Deliver me,
I pray thee,
from the hand
of my brother,
from the hand
of Esau:
for I
fear him,
lest
he will come
and smite me,
and the mother
with the children.
And God Almighty
give
you mercy
before the man,
that he
may send away
your other brother,
and Benjamin.
If I
be bereaved
of my children,
I am bereaved.
And Moses
cried
unto the LORD,
saying,
What
shall
I do
unto this people?
they be almost ready
to stone me.
And
when we
cried
unto the LORD,
he heard
our voice,
and sent
an angel,
and hath brought
us forth
out of Egypt:
and,
behold,
we are in Kadesh,
a city
in the uttermost
of thy border:
And he said,
While the child
was yet alive,
I fasted
and wept:
for I said,
Who can tell
whether GOD
will be gracious to me,
that the child
may live?
And one
told David,
saying,
Ahithophel is among the conspirators
with Absalom.
And David said,
O LORD,
I pray thee,
turn the counsel
of Ahithophel
into foolishness.
In my distress
I called
upon the LORD,
and cried
to my God:
and he
did hear
my voice
out of his temple,
and my cry
did enter
into his ears.
When heaven
is shut up,
and there is
no rain,
because
they have sinned
against thee;
if they
pray toward
this place,
and confess
thy name,
and turn
from their sin,
when
thou afflictest them:
LORD,
bow down thine ear,
and hear:
open,
LORD,
thine eyes,
and see:
and hear
the words
of Sennacherib,
which hath sent him
to reproach
the living God.
Now therefore,
O LORD our God,
I beseech thee,
save
thou us
out of his hand,
that all the kingdoms
of the earth
may know that
thou art
the LORD God,
even thou only.
And
they
were helped against them,
and the Hagarites
were delivered
into their hand,
and all
that were with them:
for they cried
to God
in the battle,
and
he was intreated of them;
because
they put
their trust
in him.
And Asa
cried
unto the LORD
his God,
and said,
LORD,
it is nothing
with thee
to help,
whether with many,
or with them that
have
no power:
help us,
O LORD our God;
for we rest
on thee,
and in thy
name
we go
against this multitude.
O LORD,
thou art
our God;
let
no man
prevail against thee.
O our God,
wilt thou
not judge them?
for we
have
no might against this
great company
that cometh against us;
neither know we
what to do:
but our eyes
are upon thee.
And
when
he was in affliction,
he besought
the LORD his God,
and humbled himself
greatly before the God
of his fathers,
Hear,
O our God;
for we
are despised:
and turn
their reproach
upon their own head,
and give them
for a prey
in the land
of captivity:
Now therefore,
our God,
the great,
the mighty,
and the terrible God,
who keepest covenant
and mercy,
let not all
the trouble
seem little
before thee,
that hath come upon us,
on our kings,
on our princes,
and
on our priests,
and
on our prophets,
and
on our fathers,
and
on all thy people,
since the time
of the kings
of Assyria unto this day.
I will say
unto God,
Do not condemn me;
shew me wherefore
thou
contendest with me.
Withdraw thine hand far
from me:
and let not
thy dread
make me afraid.
Lord,
how are
they increased
that trouble me!
many are
they that rise up
against me.
Hear me
when I call,
O God
of my righteousness:
thou hast enlarged me
when
I was in distress;
have mercy
upon me,
and hear
my prayer.
Lead me,
O LORD,
in thy righteousness
because of mine enemies;
make thy way straight
before my face.
O LORD,
rebuke me not
in thine anger,
neither chasten me
in thy hot displeasure.
O LORD my God,
in thee
do
I put
my trust:
save me
from all
them that
persecute me,
and deliver me:
Have mercy
upon me, O LORD;
consider my trouble which
I suffer
of them that hate me,
thou
that liftest me up
from the gates
of death:
Why standest
thou afar off, O LORD?
why hidest
thou thyself
in times
of trouble?
How long
wilt
thou forget me,
O LORD?
for ever?
how long
wilt
thou hide
thy
face from me?
