And
he shall be like
a tree
planted
by the rivers
of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit
in his season;
his leaf
also shall not wither;
and whatsoever
he doeth
shall prosper.
Lord,
who shall abide in
thy tabernacle?
who shall dwell
in thy holy hill?
He that
walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh
the truth
in his heart.
Who shall ascend
into the hill
of the LORD?
or who
shall stand
in his holy place?
He that
hath clean hands,
and a pure heart;
who hath not lifted
up his soul
unto vanity,
nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing
from the LORD,
and righteousness
from the God
of his salvation.
I will set
no wicked thing
before mine eyes:
I hate
the work
of them that turn aside;
it shall not cleave to me.
A froward heart
shall depart from me:
I will not know
a wicked person.
Blessed
are
they that
keep judgment,
and he
that doeth righteousness
at all times.
Unto the upright
there ariseth
light
in the darkness:
he is gracious,
and full of compassion,
and righteous.
He shall not be afraid
of evil tidings:
his heart
is fixed,
trusting
in the LORD.
His heart
is established,
he shall not be afraid,
until he
see his desire
upon his enemies.
He layeth
up sound wisdom
for the righteous:
he is a buckler
to them that walk uprightly.
Discretion shall preserve thee,
understanding shall keep thee:
That thou
mayest walk
in the way
of good men,
and keep
the paths
of the righteous.
Treasures
of wickedness
profit nothing:
but righteousness
delivereth from death.
The righteousness
of the perfect
shall direct
his way:
but the wicked
shall fall
by his own wickedness.
The righteousness
of the upright
shall deliver them:
but transgressors
shall be taken
in their own naughtiness.
The wicked
worketh a deceitful work:
but to him
that
soweth
righteousness
shall be
a sure reward.
As righteousness
tendeth to life:
so he
that
pursueth
evil pursueth it
to his own death.
The fruit
of the righteous
is a tree
of life;
and he
that
winneth
souls is wise.
In the way
of righteousness
is life:
and
in the pathway
thereof there is
no death.
Righteousness
keepeth him
that is upright
in the way:
but wickedness
overthroweth the sinner.
Righteousness exalteth a nation:
but sin
is a reproach
to any people.
And
the work
of righteousness
shall be peace;
and the effect
of righteousness quietness
and assurance
for ever.
He that
walketh righteously,
and speaketh uprightly;
he that
despiseth
the gain
of oppressions,
that shaketh
his hands
from holding
of bribes,
that stoppeth
his ears
from hearing
of blood,
and shutteth
his eyes
from seeing evil;
He shall dwell
on high:
his place
of defence
shall be the munitions
of rocks:
bread shall be given him;
his waters shall be sure.
For ye
shall go out
with joy,
and be led forth
with peace:
the mountains
and the hills
shall break forth
before you
into singing,
and all
the trees
of the field
shall clap
their hands.
Instead of the thorn
shall come
up the fir tree,
and
instead of the brier
shall come
up the myrtle tree:
and it
shall be to the LORD
for a name,
for an everlasting
sign that
shall not be cut off.
Is not
this the fast that
I have chosen?
to loose the bands
of wickedness,
to undo
the heavy burdens,
and to let
the oppressed
go free,
and that
ye break
every yoke?
Is it
not
to deal thy bread
to the hungry,
and
that thou
bring
the poor
that
are cast out
to thy house?
when
thou seest the naked,
that thou
cover him;
and
that thou
hide not thyself
from thine own flesh?
Then shall
thy light
break forth
as the morning,
and thine health
shall spring
forth speedily:
and thy righteousness
shall go
before thee;
the glory
of the LORD
shall be
thy rereward.
Then shalt
thou call,
and the LORD
shall answer;
thou shalt cry,
and he
shall say,
Here I am.
If thou
take away
from the midst
of thee the yoke,
the putting forth
of the finger,
and speaking vanity;
And
if thou
draw out thy soul
to the hungry,
and satisfy
the afflicted soul;
then shall
thy light
rise
in obscurity,
and thy darkness
be
as the noon day:
And the LORD
shall guide
thee continually,
and satisfy
thy soul
in drought,
and make fat
thy bones:
and
thou shalt be like
a watered garden,
and like
a spring
of water,
whose waters
fail not.
