And
the angel
of the LORD
appeared unto him
in a flame
of fire
out of the midst
of a bush:
and he looked,
and,
behold,
the bush
burned with fire,
and the bush
was not consumed.
And mount Sinai
was altogether
on a smoke,
because
the LORD
descended
upon it
in fire:
and the smoke
thereof ascended
as the smoke
of a furnace,
and the whole mount
quaked greatly.
And
they saw
the God
of Israel:
and there was
under his feet as it
were
a paved
work
of a sapphire stone,
and as it
were the body
of heaven
in his clearness.
And the sight
of the glory
of the LORD
was like
devouring
fire
on the top
of the mount
in the eyes
of the children
of Israel.
And he said,
Thou canst
not see my face:
for there shall no man
see me,
and live.
And it
shall come
to pass,
while my glory passeth by,
that I
will put thee
in a clift
of the rock,
and will cover thee
with my hand
while I
pass by:
And the LORD
descended
in the cloud,
and stood
with him there,
and proclaimed
the name
of the LORD.
Then a cloud
covered
the tent
of the congregation,
and the glory
of the LORD
filled the tabernacle.
And Moses
was not able
to enter
into the tent
of the congregation,
because the cloud abode thereon,
and the glory
of the LORD
filled the tabernacle.
For the LORD
your God
is God of gods,
and Lord
of lords,
a great God,
a mighty,
and a terrible,
which regardeth not persons,
nor taketh reward:
If thou
wilt not observe
to do all
the words
of this law
that are written
in this book,
that thou
mayest fear
this glorious
and fearful name,
THE LORD THY GOD;
And he said,
The LORD
came from Sinai,
and rose up
from Seir
unto them;
he shined
forth from
mount Paran,
and he
came
with ten thousands of saints:
from his right hand
went
a fiery law
for them.
There is none like
unto the God
of Jeshurun,
who rideth upon the heaven
in thy help,
and
in his excellency
on the sky.
And after the earthquake a fire;
but the LORD
was not
in the fire:
and
after the fire
a still small voice.
For he
is not a man,
as I am,
that I
should answer him,
and
we should come together
in judgment.
Neither is there
any daysman
betwixt us,
that might lay
his hand
upon us both.
Shall not
his excellency
make
you afraid?
and his dread fall
upon you?
Is not God
in the height
of heaven?
and behold
the height
of the stars,
how high
they are!
Is there any number
of his armies?
and
upon whom doth not
his light arise?
Look
unto the heavens,
and see;
and behold
the clouds which
are higher
than thou.
If thou sinnest,
what doest
thou against him?
or if thy transgressions
be multiplied,
what doest
thou unto him?
If thou
be righteous,
what givest
thou him?
or what
receiveth
he of thine hand?
God thundereth marvellously
with his voice;
great things
doeth he,
which we
cannot comprehend.
Fair
weather
cometh out of the north:
with God
is terrible majesty.
O LORD our Lord,
how excellent
is
thy name
in all the earth!
He bowed
the heavens also,
and came down:
and darkness
was under his feet.
And
he rode upon a cherub,
and did fly:
yea,
he did fly upon the wings
of the wind.
He made darkness
his secret place;
his pavilion round
about him were dark waters
and thick clouds
of the skies.
The heavens
declare the glory
of God;
and the firmament
sheweth his handywork.
Who is this King
of glory?
The LORD strong
and mighty,
the LORD mighty
in battle.
Lift
up your heads,
O ye gates;
even lift them up,
ye everlasting doors;
and the King
of glory
shall come in.
Give
unto the LORD the glory due
unto his name;
worship the LORD
in the beauty
of holiness.
Be still,
and know
that I
am God:
I will be exalted
among the heathen,
I will be exalted
in the earth.
Be thou exalted,
O God,
above the heavens;
let thy
glory
be above all
the earth.
They have seen
thy goings,
O God;
even the goings
of my God,
my King,
in the sanctuary.
Blessed
be the LORD God,
the God
of Israel,
who only doeth
wondrous things.
And blessed
be his glorious name
for ever:
and let
the whole earth
be filled
with his glory;
Amen,
and Amen.
Thou art
more glorious
and excellent
than the mountains
of prey.
Declare his glory
among the heathen,
his wonders
among all people.
For the LORD
is great,
and greatly
to be praised:
he is
to be feared above all gods.
Honour
and majesty
are
before him:
strength
and beauty
are in his sanctuary.