Preserve me,
O God:
for in thee
do
I put
my trust.
Hear the right,
O LORD,
attend
unto my cry,
give ear
unto my prayer,
that goeth not
out of feigned lips.
The LORD
hear thee
in the day
of trouble;
the name
of the God
of Jacob
defend thee;
My God,
my God,
why hast
thou forsaken me?
why art
thou
so far from helping me,
and from the words
of my roaring?
Unto thee,
O LORD,
do I
lift
up my soul.
Teach me thy way,
O LORD,
and lead me
in a plain path,
because of mine enemies.
Unto thee
will
I cry,
O LORD my rock;
be not silent to me:
lest,
if thou
be silent to me,
I become like
them that go down
into the pit.
Hear,
O LORD,
and have mercy
upon me:
LORD,
be thou
my helper.
In thee,
O LORD,
do I put
my trust;
let me
never be ashamed:
deliver me
in thy righteousness.
Plead my cause,
O LORD,
with them that strive
with me:
fight
against them that fight
against me.
O lord,
rebuke me not
in thy wrath:
neither chasten me
in thy hot displeasure.
Remove
thy
stroke away from me:
I am consumed
by the blow
of thine hand.
Be pleased,
O LORD,
to deliver me:
O LORD,
make haste
to help me.
I will say
unto God
my rock,
Why hast
thou forgotten me?
why go I
mourning
because
of the oppression
of the enemy?
Judge me,
O God,
and plead
my cause
against an ungodly nation:
O deliver me
from the deceitful
and unjust man.
Thou art
my King, O God:
command deliverances
for Jacob.
And call upon me
in the day
of trouble:
I will deliver thee,
and
thou shalt glorify me.
Save me,
O God,
by thy name,
and judge me
by thy strength.
Give ear
to my prayer,
O God;
and hide not thyself
from my supplication.
Be merciful
unto me, O God:
for man
would swallow me up;
he fighting
daily oppresseth me.
Be merciful
unto me, O God,
be merciful
unto me:
for my soul
trusteth in thee:
yea,
in the shadow
of thy wings
will
I make my refuge,
until these calamities
be overpast.
Deliver me
from mine enemies,
O my God:
defend me
from them that rise up
against me.
O God,
thou
hast cast us off,
thou hast scattered us,
thou hast been displeased;
O turn thyself
to us again.
Hear my cry,
O God;
attend
unto my prayer.
Hear my voice,
O God,
in my prayer:
preserve my life
from fear
of the enemy.
Save me,
O God;
for the waters
are come in
unto my soul.
MAKE HASTE,
O GOD, TO DELIVER ME;
MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME,
O LORD.
In thee,
O LORD,
do I put
my trust:
let me
never be put
to confusion.
O God,
why hast
thou cast us off
for ever?
why doth
thine anger
smoke
against the sheep
of thy pasture?
I cried
unto God
with my voice,
even unto God
with my voice;
and he
gave ear
unto me.
O god,
the heathen
are come
into thine inheritance;
thy holy temple
have
they defiled;
they have laid Jerusalem
on heaps.
Give ear,
O Shepherd
of Israel,
thou
that
leadest
Joseph like
a flock;
thou
that dwellest between the cherubims,
shine forth.
Keep not
thou silence,
O God:
hold
not thy peace,
and be not still,
O God.
Lord,
thou hast been favourable
unto thy land:
thou hast brought
back the captivity
of Jacob.
Bow down thine ear,
O LORD,
hear me:
for I
am poor
and needy.
Mine
eye
mourneth
by reason
of affliction:
LORD,
I have called daily
upon thee,
I have stretched out
my hands
unto thee.
Remember,
Lord,
the reproach
of thy servants;
how I
do bear
in my bosom the reproach
of all the mighty people;
Make us glad
according to the days
wherein thou
hast afflicted us,
and the years
wherein we
have seen evil.