And
they
that shall be
of thee
shall build
the old waste places:
thou shalt raise
up the foundations
of many generations;
and
thou shalt be called,
The repairer
of the breach,
The restorer
of paths
to dwell in.
If thou
turn away thy
foot
from the sabbath,
from doing
thy pleasure
on my holy day;
and call
the sabbath a delight,
the holy
of the LORD,
honourable;
and shalt honour him,
not doing
thine own ways,
nor finding
thine own pleasure,
nor speaking thine own words:
Then shalt thou
delight thyself
in the LORD;
and I
will cause
thee
to ride
upon the high places
of the earth,
and feed thee
with the heritage
of Jacob
thy father:
for the mouth
of the LORD
hath spoken it.
And
they that
be wise
shall shine
as the brightness
of the firmament;
and
they that turn many
to righteousness
as the stars
for ever and ever.
Sow to yourselves
in righteousness,
reap in mercy;
break up
your fallow ground:
for it
is time
to seek the LORD,
till he come
and rain righteousness
upon you.
And he
shall sit
as a refiner
and purifier
of silver:
and
he shall purify
the sons
of Levi,
and purge them
as gold
and silver,
that they
may offer
unto the LORD
an offering
in righteousness.
But unto you
that fear my name
shall the Sun
of righteousness
arise
with healing
in his wings;
and
ye shall go forth,
and grow up
as calves
of the stall.
For I
say unto you,
That except
your righteousness
shall exceed
the righteousness
of the scribes
and Pharisees,
ye shall in no
case
enter
into the kingdom
of heaven.
A good man
out of the good treasure
of the heart
bringeth forth good things:
and
an evil man
out of the evil treasure
bringeth forth evil things.
He that is
of God heareth God's words:
ye therefore hear them not,
because
ye are not
of God.
Jesus
answered
and
said unto him,
If a man
love me,
he will keep
my words:
and my Father
will love him,
and
we will come unto him,
and make
our abode
with him.
Abide in me,
and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit
of itself,
except it
abide in
the vine;
no more
can ye,
except ye
abide in me.
I am the vine,
ye are the branches:
He that abideth in me,
and
I in him,
the same
bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye
can do nothing.
I speak
after the manner
of men
because
of the infirmity
of your flesh:
for as ye
have yielded
your members servants
to uncleanness
and to iniquity
unto iniquity;
even so now yield
your members servants
to righteousness
unto holiness.
For when
ye were the servants
of sin,
ye were
free
from righteousness.
What fruit
had ye
then
in those things
whereof
ye are now ashamed?
for the end
of those things
is death.
But now being made
free
from sin,
and become servants
to God,
ye have
your fruit
unto holiness,
and the end
everlasting life.
That the righteousness
of the law
might be fulfilled in us,
who walk not
after the flesh,
but after the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded
is death;
but
to be spiritually minded
is life
and peace.
For the kingdom
of God
is not meat
and drink;
but righteousness,
and peace,
and joy
in the Holy Ghost.
For he
that in these things
serveth
Christ is acceptable
to God,
and approved
of men.
Therefore if any man
be in Christ,
he is a new creature:
old things
are passed away;
behold,
all things
are become new.
Now he that
ministereth
seed
to the sower both minister bread
for your food,
and multiply
your seed sown,
and increase
the fruits
of your righteousness;)
Casting
down imaginations,
and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge
of God,
and bringing
into captivity every thought
to the obedience
of Christ;
But
the fruit
of the Spirit
is love,
joy,
peace,
longsuffering,
gentleness,
goodness,
faith,
Meekness,
temperance:
against such
there is no law.
Be not deceived;
God is not mocked:
for whatsoever
a man soweth,
that shall
he also reap.
For he
that
soweth to his flesh
shall of the flesh
reap corruption;
but
he that
soweth to the Spirit
shall of the Spirit
reap life everlasting.
