He shall feed
his flock like a shepherd:
he shall gather the lambs
with his arm,
and carry them
in his bosom,
and shall gently lead
those that
are with young.
A bruised reed
shall
he not break,
and the smoking flax
shall
he not quench:
he shall bring forth judgment
unto truth.
In all
their affliction
he was afflicted,
and the angel
of his presence
saved them:
in his love
and in his pity
he redeemed them;
and he
bare them,
and carried them all
the days
of old.
And Jesus put forth
his hand,
and touched him,
saying,
I will;
be thou clean.
And immediately
his leprosy
was cleansed.
When the even was come,
they brought
unto him many
that were possessed
with devils:
and he cast
out the spirits
with his word,
and healed all
that were sick:
That it
might be fulfilled
which was spoken
by Esaias
the prophet,
saying,
Himself took our infirmities,
and bare
our sicknesses.
But
when
he saw
the multitudes,
he was moved
with compassion
on them,
because
they fainted,
and were scattered abroad,
as sheep
having no shepherd.
And Jesus
went forth,
and saw
a great multitude,
and was moved
with compassion
toward them,
and
he healed
their sick.
Then Jesus
called
his disciples
unto him,
and said,
I have compassion
on the multitude,
because
they continue
with me now three days,
and have nothing
to eat:
and
I will not send them
away fasting,
lest
they faint
in the way.
For the Son
of man
is come to save
that which
was lost.
How think ye?
if a man
have an hundred sheep,
and one
of them be gone astray,
doth
he not leave
the ninety
and nine,
and goeth into the mountains,
and seeketh
that which
is gone astray?
And
if so
be that
he find it,
verily
I say unto you,
he rejoiceth more
of that sheep,
than
of the ninety
and nine which
went not astray.
So Jesus
had compassion
on them,
and touched
their eyes:
and immediately
their eyes
received sight,
and
they followed him.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
thou
that killest the prophets,
and stonest them
which are sent
unto thee,
how often would
I have gathered
thy children
together,
even as
a hen
gathereth
her chickens
under her wings,
and ye would not!
And Jesus,
when he came out,
saw much people,
and was moved
with compassion
toward them,
because
they
were as sheep
not having
a shepherd:
and
he began to teach them many things.
I have compassion
on the multitude,
because
they have now been
with me three days,
and have nothing
to eat:
And
if I
send them
away fasting
to their own houses,
they will faint
by the way:
for divers
of them came
from far.
And
when the Lord
saw her,
he had compassion
on her,
and said
unto her,
Weep not.
And
when
he was come near,
he beheld
the city,
and wept
over it,
Saying,
If thou
hadst known,
even thou,
at least
in this thy day,
the things which
belong unto thy peace!
but now
they are
hid
from thine eyes.
And said,
Where
have ye laid him?
They said unto him,
Lord,
come and see.
Then said
the Jews,
Behold
how he
loved him!
And some of them said,
Could
not this man,
which opened
the eyes
of the blind,
have caused that even
this man
should not have died?
Jesus therefore again groaning
in himself
cometh to the grave.
It was a cave,
and a stone lay
upon it.
Jesus answered,
I have told you
that
I am he:
if therefore
ye seek me,
let these
go their way:
That the saying
might be fulfilled,
which he spake,
Of them which
thou gavest me
have
I lost none.
For ye
know the grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that,
though he
was rich,
yet for your sakes
he became poor,
that ye
through his poverty
might be rich.
For we
have not
an high priest
which cannot be touched
with the feeling
of our infirmities;
but was
in all points
tempted like
as we are,
yet without sin.