Give
unto the LORD,
O ye kindreds
of the people,
give
unto the LORD glory
and strength.
Clouds
and darkness
are round
about him:
righteousness
and judgment
are the habitation
of his throne.
The heavens
declare his righteousness,
and all
the people
see
his glory.
For thou,
LORD,
art high above all the earth:
thou art exalted far above all
gods.
When the LORD
shall build up Zion,
he shall appear
in his glory.
When the people
are gathered together,
and the kingdoms,
to serve the LORD.
The glory
of the LORD
shall endure
for ever:
the LORD
shall rejoice
in his works.
Nevertheless
he saved them
for his name's sake,
that he
might make
his mighty power
to be known.
The LORD
is high above all nations,
and his glory above
the heavens.
I will speak
of the glorious honour
of thy majesty,
and of thy wondrous works.
They shall speak
of the glory
of thy kingdom,
and talk
of thy power;
To make
known
to the sons
of men his mighty acts,
and the glorious majesty
of his kingdom.
Therefore saith
the LORD,
the LORD
of hosts,
the mighty One
of Israel, Ah,
I will ease me
of mine adversaries,
and avenge me
of mine enemies:
Enter
into the rock,
and hide thee
in the dust,
for fear
of the LORD,
and for the glory
of his majesty.
In the year
that king Uzziah
died
I saw also
the LORD
sitting
upon a throne,
high
and lifted up,
and his train
filled the temple.
And one
cried
unto another,
and said,
Holy,
holy,
holy,
is the LORD
of hosts:
the whole earth
is full of
his glory.
Cry out and shout,
thou inhabitant
of Zion:
for great
is the Holy One
of Israel
in the midst
of thee.
Then the moon
shall be confounded,
and the sun ashamed,
when the LORD
of hosts
shall reign
in mount Zion,
and in Jerusalem,
and
before his ancients gloriously.
Thou hast increased
the nation,
O LORD,
thou hast increased
the nation:
thou art glorified:
thou hadst
removed it far
unto all
the ends
of the earth.
In that day
shall the LORD
of hosts
be for a crown
of glory,
and for a diadem
of beauty,
unto the residue
of his people,
But
when
he seeth his children,
the work
of mine hands,
in the midst
of him,
they shall sanctify
my name,
and sanctify
the Holy One
of Jacob,
and shall fear
the God
of Israel.
And the LORD
shall cause
his glorious voice
to be heard,
and shall shew
the lighting down
of his arm,
with the indignation
of his anger,
and
with the flame
of a devouring fire,
with scattering,
and tempest,
and hailstones.
The LORD
is exalted;
for he
dwelleth on high:
he hath filled Zion
with judgment
and righteousness.
Now will
I rise,
saith the LORD;
now will
I be exalted;
now will
I lift
up myself.
It shall blossom abundantly,
and rejoice
even with joy
and singing:
the glory
of Lebanon
shall be given
unto it,
the excellency
of Carmel
and Sharon,
they shall see the glory
of the LORD,
and the excellency
of our God.
And
the glory
of the LORD
shall be revealed,
and all flesh
shall see it
together:
for the mouth
of the LORD
hath spoken it.
Even every one
that is called
by my name:
for I
have created him
for my glory,
I have formed him;
yea,
I have made him.
This people
have
I formed
for myself;
they shall shew
forth my praise.
Sing,
O ye heavens;
for the LORD
hath done it:
shout,
ye lower
parts
of the earth:
break forth
into singing,
ye mountains,
O forest,
and every tree
therein:
for the LORD
hath redeemed Jacob,
and glorified himself
in Israel.
For mine own sake,
even for mine own sake,
will
I do it:
for how should
my name
be polluted?
and
I will not give
my glory
unto another.
And said unto me,
Thou art my servant,
O Israel,
in whom
I will be glorified.
And I
will feed them
that oppress thee
with their own flesh;
and
they shall be drunken
with their own blood,
as with sweet wine:
and all flesh
shall know
that I
the LORD
am thy Saviour
and thy Redeemer,
the mighty One
of Jacob.
The LORD
hath made
bare his holy arm
in the eyes
of all the nations;
and all
the ends
of the earth
shall see
the salvation
of our God.
For as the heavens
are higher
than the earth,
so are
my ways higher
than your ways,
and my thoughts
than your thoughts.
For thus
saith the high
and lofty One
that inhabiteth eternity,
whose name
is Holy;
I dwell
in the high
and holy place,
with him also that is
of a contrite
and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit
of the humble,
and
to revive
the heart
of the contrite
ones.
