In the beginning God
created
the heaven
and the earth.
And the earth
was without form,
and void;
and darkness
was upon the face
of the deep.
And
the Spirit
of God
moved upon the face
of the waters.
And God said,
Let there be light:
and there was light.
And God
saw the light,
that it
was good:
and God
divided
the light
from the darkness.
And God
called the light Day,
and the darkness
he called Night.
And the evening
and the morning
were the first day.
And God said,
Let there be
a firmament
in the midst
of the waters,
and let
it divide
the waters
from the waters.
And God
made the firmament,
and divided
the waters
which were under the firmament
from the waters which
were above
the firmament:
and it
was so.
And God
called the firmament Heaven.
And the evening
and the morning
were the second day.
And God said,
Let
the waters
under the heaven
be gathered together
unto one place,
and let
the dry land appear:
and it
was so.
And God
called the dry land Earth;
and the gathering together
of the waters
called
he Seas:
and God
saw
that it
was good.
And God said,
Let the earth
bring forth grass,
the herb yielding seed,
and the fruit tree
yielding fruit
after his kind,
whose seed
is in itself,
upon the earth:
and it
was so.
And the earth
brought forth grass,
and herb
yielding
seed
after his kind,
and the tree yielding fruit,
whose seed
was in itself,
after his kind:
and God
saw
that it
was good.
And the evening
and the morning
were the third day.
And God said,
Let there be
lights
in the firmament
of the heaven
to divide the day
from the night;
and let them
be for signs,
and for seasons,
and for days,
and years:
And let them
be for lights
in the firmament
of the heaven
to give
light
upon the earth:
and it
was so.
And God
made two great lights;
the greater light
to rule the day,
and the lesser light
to rule the night:
he made
the stars also.
And God set them
in the firmament
of the heaven
to give
light
upon the earth,
And
to rule
over the day
and over the night,
and
to divide the light
from the darkness:
and God
saw
that it
was good.
And the evening
and the morning
were the fourth day.
And God said,
Let the waters
bring forth abundantly
the moving creature that
hath life,
and fowl
that may fly above
the earth
in the open firmament
of heaven.
And God
created great whales,
and every living creature
that moveth,
which the waters
brought forth abundantly,
after their kind,
and every winged fowl
after his kind:
and God
saw
that it
was good.
And God
blessed them,
saying,
Be fruitful,
and multiply,
and fill
the waters
in the seas,
and let
fowl multiply
in the earth.
And the evening
and the morning
were the fifth day.
And God said,
Let the earth
bring forth
the living creature
after his kind,
cattle,
and creeping thing,
and beast
of the earth
after his kind:
and it
was so.
And God
made
the beast
of the earth
after his kind,
and cattle
after their kind,
and every thing
that creepeth
upon the earth
after his kind:
and God
saw
that it
was good.
And God said,
Let us
make man
in our image,
after our likeness:
and let them
have dominion
over the fish
of the sea,
and over the fowl
of the air,
and
over the cattle,
and
over all the earth,
and
over every creeping thing
that creepeth
upon the earth.
So God
created man
in his own image,
in the image
of God
created
he him;
male
and female created
he them.
And God
blessed them,
and God
said unto them,
Be fruitful,
and multiply,
and replenish
the earth,
and subdue it:
and have dominion
over the fish
of the sea,
and over the fowl
of the air,
and
over every living thing
that moveth upon the earth.
And God said,
Behold,
I have given you
every herb bearing seed,
which is upon the face
of all
the earth,
and every tree,
in the which
is the fruit
of a tree yielding seed;
to you
it shall be
for meat.
And
to every beast
of the earth,
and to every fowl
of the air,
and
to every thing
that creepeth
upon the earth,
wherein there is life,
I have given
every green herb
for meat:
and it
was so.
And God
saw every thing that
he had made,
and,
behold,
it was very good.
And the evening
and the morning
were the sixth day.
Thus
the heavens
and the earth
were finished,
and all
the host
of them.
And on the seventh day God
ended his work
which he
had made;
and he
rested
on the seventh day
from all
his work
which he
had made.
And God
blessed the seventh day,
and sanctified it:
because
that in it
he had rested
from all
his work which God
created and made.
