And he
believed
in the LORD;
and he
counted it
to him
for righteousness.
And God
said
unto him
in a dream,
Yea,
I know that
thou didst this
in the integrity
of thy heart;
for I also withheld thee
from sinning against me:
therefore suffered
I thee not
to touch her.
For thou art
an holy people
unto the LORD thy God:
the LORD thy God
hath chosen thee
to be a special people
unto himself,
above all people
that are upon the face
of the earth.
The LORD
did not set
his love
upon you,
nor choose you,
because
ye were more
in number
than any people;
for ye were
the fewest
of all people:
But
because
the LORD
loved you,
and
because
he would keep
the oath
which he
had sworn
unto your fathers,
hath
the LORD
brought
you out
with a mighty hand,
and redeemed you
out of the house
of bondmen,
from the hand
of Pharaoh king
of Egypt.
Know therefore
that the LORD
thy God,
he is God,
the faithful God,
which keepeth covenant
and mercy
with them that love him
and keep
his commandments
to a thousand generations;
Speak not
thou in thine heart,
after that
the LORD thy God
hath cast
them out from
before thee,
saying,
For my righteousness
the LORD
hath brought me in
to possess this land:
but for the wickedness
of these nations
the LORD
doth drive
them out from
before thee.
Not for thy righteousness,
or for the uprightness
of thine heart,
dost
thou go
to possess their land:
but for the wickedness
of these nations
the LORD thy God
doth drive
them out from
before thee,
and
that he
may perform
the word
which the LORD
sware unto thy fathers,
Abraham, Isaac,
and Jacob.
Understand therefore,
that the LORD
thy God
giveth thee
not this good land
to possess it
for thy righteousness;
for thou
art a stiffnecked people.
Thou hast granted me life
and favour,
and thy visitation
hath preserved
my spirit.
Can a man
be profitable
unto God,
as he
that is wise
may be profitable
unto himself?
Is it
any pleasure
to the Almighty,
that thou art righteous?
or is
it gain to him,
that thou
makest thy ways perfect?
Unless the LORD
had been my help,
my soul
had
almost dwelt
in silence.
When I said,
My foot slippeth;
thy mercy,
O LORD,
held me up.
In the multitude
of my thoughts
within me thy
comforts
delight my soul.
In the day
when I
cried
thou answeredst me,
and strengthenedst me
with strength
in my soul.
Quicken me,
O LORD,
for thy name's sake:
for thy
righteousness' sake
bring
my soul
out of trouble.
O my God,
incline thine ear,
and hear;
open thine eyes,
and behold
our desolations,
and the city
which is called
by thy name:
for we
do not present
our supplications
before thee
for our righteousnesses,
but for thy great mercies.
Then there came again
and touched me one like
the appearance
of a man,
and
he strengthened me,
And said,
O man greatly beloved,
fear not:
peace
be
unto thee,
be strong,
yea,
be strong.
And
when
he had spoken unto me,
I was strengthened,
and said,
Let my lord speak;
for thou
hast strengthened me.
No man
can come to me,
except the Father
which hath sent me
draw him:
and I
will raise
him up
at the last day.
It is written
in the prophets,
And
they shall be all taught
of God.
Every man
therefore that
hath heard,
and hath learned
of the Father,
cometh unto me.
And now
I am no more
in the world,
but these
are in the world,
and I come
to thee.
Holy Father,
keep through thine
own
name those whom
thou hast given me,
that they
may be one,
as we are.
While I
was with them
in the world,
I kept them
in thy name:
those that thou
gavest me I
have kept,
and none of them
is lost,
but the son
of perdition;
that the scripture
might be fulfilled.
I pray not
that thou
shouldest take them
out of the world,
but that thou
shouldest keep them
from the evil.
And now,
Lord,
behold their threatenings:
and grant
unto thy servants,
that with all
boldness
they
may speak
thy word,
By stretching
forth thine hand
to heal;
and that signs
and wonders may be done
by the name
of thy holy child Jesus.
Having therefore obtained
help of God,
I continue
unto this day,
witnessing both
to small
and great,
saying none other things
than those
which the prophets
and Moses
did say
should come:
Even
the righteousness
of God
which is by faith
of Jesus Christ
unto all
and upon all
them that believe:
for there is no difference:
For all have sinned,
and come short
of the glory
of God;
Being justified freely
by his grace
through the redemption
that is
in Christ Jesus:
Now to him that
worketh
is
the reward
not reckoned
of grace,
but of debt.
But to him
that worketh not,
but believeth
on him that
justifieth the ungodly,
his faith
is counted
for righteousness.
Therefore it
is of faith,
that it
might be
by grace;
to the end
the promise
might be sure
to all the seed;
not to
that only which
is of the law,
but to
that also which
is of the faith
of Abraham;
who is the father
of us all,
By whom also
we have
access
by faith
into this grace
wherein we stand,
and rejoice
in hope
of the glory
of God.
For when
we were yet
without strength,
in due time
Christ
died
for the ungodly.
For scarcely for a
righteous man
will
one die:
yet peradventure for a
good man some
would even dare
to die.
But God
commendeth
his love
toward us,
in that,
while we
were yet sinners,
Christ
died for us.
But not as the offence,
so also is
the free gift.
For if
through the offence
of one many
be dead,
much more
the grace of God,
and the gift
by grace,
which is by one man,
Jesus Christ,
hath abounded
unto many.
And not as it
was by one
that sinned,
so is the gift:
for the judgment
was by one
to condemnation,
but the free
gift is of many offences
unto justification.
For if
by one man's offence
death
reigned
by one;
much more
they
which receive abundance
of grace
and of the gift
of righteousness
shall reign
in life
by one,
Jesus Christ.)
