And
she called
the name
of the LORD
that spake unto her,
Thou God
seest me:
for she said,
Have I
also here
looked
after him that seeth me?
And the LORD said,
I have surely seen
the affliction
of my people which
are in Egypt,
and have heard
their cry
by reason
of their taskmasters;
for I
know their sorrows;
How long
shall
I bear
with this evil congregation,
which murmur
against me?
I have heard
the murmurings
of the children
of Israel,
which they
murmur against me.
For the LORD
thy God
hath blessed thee
in all
the works
of thy hand:
he knoweth
thy walking
through this
great wilderness:
these forty years the LORD
thy God
hath been
with thee;
thou hast lacked
nothing.
And it
shall come
to pass,
when many evils
and troubles
are befallen them,
that this song
shall testify
against them
as a witness;
for it
shall not be forgotten
out of the mouths
of their seed:
for I
know their imagination
which they
go about,
even now,
before I
have brought them
into the land
which I sware.
Talk
no more so
exceeding proudly;
let not
arrogancy
come
out of your mouth:
for the LORD
is a God
of knowledge,
and by him actions
are weighed.
But the LORD
said
unto Samuel,
Look
not on his countenance,
or on the height
of his stature;
because
I have refused him:
for the LORD
seeth not
as man seeth;
for man looketh
on the outward appearance,
but the LORD looketh
on the heart.
And what
can
David say more
unto thee?
for thou,
Lord GOD,
knowest thy servant.
Then hear
thou in heaven
thy dwelling place,
and forgive,
and do,
and give
to every man
according to his ways,
whose heart
thou knowest;
(for thou,
even thou only,
knowest the hearts
of all the children
of men;)
But
I know thy abode,
and thy going out,
and thy coming in,
and thy
rage against me.
And thou,
Solomon my son,
know
thou the God
of thy father,
and serve him
with a perfect heart
and
with a willing mind:
for the LORD
searcheth all hearts,
and understandeth all
the imaginations
of the thoughts:
if thou
seek him,
he will be found
of thee;
but
if thou
forsake him,
he will cast thee off
for ever.
I know also,
my God,
that thou
triest the heart,
and hast pleasure
in uprightness.
As for me,
in the uprightness
of mine heart
I have willingly offered all
these things:
and now have
I seen
with joy thy people,
which are present here,
to offer willingly
unto thee.
For the eyes
of the LORD
run
to and fro
throughout the whole earth,
to shew himself strong
in the behalf
of them whose heart
is perfect toward him.
Herein
thou hast done foolishly:
therefore from
henceforth
thou shalt have wars.
And shewedst
signs and
wonders upon Pharaoh,
and
on all his servants,
and
on all the people
of his land:
for thou
knewest
that they
dealt proudly against them.
So didst thou
get thee a name,
as it is this day.
For he
knoweth vain men:
he seeth wickedness also;
will he not
then consider it?
With him is wisdom
and strength,
he hath
counsel
and understanding.
He discovereth deep things
out of darkness,
and bringeth out
to light the shadow
of death.
Shall
any teach
God knowledge?
seeing
he judgeth
those
that are high.
And thou sayest,
How doth
God know?
can he
judge
through the dark cloud?
Thick clouds
are
a covering
to him,
that he
seeth not;
and
he walketh in the circuit
of heaven.
But
he knoweth
the way that
I take:
when
he hath tried me,
I shall come forth
as gold.
Why,
seeing
times
are not hidden
from the Almighty,
do they that
know him
not see
his days?
Though it
be given him
to be in safety,
whereon
he resteth;
yet his eyes
are upon their ways.
Hell is naked
before him,
and destruction
hath no covering.
He cutteth out rivers
among the rocks;
and his eye
seeth every precious thing.
For he looketh
to the ends
of the earth,
and seeth under the whole heaven;
Doth not
he see
my ways,
and count all
my steps?
For his eyes
are upon the ways
of man,
and
he seeth all
his goings.
There is
no darkness,
nor shadow
of death,
where the workers
of iniquity
may hide themselves.
Therefore he
knoweth their works,
and
he overturneth them
in the night,
so that
they are destroyed.
For truly my words
shall not be false:
he that is
perfect in knowledge
is with thee.
Dost thou
know the balancings
of the clouds,
the wondrous works
of him which
is perfect
in knowledge?
