me
          from mine enemies,
      O my God:
         defend me
            from them that rise up
               against me.
  PSA 60:1
   O God,
      thou
         hast cast us off,
      thou hast scattered us,
         thou hast been displeased;
      O turn thyself
          to us again.
  PSA 61:1
   Hear my cry,
      O God;
         attend
            unto my prayer.
  PSA 64:1
   Hear my voice,
      O God,
         in my prayer:
            preserve my life
               from fear
                  of the enemy.
  PSA 69:1
   Save me,
      O God;
         for the waters
       are come in
          unto my soul.
  PSA 70:1
   MAKE HASTE,
      O GOD, TO DELIVER ME;
         MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME,
      O LORD.
  PSA 71:1
   In thee,
      O LORD,
         do I put
            my trust:
      let me
         never be put
            to confusion.
  PSA 74:1
   O God,
      why hast
         thou cast us off
            for ever?
      why doth
         thine anger
             smoke
                against the sheep
                   of thy pasture?
  PSA 77:1
   I cried
          unto God
              with my voice,
      even unto God
         with my voice;
      and he
         gave ear
            unto me.
  PSA 79:1
   O god,
      the heathen
         are come
            into thine inheritance;
      thy holy temple
         have
            they defiled;
      they have laid Jerusalem
          on heaps.
  PSA 80:1
   Give ear,
      O Shepherd
          of Israel,
      thou
         that
        leadest
           Joseph like
          a flock;
      thou
         that dwellest between the cherubims,
      shine forth.
  PSA 83:1
   Keep not
        thou silence,
      O God:
         hold
            not thy peace,
          and be not still,
             O God.
  PSA 85:1
   Lord,
      thou hast been favourable
          unto thy land:
      thou hast brought
         back the captivity
            of Jacob.
  PSA 86:1
   Bow down thine ear,
      O LORD,
         hear me:
            for I
       am poor
           and needy.
  PSA 88:9
   Mine
        eye
       mourneth
             by reason
                of affliction:
      LORD,
         I have called daily
            upon thee,
      I have stretched out
          my hands
             unto thee.
  PSA 89:50
   Remember,
      Lord,
         the reproach
            of thy servants;
      how I
         do bear
            in my bosom the reproach
               of all the mighty people;
  PSA 90:15
   Make us glad
         according to the days
        wherein thou
           hast afflicted us,
      and the years
         wherein we
             have seen evil.
  PSA 94:1
   O Lord God,
      to whom
         vengeance belongeth;
      O God,
         to whom
            vengeance belongeth,
      shew thyself.
  PSA 102:2
   Hide not
        thy face from me
           in the day
         when
            I am in trouble;
      incline thine ear
          unto me:
      in the day
         when I
             call
                answer me speedily.
  PSA 106:47
   Save us,
      O LORD our God,
         and gather
            us from
          among the heathen,
      to give
         thanks unto thy holy name,
      and to triumph
          in thy praise.
  ISA 3:2
   The mighty man,
      and the man
         of war,
            the judge,
               and the prophet,
                  and the prudent,
                     and the ancient,

  ISA 33:2
   O LORD,
      be gracious
          unto us;
      we have waited
          for thee:
      be thou
          their arm every morning,
      our salvation
          also in the time
              of trouble.
  ISA 64:1
   Oh that thou
       wouldest rend
          the heavens,
      that thou
         wouldest come down,
      that the mountains
         might flow down
       at thy presence,