These are the generations
of the heavens
and of the earth
when
they were created,
in the day
that the LORD God
made the earth
and the heavens,
And the LORD God
formed man
of the dust
of the ground,
and breathed
into his nostrils
the breath
of life;
and man
became a living soul.
This is the book
of the generations
of Adam.
In the day
that God
created man,
in the likeness
of God
made
he him;
Male
and female created
he them;
and blessed them,
and called
their name Adam,
in the day
when
they were created.
Whoso sheddeth man's blood,
by man
shall
his blood
be shed:
for in the image
of God
made he man.
And the LORD
said unto him,
Who hath made
man's mouth?
or who
maketh the dumb,
or deaf,
or the seeing,
or the blind?
have not I the LORD?
For in six days the LORD
made heaven
and earth,
the sea,
and all
that in them is,
and rested
the seventh day:
wherefore
the LORD
blessed
the sabbath day,
and hallowed it.
For ask now
of the days
that are past,
which were before thee,
since the day
that God
created man
upon the earth,
and ask
from the one side
of heaven
unto the other,
whether there hath been
any such thing
as this
great thing is,
or hath been heard like it?
Do ye thus requite
the LORD,
O foolish people
and unwise?
is not
he thy
father that
hath bought thee?
hath
he not made thee,
and established thee?
But Jeshurun
waxed fat,
and kicked:
thou art waxen fat,
thou art
grown thick,
thou art
covered
with fatness;
then he
forsook
God which
made him,
and lightly esteemed
the Rock
of his salvation.
Of the Rock
that begat thee
thou art unmindful,
and hast forgotten God
that formed thee.
He raiseth up the poor
out of the dust,
and lifteth up the beggar
from the dunghill,
to set them
among princes,
and to make them
inherit the throne
of glory:
for the pillars
of the earth
are the LORD's,
and he
hath set
the world
upon them.
And Hezekiah
prayed
before the LORD,
and said,
O LORD God
of Israel,
which dwellest between the cherubims,
thou art
the God,
even thou alone,
of all the kingdoms
of the earth;
thou hast made heaven
and earth.
For all the gods
of the people
are idols:
but the LORD
made the heavens.
Thou,
even thou,
art LORD alone;
thou hast made
heaven,
the heaven
of heavens,
with all their host,
the earth,
and all things
that are therein,
the seas,
and all that is
therein,
and
thou preservest them all;
and
the host
of heaven
worshippeth thee.
Which alone
spreadeth out the heavens,
and treadeth
upon the waves
of the sea.
Which maketh Arcturus, Orion,
and Pleiades,
and the chambers
of the south.
Is it good
unto thee
that thou
shouldest oppress,
that thou
shouldest despise the work
of thine hands,
and shine
upon the counsel
of the wicked?
Thine hands
have made me
and fashioned me
together round about;
yet
thou dost destroy me.
Remember,
I beseech thee,
that thou
hast made me
as the clay;
and wilt
thou bring me
into dust again?
Hast
thou not poured
me out
as milk,
and curdled me like cheese?
Thou hast clothed me
with skin
and flesh,
and hast fenced me
with bones and sinews.
Thou hast granted me life
and favour,
and thy visitation
hath preserved
my spirit.
In whose hand
is the soul
of every living thing,
and the breath
of all mankind.
He stretcheth out the north
over the empty place,
and hangeth
the earth
upon nothing.
By his spirit
he hath garnished
the heavens;
his hand
hath formed
the crooked serpent.
All the while
my breath
is in me,
and
the spirit
of God
is in my nostrils;
When he
made
a decree
for the rain,
and a way
for the lightning
of the thunder:
Then did
he see it,
and declare it;
he prepared it,
yea,
and searched it out.
Did not
he that
made me
in the womb make him?
and did not
one fashion us
in the womb?
The spirit of God
hath made me,
and the breath
of the Almighty
hath given me life.
How much less
to him
that accepteth not
the persons
of princes,
nor regardeth
the rich more than the poor?
for they all are
the work
of his hands.
Dost thou
know the balancings
of the clouds,
the wondrous works
of him which
is perfect
in knowledge?