I know that
thou canst
do every thing,
and that no
thought
can be withholden
from thee.
For the LORD
knoweth
the way
of the righteous:
but the way
of the ungodly shall perish.
Oh let
the wickedness
of the wicked
come to an end;
but establish
the just:
for the righteous God
trieth the hearts
and reins.
He hath said
in his heart,
God hath forgotten:
he hideth his face;
he will never see it.
The LORD
is in his holy temple,
the LORD's throne
is in heaven:
his eyes behold,
his eyelids try,
the children
of men.
The LORD looketh
from heaven;
he beholdeth all the sons
of men.
From the place
of his habitation
he looketh
upon all
the inhabitants
of the earth.
He fashioneth their hearts alike;
he considereth all
their works.
The LORD
knoweth
the days
of the upright:
and their inheritance
shall be
for ever.
Lord,
all my desire
is before thee;
and my groaning
is not hid from thee.
Shall not
God search
this out?
for he knoweth
the secrets
of the heart.
He ruleth by his power
for ever;
his eyes
behold the nations:
let not
the rebellious
exalt themselves.
Selah.
Thou hast known
my reproach,
and my shame,
and my dishonour:
mine adversaries
are all
before thee.
And they say,
How doth
God know?
and is there knowledge
in the most High?
O LORD,
how great
are
thy works!
and thy
thoughts are very deep.
He that
planted the ear,
shall
he not hear?
he that
formed the eye,
shall he not see?
He that
chastiseth the heathen,
shall not
he correct?
he that
teacheth man knowledge,
shall not he know?
The LORD
knoweth
the thoughts
of man,
that they
are vanity.
For he
knoweth our frame;
he remembereth that
we are dust.
O LORD,
how manifold
are
thy works!
in wisdom
hast
thou made them all:
the earth
is full of
thy riches.
I have kept
thy precepts
and thy testimonies:
for all my ways
are before thee.
He will not suffer
thy foot
to be moved:
he that
keepeth
thee will not slumber.
Behold,
he that
keepeth
Israel shall neither slumber
nor sleep.
To him
that by wisdom made
the heavens:
for his mercy
endureth for ever.
O lord,
thou hast searched me,
and known me.
Thou knowest
my downsitting and mine uprising,
thou understandest
my thought afar off.
Thou compassest
my path
and my lying down,
and art
acquainted
with all my ways.
For there is not
a word
in my tongue,
but,
lo,
O LORD,
thou knowest it altogether.
Such knowledge
is too wonderful
for me;
it is high,
I cannot attain
unto it.
Yea,
the darkness
hideth not
from thee;
but the night
shineth as the day:
the darkness
and the light
are both alike
to thee.
I will praise thee;
for I
am fearfully
and wonderfully made:
marvellous
are
thy works;
and
that my soul
knoweth right well.
My substance
was not
hid from thee,
when
I was made
in secret,
and curiously wrought
in the lowest parts
of the earth.
Thine eyes
did see
my substance,
yet being unperfect;
and in thy
book all my members
were written,
which in continuance
were fashioned,
when
as yet there was
none of them.
When my spirit
was overwhelmed within me,
then
thou knewest my path.
In the way
wherein I
walked
have
they privily laid
a snare
for me.
He telleth the number
of the stars;
he calleth them
all by their names.
Great is our Lord,
and
of great power:
his understanding
is infinite.
The LORD
by wisdom
hath founded
the earth;
by understanding
hath
he established
the heavens.
By his knowledge
the depths
are broken up,
and the clouds
drop
down the dew.
For the ways
of man
are before the eyes
of the LORD,
and
he pondereth all
his goings.
The eyes
of the LORD
are in every place,
beholding the evil
and the good.
Hell
and destruction
are before the LORD:
how much more
then the hearts
of the children
of men?
All the ways
of a man
are clean
in his own eyes;
but the LORD
weigheth the spirits.
The fining
pot
is for silver,
and the furnace
for gold:
but the LORD
trieth the hearts.
If thou sayest,
Behold,
we knew it not;
doth not
he that
pondereth
the heart
consider it?
and
he that
keepeth thy soul,
doth not
he know it?
and shall not
he render
to every man
according to his works?
