And God
heard
the voice
of the lad;
and
the angel
of God
called
to Hagar
out of heaven,
and said
unto her,
What aileth thee,
Hagar?
fear not;
for God
hath heard the voice
of the lad
where he is.
And the LORD
appeared
unto him the same night,
and said,
I am the God
of Abraham
thy father:
fear not,
for I
am with thee,
and will bless thee,
and multiply thy
seed
for my servant Abraham's sake.
Except the God
of my father,
the God
of Abraham,
and the fear
of Isaac,
had been with me,
surely
thou hadst
sent me
away now empty.
God hath seen
mine affliction
and the labour
of my hands,
and rebuked
thee yesternight.
And the LORD said,
I have surely seen
the affliction
of my people which
are in Egypt,
and have heard
their cry
by reason
of their taskmasters;
for I
know their sorrows;
And Moses
said
unto the people,
Fear ye not,
stand still,
and see
the salvation
of the LORD,
which he
will shew to you
to day:
for the Egyptians whom
ye have seen
to day,
ye shall see them again
no more
for ever.
The eternal God
is thy refuge,
and underneath are
the everlasting arms:
and
he shall thrust
out the enemy from
before thee;
and shall say,
Destroy them.
And the afflicted people
thou wilt save:
but thine
eyes
are upon the haughty,
that thou
mayest bring them down.
Although affliction
cometh not forth
of the dust,
neither doth trouble
spring out of the ground;
Yet man
is born
unto trouble,
as the sparks
fly upward.
I would seek
unto God,
and unto God
would
I commit
my cause:
Which doeth great things
and unsearchable;
marvellous things
without number:
Who giveth
rain
upon the earth,
and sendeth
waters
upon the fields:
To set up
on high
those that
be low;
that those
which mourn
may be exalted
to safety.
He disappointeth the devices
of the crafty,
so that
their hands
cannot perform
their enterprise.
He taketh
the wise
in their own craftiness:
and
the counsel
of the froward
is carried headlong.
They meet
with darkness
in the day time,
and grope
in the noonday
as in the night.
But he
saveth
the poor
from the sword,
from their mouth,
and from the hand
of the mighty.
So the poor
hath hope,
and iniquity
stoppeth her mouth.
Behold,
happy is the man
whom God correcteth:
therefore despise not
thou the chastening
of the Almighty:
For he
maketh sore,
and bindeth up:
he woundeth,
and his hands
make whole.
He shall deliver thee
in six troubles:
yea,
in seven
there shall
no evil touch thee.
In famine
he shall redeem thee
from death:
and in war
from the power
of the sword.
Thou shalt be
hid from the scourge
of the tongue:
neither shalt
thou be afraid
of destruction
when it cometh.
At destruction
and famine
thou shalt laugh:
neither shalt
thou be afraid
of the beasts
of the earth.
For thou
shalt be
in league
with the stones
of the field:
and the beasts
of the field
shall be
at peace
with thee.
And
thou shalt know
that thy tabernacle
shall be
in peace;
and
thou shalt visit
thy habitation,
and shalt not sin.
Thou shalt know also
that thy
seed
shall be great,
and thine offspring
as the grass
of the earth.
Thou shalt come
to thy grave
in a full age,
like as a shock
of corn
cometh in
in his season.
Lo this,
we have searched it,
so it is;
hear it,
and know
thou it
for thy good.
Because
thou shalt forget
thy misery,
and remember it
as waters that pass away:
And thine
age
shall be clearer
than the noonday:
thou
shalt shine forth,
thou shalt be
as the morning.
And
thou shalt be secure,
because there is hope;
yea,
thou shalt dig
about thee,
and
thou shalt take
thy rest
in safety.
Also thou
shalt lie down,
and none
shall make thee afraid;
yea,
many shall make
suit unto thee.
But
I would strengthen you
with my mouth,
and the moving
of my lips
should asswage
your grief.
I chose
out their way,
and sat chief,
and dwelt
as a king
in the army,
as one
that comforteth the mourners.
The LORD
also will be
a refuge
for the oppressed,
a refuge
in times
of trouble.