Hast
thou with him spread out
the sky,
which is strong,
and
as a molten looking glass?
Where wast
thou
when I
laid
the foundations
of the earth?
declare,
if thou
hast understanding.
When the morning stars
sang together,
and all
the sons
of God
shouted for joy?
Or who shut
up the sea
with doors,
when it brake forth,
as if
it had issued
out of the womb?
When I
made
the cloud the garment
thereof,
and thick darkness
a swaddlingband
for it,
And brake
up for it
my decreed place,
and set
bars and doors,
Who hath put wisdom
in the inward parts?
or who
hath given
understanding to the heart?
When
I consider
thy heavens,
the work
of thy fingers,
the moon
and the stars,
which thou
hast ordained;
The heavens
declare the glory
of God;
and the firmament
sheweth his handywork.
The earth
is the LORD's,
and the fulness
thereof;
the world,
and
they that
dwell therein.
For he
hath founded it
upon the seas,
and established
it upon the floods.
By the word
of the LORD
were
the heavens made;
and all
the host
of them
by the breath
of his mouth.
He gathereth
the waters
of the sea
together
as an heap:
he layeth up the depth
in storehouses.
For he spake,
and it
was done;
he commanded,
and it
stood fast.
He fashioneth their hearts alike;
he considereth all
their works.
Which by his strength
setteth
fast
the mountains;
being girded
with power:
The day
is thine,
the night
also is thine:
thou hast prepared
the light
and the sun.
Thou hast set all
the borders
of the earth:
thou hast made
summer and winter.
And he
built
his sanctuary like high palaces,
like the earth
which he
hath established
for ever.
All nations whom
thou hast made
shall come
and worship
before thee,
O Lord;
and shall glorify
thy name.
The heavens
are thine,
the earth
also is thine:
as for the world
and the fulness
thereof,
thou hast founded them.
The north
and the south
thou hast created them:
Tabor and
Hermon
shall rejoice
in thy name.
Remember how
short my time is:
wherefore hast
thou made all men
in vain?
Before the mountains
were brought forth,
or ever
thou hadst
formed the earth
and the world,
even from
everlasting to everlasting,
thou art God.
He that
planted the ear,
shall
he not hear?
he that
formed the eye,
shall he not see?
In his hand
are the deep places
of the earth:
the strength
of the hills
is his also.
The sea
is his,
and he
made it:
and his hands
formed the dry land.
O come,
let us
worship
and bow down:
let us
kneel
before the LORD our maker.
Know
ye that
the LORD
he is God:
it is
he that
hath made us,
and not
we ourselves;
we are his people,
and the sheep
of his pasture.
Of old
hast
thou laid
the foundation
of the earth:
and the heavens
are the work
of thy hands.
Bless the LORD,
all his works
in all places
of his dominion:
bless the LORD,
O my soul.
Who coverest thyself
with light as
with a garment:
who stretchest out
the heavens like a curtain:
Who layeth the beams
of his chambers
in the waters:
who maketh
the clouds his chariot:
who walketh upon the wings
of the wind:
Who laid the foundations
of the earth,
that it
should not be removed
for ever.
Thou coveredst it
with the deep
as with a garment:
the waters
stood above
the mountains.
O LORD,
how manifold
are
thy works!
in wisdom
hast
thou made them all:
the earth
is full of
thy riches.
Thou sendest forth thy spirit,
they are created:
and thou
renewest
the face
of the earth.
Thy faithfulness
is unto all generations:
thou hast established
the earth,
and it abideth.
My help
cometh from the LORD,
which made heaven
and earth.
Our help
is in the name
of the LORD,
who made heaven
and earth.
To him
that by wisdom made
the heavens:
for his mercy
endureth for ever.
To him
that stretched out
the earth above the waters:
for his mercy
endureth for ever.
To him that made great lights:
for his mercy
endureth for ever:
The sun
to rule by day:
for his mercy
endureth for ever:
The moon
and stars
to rule by night:
for his mercy
endureth for ever.
For thou
hast possessed
my reins:
thou hast covered me
in my mother's womb.
Which made heaven,
and earth,
the sea,
and all
that therein is:
which keepeth truth
for ever:
Let them
praise the name
of the LORD:
for he commanded,
and
they were created.