Arise,
shine;
for thy
light
is come,
and
the glory
of the LORD
is risen
upon thee.
For,
behold,
the darkness
shall cover
the earth,
and gross darkness
the people:
but the LORD
shall arise
upon thee,
and his glory
shall be seen
upon thee.
The multitude
of camels
shall cover thee,
the dromedaries
of Midian
and Ephah;
all
they from Sheba
shall come:
they shall bring gold
and incense;
and
they shall shew
forth the praises
of the LORD.
The sun
shall be
no more thy
light
by day;
neither for brightness
shall
the moon
give
light
unto thee:
but the LORD
shall be
unto thee
an everlasting light,
and thy God thy glory.
Thy sun
shall no more go down;
neither shall
thy moon
withdraw itself:
for the LORD
shall be
thine everlasting light,
and the days
of thy
mourning
shall be ended.
Thy people
also shall be all righteous:
they shall inherit the land
for ever,
the branch
of my planting,
the work
of my hands,
that I
may be glorified.
To appoint
unto them that
mourn in Zion,
to give
unto them beauty
for ashes,
the oil
of joy
for mourning,
the garment
of praise
for the spirit
of heaviness;
that they
might be called trees
of righteousness,
the planting
of the LORD,
that he
might be glorified.
Thou shalt also be a crown
of glory
in the hand
of the LORD,
and a royal diadem
in the hand
of thy God.
That led them
by the right hand
of Moses
with his glorious arm,
dividing the water
before them,
to make himself
an everlasting name?
Thus saith the LORD,
The heaven
is my throne,
and the earth
is my footstool:
where is the house
that ye
build
unto me?
and
where is the place
of my rest?
For all
those things
hath
mine hand made,
and all those things
have been,
saith the LORD:
but to this man
will
I look,
even to him
that is poor and
of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at my word.
For I
know their works
and their thoughts:
it shall come,
that I
will gather all nations
and tongues;
and
they shall come,
and see
my glory.
For as the girdle
cleaveth to the loins
of a man,
so have
I caused
to cleave
unto me the whole house
of Israel
and the whole house
of Judah,
saith the LORD;
that they
might be
unto me
for a people,
and for a name,
and for a praise,
and for a glory:
but
they would not hear.
A glorious high throne
from the beginning
is the place
of our sanctuary.
And it
shall be
to me a name
of joy,
a praise
and an honour
before all
the nations
of the earth,
which shall hear all
the good
that I
do unto them:
and
they shall fear
and tremble
for all the goodness
and
for all
the prosperity that
I procure
unto it.
And above
the firmament
that was over their heads
was the likeness
of a throne,
as the appearance
of a sapphire stone:
and
upon the likeness
of the throne
was the likeness
as the appearance
of a man above
upon it.
And I
saw
as the colour
of amber,
as the appearance
of fire round about
within it,
from the appearance
of his loins
even upward,
and
from the appearance
of his loins
even downward,
I saw as it
were the appearance
of fire,
and it
had brightness round about.
As the appearance
of the bow
that is
in the cloud
in the day
of rain,
so was the appearance
of the brightness round about.
This was the appearance
of the likeness
of the glory
of the LORD.
And
when I
saw it,
I fell
upon my face,
and
I heard
a voice
of one that spake.
Then the spirit
took me up,
and I
heard
behind me a voice
of a great rushing,
saying,
Blessed
be the glory
of the LORD
from his place.
Then I arose,
and went forth
into the plain:
and,
behold,
the glory
of the LORD
stood there,
as the glory
which I
saw
by the river
of Chebar:
and I
fell
on my face.
And,
behold,
the glory
of the God
of Israel
was there,
according to
the vision
that I
saw
in the plain.
But I
wrought
for my name's sake,
that it
should not be polluted
before the heathen,
in whose sight
I brought them out.
And
ye shall know that
I am the LORD
when
I have wrought
with you
for my name's sake,
not according to
your wicked ways,
nor
according to
your corrupt doings,
O ye
house
of Israel,
saith the Lord GOD.
Therefore say
unto the house
of Israel,
thus saith the Lord GOD;
I do not this
for your sakes,
O house
of Israel,
but for mine
holy name's sake,
which ye
have profaned
among the heathen,
whither ye went.
And
I will sanctify
my great name,
which was profaned
among the heathen,
which ye
have profaned
in the midst
of them;
and the heathen
shall know
that I
am the LORD,
saith the Lord GOD,
when
I shall be sanctified
in you
before their eyes.