And they that
know thy
name
will put
their trust
in thee:
for thou,
LORD,
hast not forsaken them
that seek thee.
Yea,
though I
walk
through the valley
of the shadow
of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art
with me;
thy rod
and thy staff
they comfort me.
For in the time
of trouble
he shall hide me
in his pavilion:
in the secret
of his tabernacle
shall
he hide me;
he shall set me up
upon a rock.
For his anger
endureth
but a moment;
in his favour
is life:
weeping may endure
for a night,
but joy
cometh in the morning.
Let me
not be ashamed,
O LORD;
for I
have called
upon thee:
let the wicked
be ashamed,
and let them
be silent
in the grave.
I sought
the LORD,
and he
heard me,
and delivered me
from all my fears.
Many are the afflictions
of the righteous:
but the LORD
delivereth him
out of them all.
The steps
of a good man
are ordered
by the LORD:
and
he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall,
he shall not be
utterly cast down:
for the LORD
upholdeth him
with his hand.
The LORD
will strengthen him
upon the bed
of languishing:
thou wilt make
all his bed
in his sickness.
Why art
thou cast down,
O my soul?
and
why art
thou disquieted
in me?
hope thou in God:
for I
shall yet praise him
for the help
of his countenance.
God is our refuge
and strength,
a very present help
in trouble.
And call upon me
in the day
of trouble:
I will deliver thee,
and
thou shalt glorify me.
Cast
thy burden
upon the LORD,
and
he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer
the righteous
to be moved.
Thou tellest my wanderings:
put
thou my tears
into thy bottle:
are
they not in thy book?
Truly my soul
waiteth upon God:
from him cometh my salvation.
He only is
my rock
and my salvation;
he is my defence;
I shall not be greatly moved.
How long
will
ye imagine mischief
against a man?
ye shall be slain
all of you:
as a
bowing
wall
shall
ye be,
and as a tottering fence.
They only consult
to cast him down
from his excellency:
they delight
in lies:
they bless
with their mouth,
but
they curse inwardly.
Selah.
My soul,
wait
thou
only upon God;
for my expectation
is from him.
He only is
my rock
and my salvation:
he is my defence;
I shall not be moved.
In God
is my salvation
and my glory:
the rock
of my strength,
and my refuge,
is in God.
Trust in him
at all times;
ye people,
pour
out your heart
before him:
God is a refuge
for us.
Selah.
God setteth
the solitary
in families:
he bringeth out those which
are bound
with chains:
but the rebellious
dwell
in a dry land.
Thou,
which hast shewed me
great
and sore troubles,
shalt quicken me again,
and shalt bring me
up again from the depths
of the earth.
My flesh
and my heart faileth:
but God
is the strength
of my heart,
and my portion
for ever.
Unless the LORD
had been my help,
my soul
had
almost dwelt
in silence.
In the multitude
of my thoughts
within me thy
comforts
delight my soul.
Like as a father
pitieth his children,
so the LORD
pitieth them
that fear him.
Unto the upright
there ariseth
light
in the darkness:
he is gracious,
and full of compassion,
and righteous.
This is my comfort
in my affliction:
for thy
word
hath quickened me.
Unless thy law
had been
my delights,
I should then
have perished
in mine affliction.
Trouble
and anguish
have taken
hold on me:
yet thy commandments
are my delights.
In the day
when I
cried
thou answeredst me,
and strengthenedst me
with strength
in my soul.
Though I
walk
in the midst
of trouble,
thou wilt revive me:
thou shalt stretch
forth thine hand
against the wrath
of mine enemies,
and thy
right hand
shall save me.
The LORD
will perfect
that which
concerneth me:
thy mercy,
O LORD,
endureth for ever:
forsake not the works
of thine own hands.
I know
that the LORD
will maintain
the cause
of the afflicted,
and the right
of the poor.
The LORD
upholdeth all
that fall,
and raiseth
up all
those that
be bowed down.
He healeth the broken in heart,
and bindeth up their wounds.
The wicked
is snared by the transgression
of his lips:
but the just shall come
out of trouble.