(For
the fruit
of the Spirit
is in all goodness
and righteousness
and truth;)
Being filled
with the fruits
of righteousness,
which are by Jesus Christ,
unto the glory
and praise
of God.
Only let
your conversation
be as it
becometh
the gospel
of Christ:
that whether
I come
and see you,
or else
be absent,
I may hear
of your affairs,
that ye
stand
fast
in one spirit,
with one mind
striving together
for the faith
of the gospel;
And
in nothing
terrified
by your adversaries:
which is
to them
an evident token
of perdition,
but to you
of salvation,
and that of God.
For it
is
God which
worketh in you both to
will
and
to do
of his good pleasure.
And have put on
the new man,
which is renewed in knowledge
after the image
of him that
created him:
Flee also youthful lusts:
but follow
righteousness,
faith,
charity,
peace,
with them that
call on the Lord
out of a pure heart.
Henceforth there is laid up
for me a crown
of righteousness,
which the Lord,
the righteous judge,
shall give me
at that day:
and not to me only,
but unto all them
also that love
his appearing.
That the communication
of thy faith
may become effectual
by the acknowledging
of every good thing
which is in you
in Christ Jesus.
Doth
a fountain
send forth
at the same place sweet water
and bitter?
Can the fig tree,
my brethren,
bear olive berries?
either a vine,
figs?
so can
no fountain both yield salt water
and fresh.
Who is a wise man
and endued
with knowledge
among you?
let him
shew
out of a good conversation
his works
with meekness
of wisdom.
But
if ye
have bitter envying
and strife
in your hearts,
glory not,
and lie not
against the truth.
This wisdom
descendeth not
from above,
but is earthly,
sensual,
devilish.
For where
envying
and strife is,
there is confusion
and every evil work.
But the wisdom
that is
from above
is first pure,
then peaceable,
gentle,
and easy
to be intreated,
full of mercy
and good fruits,
without partiality,
and
without hypocrisy.
And
the fruit
of righteousness
is sown
in peace
of them that make peace.
And beside this,
giving all diligence,
add
to your faith virtue;
and
to virtue knowledge;
And
to knowledge temperance;
and
to temperance patience;
and
to patience godliness;
And
to godliness
brotherly kindness;
and
to brotherly kindness charity.
For if these things
be in you,
and abound,
they make you
that ye
shall
neither be barren
nor unfruitful
in the knowledge
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But he
that
lacketh
these things
is blind,
and
cannot see afar off,
and hath forgotten
that he
was purged
from his old sins.
And hereby
we do know that
we know him,
if we
keep his commandments.
He that saith,
I know him,
and keepeth not
his commandments,
is a liar,
and the truth
is not in him.
But
whoso keepeth his word,
in him verily is
the love
of God perfected:
hereby know
we that
we are in him.
He that
saith
he abideth
in him ought
himself
also so to walk,
even as he walked.
He that
loveth
his brother abideth
in the light,
and there is none
occasion
of stumbling in him.
But
he that
hateth his brother
is in darkness,
and walketh in darkness,
and knoweth not whither
he goeth,
because
that darkness
hath blinded
his eyes.
Let
that therefore abide in you,
which ye
have heard
from the beginning.
If that
which ye
have heard
from the beginning
shall remain
in you,
ye also shall continue
in the Son,
and
in the Father.
If ye
know that
he is righteous,
ye know
that every one
that
doeth
righteousness
is born of him.
And every man that
hath
this hope
in him purifieth himself,
even as
he is pure.
Whosoever abideth
in him sinneth not:
whosoever
sinneth
hath not seen him,
neither known him.
Little children,
let no man
deceive you:
he that
doeth
righteousness is righteous,
even as
he is righteous.
Whosoever
is born of God
doth not commit sin;
for his seed
remaineth in him:
and
he cannot sin,
because
he is born
of God.
We know that
we have passed
from death
unto life,
because
we love
the brethren.
He that
loveth not
his brother abideth
in death.
And whatsoever
we ask,
we receive of him,
because
we keep
his commandments,
and do those things
that are pleasing
in his sight.
