Look down
from thy holy habitation,
from heaven,
and bless
thy people Israel,
and the land which
thou hast given us,
as thou
swarest unto our fathers,
a land that
floweth with milk
and honey.
The LORD
is in his holy temple,
the LORD's throne
is in heaven:
his eyes behold,
his eyelids try,
the children
of men.
Thus saith the LORD,
The heaven
is my throne,
and the earth
is my footstool:
where is the house
that ye
build
unto me?
and
where is the place
of my rest?
Rejoice,
and be exceeding glad:
for great
is your reward
in heaven:
for so
persecuted
they the prophets
which were before you.
But lay up
for yourselves treasures
in heaven,
where neither moth nor
rust
doth corrupt,
and
where thieves
do not break
through nor steal:
Take heed that
ye despise not one
of these little ones;
for I
say unto you,
That in heaven
their angels
do always behold the face
of my Father
which is in heaven.
So then
after the Lord
had spoken unto them,
he was received up
into heaven,
and sat
on the right hand
of God.
I say unto you,
that likewise joy
shall be
in heaven
over one sinner
that repenteth,
more than over ninety
and nine
just persons,
which need no repentance.
And Jesus
answering
said unto them,
The children
of this world marry,
and are given
in marriage:
But they which
shall be accounted worthy
to obtain that world,
and the resurrection
from the dead,
neither marry,
nor are given
in marriage:
Neither can
they die any more:
for they
are equal
unto the angels;
and are the children
of God,
being the children
of the resurrection.
In my Father's house
are many mansions:
if it
were not so,
I would have told you.
I go
to prepare a place
for you.
And
if I
go and prepare
a place
for you,
I will come again,
and receive you
unto myself;
that where
I am,
there
ye may be also.
Heaven is my throne,
and earth
is my footstool:
what house
will
ye build me?
saith the Lord:
or what
is the place
of my rest?
Then we which
are alive
and remain
shall be caught up together
with them
in the clouds,
to meet the Lord
in the air:
and so
shall
we ever be
with the Lord.
For ye
had compassion of me
in my bonds,
and took joyfully
the spoiling
of your goods,
knowing in yourselves
that ye
have in heaven
a better
and an enduring substance.
Nevertheless we,
according to his promise,
look for new heavens
and a new earth,
wherein dwelleth
righteousness.
He that
hath an ear,
let him
hear
what the Spirit
saith unto the churches;
To him that
overcometh
will
I give
to eat
of the tree
of life,
which is in the midst
of the paradise
of God.
And round
about the throne
were four
and twenty seats:
and
upon the seats
I saw four
and twenty elders sitting,
clothed
in white raiment;
and
they had
on their heads crowns
of gold.
After this
I beheld,
and,
lo,
a great multitude,
which no man
could number,
of all nations,
and kindreds,
and people,
and tongues,
stood
before the throne,
and
before the Lamb,
clothed
with white robes,
and palms
in their hands;
And
one
of the elders answered,
saying unto me,
What
are
these which
are arrayed
in white robes?
and whence came they?
And
I said unto him,
Sir,
thou knowest.
And
he said to me,
These
are
they which
came
out of great tribulation,
and have washed
their robes,
and made them white
in the blood
of the Lamb.
Therefore are
they
before the throne
of God,
and serve him day and night
in his temple:
and he
that
sitteth on the throne
shall dwell among them.
They shall hunger no more,
neither thirst any more;
neither shall
the sun light
on them,
nor any heat.
For the Lamb
which is in the midst
of the throne
shall feed them,
and shall lead them
unto living fountains
of waters:
and God
shall wipe
away all
tears
from their eyes.
And
I saw as it
were a sea
of glass
mingled with fire:
and them
that had gotten
the victory
over the beast,
and
over his image,
and
over his mark,
and
over the number
of his name,
stand on the sea
of glass,
having the harps
of God.
And
I saw
a new heaven
and a new earth:
for the first heaven
and the first earth
were passed away;
and there was
no more sea.
And I John
saw the holy city,
new Jerusalem,
coming down
from God
out of heaven,
prepared
as a bride
adorned
for her husband.
And I
heard
a great voice
out of heaven saying,
Behold,
the tabernacle
of God
is with men,
and
he will dwell with them,
and
they shall be
his people,
and God himself
shall be with them,
and be
their God.
And God
shall wipe
away all
tears
from their eyes;
and there shall be
no more death,
neither sorrow,
nor crying,
neither shall there be any more
pain:
for the former things
are passed away.
And he
that sat
upon the throne said,
Behold,
I make all things new.
And
he said unto me,
Write:
for these words
are true
and faithful.
And there came
unto me one
of the seven angels which
had the seven vials full of
the seven last plagues,
and
talked with me,
saying,
Come hither,
I will shew thee
the bride,
the Lamb's wife.
And
he carried me away
in the spirit
to a great
and high mountain,
and shewed me
that great city,
the holy Jerusalem,
descending out of heaven
from God,
Having the glory
of God:
and her light
was like
unto a stone most precious,
even like
a jasper stone,
clear
as crystal;
And the building
of the wall of it
was of jasper:
and the city
was pure gold,
like unto clear glass.
And the foundations
of the wall
of the city
were garnished with all manner
of precious stones.
The first foundation
was jasper;
the second,
sapphire;
the third,
a chalcedony;
the fourth,
an emerald;
And the twelve gates
were twelve pearls:
every several gate
was of one pearl:
and the street
of the city
was pure gold,
as it were transparent glass.
And I
saw
no temple therein:
for the Lord God Almighty
and the Lamb
are the temple of it.
And the city
had no
need
of the sun,
neither of the moon,
to shine in it:
for the glory
of God
did lighten it,
and the Lamb
is
the light thereof.
And the nations
of them which
are saved
shall walk
in the light of it:
and the kings
of the earth
do bring
their glory
and honour
into it.
And the gates of it
shall not be shut at
all by day:
for there shall be
no night there.
And
they shall bring
the glory
and honour
of the nations
into it.
And there shall
in no wise
enter into it
any thing
that defileth,
neither whatsoever worketh
abomination,
or maketh a lie:
but
they which
are written in the Lamb's book
of life.
And he
shewed me
a pure river
of water of life,
clear as crystal,
proceeding
out of the throne
of God
and of the Lamb.
In the midst
of the street of it,
and
on either side
of the river,
was there
the tree of life,
which bare
twelve manner
of fruits,
and yielded
her fruit every month:
and
the leaves
of the tree
were for the healing
of the nations.
And there shall be
no more curse:
but the throne
of God
and of the Lamb
shall be in it;
and his servants
shall serve him:
And
they shall see
his face;
and his name
shall be
in their foreheads.
And there shall be
no night there;
and
they need
no candle,
neither light
of the sun;
for the Lord God
giveth them light:
and
they shall reign
for ever and ever.