O Lord God,
to whom
vengeance belongeth;
O God,
to whom
vengeance belongeth,
shew thyself.
Hide not
thy face from me
in the day
when
I am in trouble;
incline thine ear
unto me:
in the day
when I
call
answer me speedily.
Save us,
O LORD our God,
and gather
us from
among the heathen,
to give
thanks unto thy holy name,
and to triumph
in thy praise.
The mighty man,
and the man
of war,
the judge,
and the prophet,
and the prudent,
and the ancient,
O LORD,
be gracious
unto us;
we have waited
for thee:
be thou
their arm every morning,
our salvation
also in the time
of trouble.
Oh that thou
wouldest rend
the heavens,
that thou
wouldest come down,
that the mountains
might flow down
at thy presence,
O LORD,
correct me,
but with judgment;
not in thine anger,
lest thou
bring me
to nothing.
O LORD,
thou knowest:
remember me,
and visit me,
and revenge me
of my persecutors;
take me not
away in thy longsuffering:
know that
for thy sake
I have suffered rebuke.
O LORD,
my strength,
and my fortress,
and my refuge
in the day
of affliction,
the Gentiles
shall come
unto thee
from the ends
of the earth,
and shall say,
Surely
our fathers have inherited lies,
vanity,
and things
wherein there is
no profit.
Give heed to me,
O LORD,
and hearken
to the voice
of them that
contend with me.
Remember,
O LORD,
what is come upon us:
consider,
and behold
our reproach.
Now
when Daniel
knew
that the writing
was signed,
he went into his house;
and his windows
being
open
in his chamber
toward Jerusalem,
he kneeled
upon his knees three
times a day,
and prayed,
and gave
thanks
before his God,
as he
did aforetime.
O LORD,
to thee
will
I cry:
for the fire
hath devoured the pastures
of the wilderness,
and the flame
hath burned all the trees
of the field.
Wherefore
they cried
unto the LORD,
and said,
We beseech thee,
O LORD,
we beseech thee,
let us
not perish
for this man's life,
and lay not
upon us innocent blood:
for thou,
O LORD,
hast done
as it pleased thee.
Then Jonah
prayed
unto the LORD
his God
out of the fish's belly,
And his disciples
came
to him,
and awoke him,
saying,
Lord,
save us:
we perish.
But
when he
saw
the wind boisterous,
he was afraid;
and beginning
to sink,
he cried,
saying,
Lord,
save me.
And,
behold,
a woman of Canaan
came
out of the same coasts,
and
cried unto him,
saying,
Have mercy
on me, O Lord,
thou son
of David;
my daughter
is grievously vexed
with a devil.
And
he went a little farther,
and fell
on his face,
and prayed,
saying,
O my Father,
if it
be possible,
let this cup pass
from me:
nevertheless
not as I will,
but as thou wilt.
And
about the ninth hour
Jesus
cried
with a loud voice,
saying,
Eli, Eli,
lama sabachthani?
that is to say,
My God,
my God,
why hast
thou forsaken me?
And
he spake a parable
unto them
to this end,
that men ought always
to pray,
and not
to faint;
Therefore his sisters
sent unto him,
saying,
Lord,
behold,
he whom
thou lovest
is sick.
And now,
Lord,
behold their threatenings:
and grant
unto thy servants,
that with all
boldness
they
may speak
thy word,
And
they stoned
Stephen,
calling upon God,
and saying,
Lord Jesus,
receive my spirit.
For this thing
I besought
the Lord thrice,
that it
might depart from me.
Is any
among you afflicted?
let him pray.
Is any merry?
let him sing psalms.
Is any sick
among you?
let him
call for the elders
of the church;
and let them
pray over him,
anointing him
with oil
in the name
of the Lord:
And
the prayer
of faith
shall save
the sick,
and the Lord
shall raise him up;
and
if he
have committed sins,
they shall be forgiven him.
Confess your faults one
to another,
and pray one
for another,
that ye
may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer
of a righteous man
availeth much.