Therefore as
by the offence
of one judgment
came upon all men
to condemnation;
even so
by the righteousness
of one
the free gift
came upon all men
unto justification
of life.
For as by one man's disobedience
many were made
sinners,
so by the obedience
of one
shall
many be made righteous.
Moreover the law entered,
that the offence
might abound.
But
where sin abounded,
grace did much more abound:
That as
sin
hath reigned
unto death,
even so
might grace
reign
through righteousness
unto eternal life
by Jesus Christ our Lord.
And
not only this;
but when Rebecca
also had conceived
by one,
even by our father Isaac;
(For the children
being not yet born,
neither having done any good
or evil,
that the purpose
of God
according to election
might stand,
not of works,
but of him that calleth;)
It was said
unto her,
The elder
shall serve
the younger.
As it is written,
Jacob
have
I loved,
but Esau
have I hated.
What shall
we say then?
Is there unrighteousness
with God?
God forbid.
For he
saith to Moses,
I will have
mercy on whom
I will have mercy,
and I
will have
compassion
on whom
I will have compassion.
So then it
is not
of him that willeth,
nor of him that runneth,
but of God
that sheweth mercy.
Even so
then
at this present time
also there is
a remnant
according to
the election
of grace.
And if by grace,
then is
it no more
of works:
otherwise
grace
is no more grace.
But
if it
be of works,
then it
is no more grace:
otherwise
work
is no more work.
I thank
my God
always on your behalf,
for the grace
of God which
is given you
by Jesus Christ;
That in every thing
ye are enriched by him,
in all utterance,
and
in all knowledge;
Even as
the testimony
of Christ
was confirmed
in you:
So that
ye come behind
in no gift;
waiting
for the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall also confirm you
unto the end,
that ye
may be blameless
in the day
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There hath
no temptation
taken you
but such as is common
to man:
but God
is faithful,
who will not suffer you
to be tempted
above that
ye are able;
but will with the temptation
also make a way
to escape,
that ye
may be able
to bear it.
But by the grace
of God I
am
what I am:
and his grace which
was bestowed
upon me was not
in vain;
but
I laboured more abundantly than
they all:
yet not I,
but the grace
of God
which was with me.
For our rejoicing
is this,
the testimony
of our conscience,
that in simplicity
and godly sincerity,
not with fleshly wisdom,
but by the grace
of God,
we have had
our conversation
in the world,
and more
abundantly to you-ward.
But
when it
pleased God,
who separated me
from my mother's womb,
and called me
by his grace,
To reveal his Son in me,
that I
might preach him
among the heathen;
immediately
I conferred not
with flesh
and blood:
Having predestinated us
unto the adoption
of children
by Jesus Christ
to himself,
according to
the good pleasure
of his will,
To the praise
of the glory
of his grace,
wherein he
hath made us
accepted
in the beloved.
In whom
we have redemption
through his blood,
the forgiveness
of sins,
according to
the riches
of his grace;
Wherein he
hath abounded toward us
in all wisdom
and prudence;
Having made
known
unto us the mystery
of his will,
according to
his good pleasure
which he
hath purposed
in himself:
In whom also
we have obtained
an inheritance,
being predestinated according to
the purpose
of him who
worketh
all things
after the counsel
of his own will:
That we
should be to the praise
of his glory,
who first trusted
in Christ.
For by
grace
are ye
saved
through faith;
and
that not of yourselves:
it is the gift
of God:
Not of works,
lest any man
should boast.
That he
would grant you,
according to
the riches
of his glory,
to be strengthened
with might by his Spirit
in the inner man;
But unto every one
of us is given grace
according to the measure
of the gift
of Christ.
Finally,
my brethren,
be strong
in the Lord,
and
in the power
of his might.
For I
know that this
shall turn
to my salvation
through your prayer,
and the supply
of the Spirit
of Jesus Christ,
For it
is
God which
worketh in you both to
will
and
to do
of his good pleasure.
Paul,
and Silvanus,
and Timotheus,
unto the church
of the Thessalonians
which is in God
the Father
and
in the Lord Jesus Christ:
Grace
be
unto you,
and peace,
from God our Father,
and the Lord Jesus Christ.
And
the grace
of our Lord
was exceeding abundant
with faith
and love which
is in Christ Jesus.
Paul,
an apostle
of Jesus Christ
by the will
of God,
according to
the promise
of life
which is in Christ Jesus,
Who hath saved us,
and called us
with an holy calling,
not according to our works,
but
according to
his own purpose
and grace,
which was given us
in Christ Jesus
before the world began,
That being justified
by his grace,
we should be made heirs
according to
the hope
of eternal life.
Who are kept
by the power
of God
through faith
unto salvation ready
to be revealed
in the last time.
As every man
hath received
the gift,
even so
minister the same one
to another,
as good stewards
of the manifold grace
of God.
But the God
of all grace,
who hath called us
unto his eternal glory
by Christ Jesus,
after that
ye have suffered
a while,
make you perfect,
stablish,
strengthen,
settle you.
Jude,
the servant
of Jesus Christ,
and brother
of James,
to them
that
are sanctified
by God the Father,
and preserved
in Jesus Christ,
and called:
Keep yourselves
in the love
of God,
looking for the mercy
of our Lord Jesus Christ
unto eternal life.
Now unto him that is able
to keep you
from falling,
and
to present
you faultless
before the presence
of his glory
with exceeding joy,
To the
only wise God our Saviour,
be glory
and majesty,
dominion
and power,
both now
and ever.
Amen.
Because
thou hast kept
the word
of my patience,
I also will keep thee
from the hour
of temptation,
which shall come upon all
the world,
to try them
that dwell
upon the earth.