He hath also stablished them
for ever
and ever:
he hath made
a decree which
shall not pass.
Let Israel
rejoice in him that
made him:
let the children
of Zion
be joyful
in their King.
The LORD
by wisdom
hath founded
the earth;
by understanding
hath
he established
the heavens.
While as yet
he had not made
the earth,
nor the fields,
nor the highest part
of the dust
of the world.
When
he prepared
the heavens,
I was there:
when he set
a compass
upon the face
of the depth:
When
he established
the clouds above:
when
he strengthened
the fountains
of the deep:
When he
gave to the sea
his decree,
that the waters
should not pass
his commandment:
when he
appointed
the foundations
of the earth:
The LORD
hath made all things
for himself:
yea,
even the wicked
for the day
of evil.
The hearing ear,
and the seeing eye,
the LORD
hath made even both
of them.
The rich
and poor meet
together:
the LORD
is the maker
of them all.
The great God that
formed all
things both
rewardeth the fool,
and rewardeth transgressors.
Who hath ascended up
into heaven,
or descended?
who hath gathered
the wind
in his fists?
who hath bound
the waters
in a garment?
who hath established all
the ends
of the earth?
what is his name,
and
what is his son's name,
if thou canst tell?
He hath made every thing beautiful
in his time:
also he
hath set
the world
in their heart,
so that
no man
can find out
the work that God
maketh from the beginning
to the end.
Lo,
this only have
I found,
that God
hath made man upright;
but
they have sought out
many inventions.
As thou
knowest not
what is the way
of the spirit,
nor
how the bones
do grow
in the womb
of her
that is
with child:
even so
thou knowest not
the works
of God
who maketh all.
Remember now thy Creator
in the days
of thy youth,
while the evil days
come not,
nor the years
draw nigh,
when
thou shalt say,
I have no pleasure
in them;
At that day
shall a man
look
to his Maker,
and his eyes
shall have
respect
to the Holy One
of Israel.
O LORD of hosts,
God of Israel,
that dwellest between the cherubims,
thou art
the God,
even thou alone,
of all the kingdoms
of the earth:
thou hast made heaven
and earth.
Who hath measured
the waters
in the hollow
of his hand,
and meted out heaven
with the span,
and comprehended
the dust
of the earth
in a measure,
and weighed
the mountains
in scales,
and the hills
in a balance?
Lift
up your eyes
on high,
and behold who
hath created
these things,
that bringeth out their host
by number:
he calleth them
all by names
by the greatness
of his might,
for that
he is strong
in power;
not one faileth.
Hast
thou not known?
hast
thou not heard,
that the everlasting God,
the LORD,
the Creator
of the ends
of the earth,
fainteth not,
neither is weary?
there is
no
searching
of his understanding.
Thus saith God
the LORD,
he that
created the heavens,
and
stretched them out;
he that spread
forth the earth,
and
that which
cometh out of it;
he that
giveth breath
unto the people
upon it,
and spirit
to them that walk
therein:
But now thus
saith the LORD
that created thee,
O Jacob,
and
he that
formed thee,
O Israel,
Fear not:
for I
have redeemed thee,
I have called thee
by thy name;
thou art mine.
Even every one
that is called
by my name:
for I
have created him
for my glory,
I have formed him;
yea,
I have made him.
I am the LORD,
your Holy One,
the creator
of Israel,
your King.
Thus
saith
the LORD
that made thee,
and formed thee
from the womb,
which will help thee;
Fear not,
O Jacob,
my servant;
and thou,
Jesurun,
whom I have chosen.
Thus saith the LORD,
thy redeemer,
and
he that
formed thee
from the womb,
I am the LORD
that maketh all things;
that stretcheth forth the heavens alone;
that spreadeth abroad the earth
by myself;
I form the light,
and create darkness:
I make peace,
and create evil:
I the LORD
do all
these things.
I have made
the earth,
and created man
upon it:
I,
even my hands,
have stretched out
the heavens,
and all
their host
have I commanded.
For thus
saith the LORD
that created
the heavens;
God himself that
formed
the earth
and made it;
he hath established it,
he created it
not in vain,
he formed it
to be inhabited:
I am the LORD;
and there is none else.
