I delight to do
thy will,
O my God:
yea,
thy law
is within my heart.
And righteousness
shall be the girdle
of his loins,
and faithfulness
the girdle
of his reins.
The LORD
is well pleased
for his righteousness' sake;
he will magnify
the law,
and make it honourable.
The Lord GOD
hath opened
mine ear,
and
I was not rebellious,
neither turned
away back.
I gave my back
to the smiters,
and my cheeks
to them
that plucked
off the hair:
I hid not
my face
from shame and spitting.
And Jesus
answering
said unto him,
Suffer it to be
so now:
for thus
it becometh us
to fulfil
all righteousness.
Then
he suffered him.
And
he went a little farther,
and fell
on his face,
and prayed,
saying,
O my Father,
if it
be possible,
let this cup pass
from me:
nevertheless
not as I will,
but as thou wilt.
He went away again
the second time,
and prayed,
saying,
O my Father,
if this cup
may not pass
away from me,
except I
drink it,
thy will be done.
And
he said unto them,
How is it
that ye
sought me?
wist
ye not
that I
must be
about my Father's business?
Jesus
saith unto them,
My meat
is to do
the will
of him that
sent me,
and to finish
his work.
I can of mine own self
do nothing:
as I hear,
I judge:
and my judgment
is just;
because
I
seek not mine own will,
but the will
of the Father
which hath sent me.
But
I have greater witness
than
that of John:
for the works
which the Father
hath given me
to finish,
the same
works that
I do,
bear
witness of me,
that the Father
hath sent me.
For I came down
from heaven,
not to do
mine own will,
but the will
of him that
sent me.
He that
speaketh of himself
seeketh his own glory:
but he
that seeketh
his glory
that sent him,
the same
is true,
and no unrighteousness
is in him.
And he
that sent me
is with me:
the Father
hath not left me alone;
for I
do always
those things that
please him.
Which of you
convinceth me
of sin?
And
if I
say the truth,
why do
ye not believe me?
Yet
ye have not known him;
but I
know him:
and
if I
should say,
I know him not,
I shall be
a liar like
unto you:
but I
know him,
and keep
his saying.
I must work
the works
of him that
sent me,
while it
is day:
the night cometh,
when no man
can work.
But
that the world
may know that
I love
the Father;
and as the Father
gave me
commandment,
even so
I do.
Arise,
let us go hence.
If ye
keep my commandments,
ye shall abide in
my love;
even as
I have kept
my Father's commandments,
and abide in
his love.
I have glorified thee
on the earth:
I have finished
the work
which thou
gavest me to do.
When Jesus
therefore had received
the vinegar,
he said,
It is finished:
and
he bowed
his head,
and gave up
the ghost.
And being found
in fashion
as a man,
he humbled himself,
and became obedient
unto death,
even the death
of the cross.
The Holy Ghost this signifying,
that the way
into the holiest
of all was not
yet made manifest,
while as the first tabernacle
was yet standing:
Then said I,
Lo,
I come
(in the volume
of the book
it is written of me,)
to do
thy will,
O God.
Above
when he said,
Sacrifice
and offering
and burnt offerings
and offering
for sin
thou wouldest not,
neither hadst pleasure
therein;
which are offered
by the law;
Then said he,
Lo,
I come to do
thy will,
O God.
He taketh away
the first,
that he
may establish
the second.
