And God said,
Let us
make man
in our image,
after our likeness:
and let them
have dominion
over the fish
of the sea,
and over the fowl
of the air,
and
over the cattle,
and
over all the earth,
and
over every creeping thing
that creepeth
upon the earth.
So God
created man
in his own image,
in the image
of God
created
he him;
male
and female created
he them.
And the LORD God
formed man
of the dust
of the ground,
and breathed
into his nostrils
the breath
of life;
and man
became a living soul.
This is the book
of the generations
of Adam.
In the day
that God
created man,
in the likeness
of God
made
he him;
Male
and female created
he them;
and blessed them,
and called
their name Adam,
in the day
when
they were created.
Whoso sheddeth man's blood,
by man
shall
his blood
be shed:
for in the image
of God
made he man.
Shall
mortal man
be more just
than God?
shall a man
be more pure
than his maker?
I will say
unto God,
Do not condemn me;
shew me wherefore
thou
contendest with me.
Is it good
unto thee
that thou
shouldest oppress,
that thou
shouldest despise the work
of thine hands,
and shine
upon the counsel
of the wicked?
Thine hands
have made me
and fashioned me
together round about;
yet
thou dost destroy me.
Remember,
I beseech thee,
that thou
hast made me
as the clay;
and wilt
thou bring me
into dust again?
Did not
he that
made me
in the womb make him?
and did not
one fashion us
in the womb?
The spirit of God
hath made me,
and the breath
of the Almighty
hath given me life.
How much less
to him
that accepteth not
the persons
of princes,
nor regardeth
the rich more than the poor?
for they all are
the work
of his hands.
But none saith,
Where is God
my maker,
who giveth songs
in the night;
For thou
hast made him
a little lower
than the angels,
and hast crowned him
with glory and honour.
Thou madest him
to have dominion
over the works
of thy hands;
thou hast put all things
under his feet:
All sheep
and oxen,
yea,
and the beasts
of the field;
The fowl
of the air,
and the fish
of the sea,
and
whatsoever passeth
through the paths
of the seas.
Know
ye that
the LORD
he is God:
it is
he that
hath made us,
and not
we ourselves;
we are his people,
and the sheep
of his pasture.
Thy hands
have made me
and fashioned me:
give me understanding,
that I
may learn
thy commandments.
The LORD
will perfect
that which
concerneth me:
thy mercy,
O LORD,
endureth for ever:
forsake not the works
of thine own hands.
I will praise thee;
for I
am fearfully
and wonderfully made:
marvellous
are
thy works;
and
that my soul
knoweth right well.
The LORD
hath made all things
for himself:
yea,
even the wicked
for the day
of evil.
Lo,
this only have
I found,
that God
hath made man upright;
but
they have sought out
many inventions.
At that day
shall a man
look
to his Maker,
and his eyes
shall have
respect
to the Holy One
of Israel.
Thus saith God
the LORD,
he that
created the heavens,
and
stretched them out;
he that spread
forth the earth,
and
that which
cometh out of it;
he that
giveth breath
unto the people
upon it,
and spirit
to them that walk
therein:
Even every one
that is called
by my name:
for I
have created him
for my glory,
I have formed him;
yea,
I have made him.
I have made
the earth,
and created man
upon it:
I,
even my hands,
have stretched out
the heavens,
and all
their host
have I commanded.
But now,
O LORD,
thou art
our father;
we are the clay,
and
thou our potter;
and
we all are the work
of thy hand.
I have made
the earth,
the man
and the beast that
are upon the ground,
by my great power
and by my outstretched arm,
and have given
it unto whom
it seemed
meet unto me.
The burden
of the word
of the LORD
for Israel,
saith the LORD,
which stretcheth forth the heavens,
and layeth
the foundation
of the earth,
and formeth
the spirit
of man
within him.
Have
we not all one father?
hath not
one God created us?
why do
we deal treacherously every man
against his brother,
by profaning
the covenant
of our fathers?
But from the beginning
of the creation God
made them male
and female.
For a man
indeed ought not
to cover his head,
forasmuch as he
is the image
and glory of God:
but the woman
is the glory
of the man.
As is the earthy,
such are
they also
that are earthy:
and as is
the heavenly,
such are
they also
that are heavenly.
And as we
have borne the image
of the earthy,
we shall also bear the image
of the heavenly.
Thou madest him
a little lower
than the angels;
thou crownedst him
with glory
and honour,
and didst set him
over the works
of thy hands:
Therewith bless
we God,
even the Father;
and therewith curse
we men,
which are made
after the similitude
of God.