Mine hand
also hath laid the foundation
of the earth,
and my right hand
hath spanned
the heavens:
when
I call unto them,
they stand up together.
And forgettest
the LORD thy maker,
that hath stretched
forth the heavens,
and laid
the foundations
of the earth;
and hast feared continually
every day
because
of the fury
of the oppressor,
as if
he were ready
to destroy?
and
where is the fury
of the oppressor?
And I
have put my words
in thy mouth,
and
I have covered thee
in the shadow
of mine hand,
that I
may plant
the heavens,
and lay
the foundations
of the earth,
and say
unto Zion,
Thou art my people.
But now,
O LORD,
thou art
our father;
we are the clay,
and
thou our potter;
and
we all are the work
of thy hand.
For all
those things
hath
mine hand made,
and all those things
have been,
saith the LORD:
but to this man
will
I look,
even to him
that is poor and
of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at my word.
Fear ye not me?
saith the LORD:
will
ye not tremble
at my presence,
which have placed
the sand
for the bound
of the sea
by a perpetual decree,
that it
cannot pass it:
and
though the waves
thereof toss themselves,
yet can
they not prevail;
though they roar,
yet can
they not pass
over it?
He hath made
the earth
by his power,
he hath established
the world
by his wisdom,
and hath stretched out
the heavens
by his discretion.
The portion
of Jacob
is not like them:
for he is
the former
of all things;
and Israel
is the rod
of his inheritance:
The LORD of hosts
is his name.
I have made
the earth,
the man
and the beast that
are upon the ground,
by my great power
and by my outstretched arm,
and have given
it unto whom
it seemed
meet unto me.
Thus saith the LORD,
which giveth
the sun
for a light
by day,
and the ordinances
of the moon
and of the stars
for a light
by night,
which divideth
the sea
when the waves
thereof roar;
The LORD of hosts
is his name:
Ah Lord GOD!
behold,
thou hast made
the heaven
and the earth
by thy great power
and stretched out arm,
and there is nothing too hard
for thee:
Thus
saith
the LORD the maker
thereof,
the LORD that
formed it,
to establish it;
the LORD
is his name;
He hath made
the earth
by his power,
he hath established
the world
by his wisdom,
and hath stretched out
the heaven
by his understanding.
When
he uttereth his voice,
there is a multitude
of waters
in the heavens;
and he
causeth
the vapours
to ascend
from the ends
of the earth:
he maketh lightnings
with rain,
and bringeth forth the wind
out of his treasures.
But hast lifted
up thyself
against the Lord
of heaven;
and
they have brought
the vessels
of his house
before thee,
and thou,
and thy lords,
thy wives,
and thy concubines,
have drunk wine
in them;
and
thou hast praised
the gods
of silver,
and gold,
of brass,
iron,
wood,
and stone,
which see not,
nor hear,
nor know:
and the God
in whose hand
thy breath is,
and whose are all
thy ways,
hast
thou not glorified:
For, lo,
he that
formeth the mountains,
and createth the wind,
and declareth unto man
what is his thought,
that maketh the morning darkness,
and treadeth
upon the high places
of the earth,
The LORD,
The God of hosts,
is his name.
Seek him that
maketh
the seven stars
and Orion,
and turneth
the shadow
of death
into the morning,
and maketh
the day dark
with night:
that calleth
for the waters
of the sea,
and poureth
them out
upon the face
of the earth:
The LORD
is his name:
It is
he that
buildeth
his stories
in the heaven,
and hath founded
his troop
in the earth;
he that calleth
for the waters
of the sea,
and poureth
them out
upon the face
of the earth:
The LORD is his name.
And
he said unto them,
I am an Hebrew;
and
I fear the LORD,
the God
of heaven,
which hath made
the sea
and the dry land.
The burden
of the word
of the LORD
for Israel,
saith the LORD,
which stretcheth forth the heavens,
and layeth
the foundation
of the earth,
and formeth
the spirit
of man
within him.
Have
we not all one father?
hath not
one God created us?
why do
we deal treacherously every man
against his brother,
by profaning
the covenant
of our fathers?