This also cometh forth
from the LORD
of hosts,
which is wonderful
in counsel,
and excellent
in working.
Woe unto them that seek deep
to hide their counsel
from the LORD,
and their works
are in the dark,
and they say,
Who seeth us?
and
who knoweth us?
Surely your turning
of things upside
down shall be esteemed
as the potter's clay:
for shall
the work
say of him that
made it,
He made me not?
or shall
the thing
framed
say of him that
framed it,
He had
no understanding?
But
I know thy abode,
and thy going out,
and thy coming in,
and thy
rage against me.
Who hath directed
the Spirit
of the LORD,
or being
his counsellor
hath taught him?
With whom
took
he counsel,
and
who instructed him,
and taught him
in the path
of judgment,
and taught him
knowledge,
and shewed
to him the way
of understanding?
Why sayest thou,
O Jacob,
and speakest,
O Israel,
My way
is hid from the LORD,
and my judgment
is passed over
from my God?
Hast
thou not known?
hast
thou not heard,
that the everlasting God,
the LORD,
the Creator
of the ends
of the earth,
fainteth not,
neither is weary?
there is
no
searching
of his understanding.
Who hath wrought
and done it,
calling the generations
from the beginning?
I the LORD,
the first,
and
with the last;
I am he.
Behold,
the former things
are come to pass,
and new things
do
I declare:
before they spring
forth I
tell you
of them.
And who,
as I,
shall call,
and shall declare it,
and set it
in order for me,
since I
appointed
the ancient people?
and the things
that are coming,
and shall come,
let them
shew unto them.
For Jacob
my servant's sake,
and Israel mine elect,
I have even called thee
by thy name:
I have surnamed thee,
though thou
hast not known me.
Declaring the end
from the beginning,
and from ancient
times
the things
that are not yet done,
saying,
My counsel
shall stand,
and
I will do all
my pleasure:
I have
even from the beginning
declared
it to thee;
before it
came to pass
I shewed it thee:
lest
thou shouldest say,
Mine idol
hath done them,
and my graven image,
and my molten image,
hath commanded them.
Thou hast heard,
see all this;
and will not
ye declare it?
I have shewed
thee new things
from this time,
even hidden
things,
and
thou didst not know them.
For I
know their works
and their thoughts:
it shall come,
that I
will gather all nations
and tongues;
and
they shall come,
and see
my glory.
O LORD,
are not
thine eyes
upon the truth?
thou hast stricken them,
but
they have not grieved;
thou hast consumed them,
but
they have refused
to receive correction:
they have made
their faces harder
than a rock;
they have refused
to return.
Who would not fear thee,
O King
of nations?
for to thee
doth
it appertain:
forasmuch
as among all
the wise men
of the nations,
and
in all their kingdoms,
there is none like
unto thee.
But,
O LORD of hosts,
that judgest righteously,
that triest
the reins
and the heart,
let me
see thy vengeance
on them:
for unto thee
have
I revealed
my cause.
I the LORD
search
the heart,
I try the reins,
even
to give every man
according to his ways,
and
according to
the fruit
of his doings.
Can any
hide himself
in secret
places
that I
shall not see him?
saith the LORD.
Do not
I fill heaven
and earth?
saith the LORD.
Great in counsel,
and mighty
in work:
for thine
eyes
are open
upon all the ways
of the sons
of men:
to give every one
according to his ways,
and
according to
the fruit
of his doings:
He hath made
the earth
by his power,
he hath established
the world
by his wisdom,
and hath stretched out
the heaven
by his understanding.
Then said
he unto me,
The iniquity
of the house
of Israel
and Judah
is exceeding great,
and the land
is full of blood,
and the city full of perverseness:
for they say,
The LORD
hath forsaken
the earth,
and the LORD
seeth not.
And
the Spirit
of the LORD
fell upon me,
and said unto me,
Speak;
Thus saith the LORD;
Thus
have
ye said,
O house
of Israel:
for I
know
the things that
come
into your mind,
every one
of them.
Daniel
answered
and said,
Blessed
be
the name
of God
for ever
and ever:
for wisdom
and might
are his:
He revealeth
the deep
and secret things:
he knoweth what
is in the darkness,
and the light
dwelleth with him.
But there is
a God in heaven
that revealeth secrets,
and maketh
known
to the king Nebuchadnezzar what
shall be
in the latter days.