  JER 10:24
   O LORD,
      correct me,
         but with judgment;
      not in thine anger,
         lest thou
       bring me
          to nothing.
  JER 15:15
   O LORD,
      thou knowest:
         remember me,
      and visit me,
         and revenge me
            of my persecutors;
      take me not
          away in thy longsuffering:
      know that
         for thy sake
        I have suffered rebuke.
  JER 16:19
   O LORD,
      my strength,
         and my fortress,
            and my refuge
               in the day
                  of affliction,
      the Gentiles
         shall come
            unto thee
               from the ends
                  of the earth,
      and shall say,
         Surely
       our fathers have inherited lies,
      vanity,
         and things
            wherein there is
               no profit.
  JER 18:19
   Give heed to me,
      O LORD,
         and hearken
            to the voice
               of them that
                  contend with me.
  LAM 5:1
   Remember,
      O LORD,
         what is come upon us:
      consider,
         and behold
            our reproach.
  DAN 6:10
   Now
        when Daniel
           knew
                that the writing
           was signed,
      he went into his house;
         and his windows
       being
             open
          in his chamber
              toward Jerusalem,
      he kneeled
          upon his knees three
       times a day,
          and prayed,
             and gave
       thanks
          before his God,
             as he
       did aforetime.
  JOE 1:19
   O LORD,
      to thee
         will
        I cry:
           for the fire
              hath devoured the pastures
                 of the wilderness,
      and the flame
         hath burned all the trees
            of the field.
  JON 1:14
   Wherefore
         they cried
            unto the LORD,
          and said,
             We beseech thee,
          O LORD,
             we beseech thee,
          let us
         not perish
            for this man's life,
          and lay not
             upon us innocent blood:
                for thou,
      O LORD,
         hast done
            as it pleased thee.
  JON 2:1
   Then Jonah
       prayed
          unto the LORD
        his God
           out of the fish's belly,

  MAT 8:25
   And his disciples
       came
          to him,
             and awoke him,
          saying,
             Lord,
          save us:
      we perish.
  MAT 14:30
   But
        when he
             saw
          the wind boisterous,
      he was afraid;
         and beginning
            to sink,
          he cried,
             saying,
          Lord,
             save me.
  MAT 15:22
   And,
      behold,
         a woman of Canaan
       came
          out of the same coasts,
      and
         cried unto him,
      saying,
         Have mercy
            on me, O Lord,
      thou son
          of David;
      my daughter
         is grievously vexed
            with a devil.
  MAT 26:39
   And
        he went a little farther,
      and fell
         on his face,
            and prayed,
          saying,
             O my Father,
                if it
         be possible,
            let this cup pass
               from me:
      nevertheless
         not as I will,
      but as thou wilt.
  MAT 27:46
   And
        about the ninth hour
           Jesus
              cried
          with a loud voice,
             saying,
          Eli, Eli,
             lama sabachthani?
          that is to say,
             My God,
                my God,
          why hast
        thou forsaken me?
  LUK 18:1
   And
        he spake a parable
           unto them
          to this end,
      that men ought always
         to pray,
      and not
         to faint;
  JOH 11:3
   Therefore his sisters
         sent unto him,
            saying,
          Lord,
             behold,
          he whom
        thou lovest
           is sick.
  ACT 4:29
   And now,
      Lord,
         behold their threatenings:
      and grant
         unto thy servants,
      that with all
          boldness
         they
             may speak
                 thy word,

  ACT 7:59
   And
        they stoned
           Stephen,
          calling upon God,
             and saying,
          Lord Jesus,
             receive my spirit.
  CO2 12:8
   For this thing
        I besought
           the Lord thrice,
      that it
         might depart from me.
  JAM 5:13
   Is any
          among you afflicted?
      let him pray.

   Is any merry?
      let him sing psalms.
  JAM 5:14
   Is any sick
          among you?
      let him
         call for the elders
            of the church;
      and let them
         pray over him,
      anointing him
         with oil
            in the name
               of the Lord:
  JAM 5:15
   And
        the prayer
           of faith
         shall save
             the sick,
      and the Lord
         shall raise him up;
      and
         if he
            have committed sins,
      they shall be forgiven him.
  JAM 5:16
   Confess your faults one
          to another,
      and pray one
          for another,
      that ye
         may be healed.

   The effectual fervent prayer
          of a righteous man
         availeth much.