And
the glory
of the LORD
came
into the house
by the way
of the gate
whose prospect
is toward
the east.
So the spirit
took me up,
and brought me
into the inner court;
and,
behold,
the glory
of the LORD
filled the house.
God came
from Teman,
and the Holy One
from mount Paran.
Selah.
His glory
covered the heavens,
and the earth
was full of
his praise.
And his brightness
was as the light;
he had horns
coming out of his hand:
and there was
the hiding
of his power.
Before him
went the pestilence,
and burning coals
went forth
at his feet.
After this manner
therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art
in heaven,
Hallowed
be thy name.
Glory to God
in the highest,
and
on earth peace,
good will
toward men.
And I
seek not mine own glory:
there is
one that
seeketh and judgeth.
Father,
glorify thy name.
Then came there
a voice
from heaven,
saying,
I have both glorified it,
and will glorify it again.
Therefore,
when
he was gone out,
Jesus said,
Now is the Son
of man glorified,
and God
is glorified in him.
And whatsoever
ye shall ask
in my name,
that will
I do,
that the Father
may be glorified
in the Son.
These words
spake Jesus,
and lifted
up his eyes
to heaven,
and said,
Father,
the hour
is come;
glorify thy Son,
that thy Son
also may glorify thee:
And all mine
are thine,
and thine
are mine;
and
I am glorified in them.
But he,
being full of
the Holy Ghost,
looked up
stedfastly into heaven,
and saw
the glory
of God,
and Jesus
standing
on the right hand
of God,
And changed
the glory
of the uncorruptible God
into an image made like
to corruptible man,
and to birds,
and fourfooted beasts,
and creeping things.
For of him,
and through him,
and to him,
are all things:
to whom
be glory
for ever.
Amen.
For all the promises
of God
in him are yea,
and in him Amen,
unto the glory
of God by us.
For all
things are for your sakes,
that the abundant grace
might through the thanksgiving
of many redound
to the glory
of God.
To the praise
of the glory
of his grace,
wherein he
hath made us
accepted
in the beloved.
That we
should be to the praise
of his glory,
who first trusted
in Christ.
Which is the earnest
of our inheritance
until the redemption
of the purchased possession,
unto the praise
of his glory.
That in the ages
to come
he might shew
the exceeding riches
of his grace
in his kindness
toward us
through Christ Jesus.
Unto him be glory
in the church
by Christ Jesus
throughout all ages,
world without end.
Amen.
Being filled
with the fruits
of righteousness,
which are by Jesus Christ,
unto the glory
and praise
of God.
And
that every tongue
should confess
that Jesus Christ
is Lord,
to the glory
of God the Father.
But my God
shall supply all
your need
according to his riches
in glory
by Christ Jesus.
Which in his times
he shall shew,
who is the blessed
and only Potentate,
the King
of kings,
and Lord
of lords;
Who only hath
immortality,
dwelling
in the light which no man
can approach unto;
whom no man
hath seen,
nor can see:
to whom
be honour
and power everlasting.
Amen.
For ye are not come
unto the mount
that might be touched,
and that
burned
with fire,
nor
unto blackness,
and darkness,
and tempest,
And the sound
of a trumpet,
and the voice
of words;
which voice
they
that heard
intreated
that the word
should not be spoken
to them any more:
(For they
could not endure
that which
was commanded,
And
if so much as
a beast
touch the mountain,
it shall be stoned,
or thrust through
with a dart:
And so terrible
was the sight,
that Moses said,
I exceedingly fear
and quake:)
To the
only wise God our Saviour,
be glory
and majesty,
dominion
and power,
both now
and ever.
Amen.
Thou art worthy,
O Lord,
to receive
glory
and honour and power:
for thou
hast created
all things,
and for thy pleasure
they are
and were created.
And the temple
was filled
with smoke
from the glory
of God,
and
from his power;
and no man
was able
to enter
into the temple,
till the seven plagues
of the seven angels
were fulfilled.
And
he carried me away
in the spirit
to a great
and high mountain,
and shewed me
that great city,
the holy Jerusalem,
descending out of heaven
from God,
Having the glory
of God:
and her light
was like
unto a stone most precious,
even like
a jasper stone,
clear
as crystal;
And the city
had no
need
of the sun,
neither of the moon,
to shine in it:
for the glory
of God
did lighten it,
and the Lamb
is
the light thereof.