Thy dream,
and the visions
of thy
head
upon thy bed,
are these;
For, lo,
he that
formeth the mountains,
and createth the wind,
and declareth unto man
what is his thought,
that maketh the morning darkness,
and treadeth
upon the high places
of the earth,
The LORD,
The God of hosts,
is his name.
Though they
dig
into hell,
thence shall
mine hand
take them;
though they
climb up to heaven,
thence will
I bring them down:
And
though they
hide themselves
in the top
of Carmel,
I will search
and take them
out thence;
and
though they
be hid from my sight
in the bottom
of the sea,
thence will
I command
the serpent,
and
he shall bite them:
And
though they
go into captivity
before their enemies,
thence will
I command
the sword,
and it
shall slay them:
and I
will set
mine
eyes
upon them
for evil,
and not for good.
That thine alms
may be in secret:
and thy Father
which seeth in secret
himself
shall reward
thee openly.
That thou
appear not
unto men to fast,
but unto thy Father
which is in secret:
and thy Father,
which seeth in secret,
shall reward
thee openly.
(For
after all
these things
do the Gentiles seek:)
for your heavenly Father
knoweth that
ye have
need
of all these things.
Are not
two sparrows
sold
for a farthing?
and one
of them shall not fall
on the ground
without your Father.
But the very hairs
of your head
are all numbered.
But
of that day
and hour
knoweth
no man,
no,
not the angels
of heaven,
but my Father only.
And
he said unto them,
Ye are they which
justify yourselves
before men;
but God
knoweth your hearts:
for that
which is highly esteemed
among men
is abomination
in the sight
of God.
And they prayed,
and said,
Thou, Lord,
which knowest
the hearts
of all men,
shew
whether of these two
thou hast chosen,
Him,
being delivered
by the determinate
counsel
and foreknowledge
of God,
ye have taken,
and
by wicked hands
have crucified
and slain:
And God,
which knoweth the hearts,
bare them witness,
giving them
the Holy Ghost,
even as
he did unto us;
And he
that
searcheth
the hearts
knoweth
what is the mind
of the Spirit,
because
he maketh intercession
for the saints
according to
the will
of God.
For whom
he did foreknow,
he also did predestinate
to be conformed
to the image
of his Son,
that he
might be the firstborn
among many brethren.
O the depth
of the riches both
of the wisdom
and knowledge
of God!
how unsearchable
are his judgments,
and his ways
past finding out!
For who
hath known the mind
of the Lord?
or who
hath been
his counsellor?
Because the foolishness
of God
is wiser
than men;
and the weakness
of God
is stronger
than men.
But we
speak
the wisdom
of God
in a mystery,
even the hidden wisdom,
which God
ordained
before the world
unto our glory:
And again,
The Lord
knoweth
the thoughts
of the wise,
that they
are vain.
But
if any man
love God,
the same
is known of him.
But now,
after that
ye have known God,
or rather are known
of God,
how turn
ye again to the weak
and beggarly elements,
whereunto
ye desire again
to be
in bondage?
Wherein he
hath abounded toward us
in all wisdom
and prudence;
To the intent
that now unto the principalities
and powers
in heavenly places
might be known
by the church the manifold wisdom
of God,
But as we
were allowed
of God
to be put in
trust
with the gospel,
even so
we speak;
not as pleasing men,
but God,
which trieth our hearts.
Now unto the King eternal,
immortal,
invisible,
the only wise God,
be honour
and glory
for ever and ever.
Amen.
Nevertheless
the foundation
of God
standeth sure,
having this seal,
The Lord
knoweth them
that are his.
And,
Let every one that
nameth the name
of Christ
depart
from iniquity.
Neither is there
any creature
that is not
manifest
in his sight:
but all things
are naked
and opened
unto the eyes
of him with whom
we have to do.
Elect according to
the foreknowledge
of God the Father,
through sanctification
of the Spirit,
unto obedience
and sprinkling
of the blood
of Jesus Christ:
Grace unto you,
and peace,
be multiplied.
This
then is the message
which we
have heard of him,
and declare
unto you,
that God
is light,
and
in him is no darkness
at all.
For if
our heart
condemn us,
God is greater than
our heart,
and knoweth all things.