But from the beginning
of the creation God
made them male
and female.
For in those days
shall be affliction,
such as was not
from the beginning
of the creation
which God
created
unto this time,
neither shall be.
And
when
they heard that,
they lifted
up their voice
to God
with one accord,
and said,
Lord,
thou art God,
which hast made
heaven,
and earth,
and the sea,
and all
that in them is:
Hath not
my hand
made all
these things?
And saying,
Sirs,
why do
ye these things?
We also are men
of like passions
with you,
and preach
unto you
that ye
should turn
from these vanities
unto the living God,
which made heaven,
and earth,
and the sea,
and all things
that are
therein:
God that
made
the world
and all things
therein,
seeing that
he is Lord
of heaven
and earth,
dwelleth not
in temples
made with hands;
Neither is worshipped
with men's hands,
as though
he needed any thing,
seeing
he giveth to all life,
and breath,
and all things;
And hath made
of one blood all nations
of men
for to dwell
on all the face
of the earth,
and hath determined
the times
before appointed,
and the bounds
of their habitation;
For in him we live,
and move,
and have
our being;
as certain
also of your own poets
have said,
For
we are also
his offspring.
For the invisible things
of him
from the creation
of the world
are clearly seen,
being understood
by the things
that are made,
even his eternal power
and Godhead;
so that
they are without excuse:
For of him,
and through him,
and to him,
are all things:
to whom
be glory
for ever.
Amen.
But to us
there is
but one God,
the Father,
of whom are all things,
and we in him;
and one Lord Jesus Christ,
by whom are all things,
and we by him.
But now hath
God set
the members every one
of them
in the body,
as it hath pleased him.
For our comely parts
have
no need:
but God
hath tempered
the body
together,
having given
more abundant honour
to that part which lacked.
That there should be no schism
in the body;
but
that the members
should have
the same care one
for another.
But God
giveth
it a body as it
hath pleased him,
and
to every seed
his own body.
For God,
who commanded the light
to shine out of darkness,
hath shined
in our hearts,
to give the light
of the knowledge
of the glory
of God
in the face
of Jesus Christ.
Now
he that
hath wrought us
for the selfsame thing
is God,
who also hath given
unto us the earnest
of the Spirit.
And all things
are of God,
who hath reconciled us
to himself
by Jesus Christ,
and hath given
to us the ministry
of reconciliation;
And
to make all men
see
what is the fellowship
of the mystery,
which from the beginning
of the world
hath been
hid in God,
who created all things
by Jesus Christ:
I give thee charge
in the sight
of God,
who quickeneth all things,
and
before Christ Jesus,
who before Pontius Pilate
witnessed
a good confession;
God,
who at sundry
times
and
in divers manners
spake
in time past
unto the fathers
by the prophets,
Hath
in these last days
spoken unto us
by his Son,
whom
he hath appointed heir
of all things,
by whom also
he made
the worlds;
For it
became him,
for whom
are all things,
and by whom are all things,
in bringing many sons
unto glory,
to make the captain
of their salvation perfect
through sufferings.
For every house
is builded
by some man;
but
he that
built all
things is God.
Through faith
we understand
that the worlds
were framed
by the word
of God,
so that
things
which are seen
were not made
of things
which do appear.
For he
looked for
a city which
hath foundations,
whose builder
and maker
is God.
Furthermore
we have had
fathers
of our flesh which
corrected us,
and
we gave them reverence:
shall
we not much rather
be in subjection
unto the Father
of spirits,
and live?
Wherefore let them
that suffer according to
the will
of God
commit the keeping
of their souls
to him
in well doing,
as unto a
faithful Creator.
Thou art worthy,
O Lord,
to receive
glory
and honour and power:
for thou
hast created
all things,
and for thy pleasure
they are
and were created.
And sware by him that
liveth for ever
and ever,
who created
heaven,
and the things
that therein are,
and the earth,
and the things
that therein are,
and the sea,
and the things which
are therein,
that there should be
time no longer:
Saying
with a loud voice,
Fear God,
and give
glory to him;
for the hour
of his judgment
is come:
and worship him
that made heaven,
and earth,
and the sea,
and the fountains
of waters.