And there shall be
a tabernacle
for a shadow
in the day
time
from the heat,
and for a place
of refuge,
and for a covert from storm
and from rain.
For thou
hast been
a strength
to the poor,
a strength
to the needy
in his distress,
a refuge
from the storm,
a shadow
from the heat,
when
the blast
of the terrible
ones is as a storm
against the wall.
And
though the Lord
give
you the bread
of adversity,
and the water
of affliction,
yet shall not
thy teachers
be removed
into a corner any more,
but thine
eyes
shall see
thy teachers:
Comfort ye,
comfort
ye my people,
saith your God.
He giveth
power
to the faint;
and to them
that have no
might
he increaseth strength.
Fear thou not;
for I
am with thee:
be not dismayed;
for I
am thy God:
I will strengthen thee;
yea,
I will help thee;
yea,
I will uphold thee
with the right hand
of my righteousness.
When the poor
and needy seek water,
and there is none,
and their tongue
faileth
for thirst,
I the LORD
will hear them,
I the God
of Israel
will not forsake them.
A bruised reed
shall
he not break,
and the smoking flax
shall
he not quench:
he shall bring forth judgment
unto truth.
When thou
passest through the waters,
I will be
with thee;
and
through the rivers,
they shall not overflow thee:
when thou
walkest through the fire,
thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall
the flame
kindle upon thee.
Sing,
O heavens;
and be joyful,
O earth;
and break forth
into singing,
O mountains:
for the LORD
hath comforted
his people,
and will have mercy
upon his afflicted.
Behold,
the Lord GOD
will help me;
who is
he that
shall condemn me?
lo,
they all shall wax old
as a garment;
the moth
shall eat them up.
Fear not;
for thou
shalt not be ashamed:
neither be
thou confounded;
for thou
shalt not be put
to shame:
for thou
shalt forget
the shame
of thy youth,
and shalt not remember
the reproach
of thy widowhood any more.
And
if thou
draw out thy soul
to the hungry,
and satisfy
the afflicted soul;
then shall
thy light
rise
in obscurity,
and thy darkness
be
as the noon day:
The Spirit
of the Lord GOD
is upon me;
because
the LORD
hath anointed me
to preach good tidings
unto the meek;
he hath sent me
to bind
up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty
to the captives,
and the opening
of the prison
to them
that are bound;
To proclaim
the acceptable year
of the LORD,
and the day
of vengeance
of our God;
to comfort all
that mourn;
To appoint
unto them that
mourn in Zion,
to give
unto them beauty
for ashes,
the oil
of joy
for mourning,
the garment
of praise
for the spirit
of heaviness;
that they
might be called trees
of righteousness,
the planting
of the LORD,
that he
might be glorified.
Hear the word
of the LORD,
ye that tremble
at his word;
Your brethren that
hated you,
that cast you out
for my name's sake,
said,
Let the LORD
be glorified:
but
he shall appear
to your joy,
and
they shall be ashamed.
As one whom
his mother comforteth,
so will
I comfort you;
and
ye shall be comforted
in Jerusalem.
Then shall
the virgin
rejoice
in the dance,
both young men
and old
together:
for I will turn
their mourning
into joy,
and will comfort them,
and make them
rejoice
from their sorrow.
For I
have satiated
the weary soul,
and
I have replenished
every sorrowful soul.
But
I will deliver thee
in that day,
saith the LORD:
and
thou shalt not be given
into the hand
of the men
of whom
thou art afraid.
For I
will surely deliver thee,
and
thou shalt not fall
by the sword,
but thy life
shall be
for a prey
unto thee:
because
thou hast put
thy trust in me,
saith the LORD.
Come,
and let us
return
unto the LORD:
for he
hath torn,
and
he will heal us;
he hath smitten,
and
he will bind us up.
The LORD
is good,
a strong hold
in the day
of trouble;
and
he knoweth them
that trust
in him.
Blessed
are
they that mourn:
for they
shall be comforted.
Blessed
are
they which
are persecuted
for righteousness' sake:
for theirs
is the kingdom
of heaven.
Blessed are ye,
when men
shall revile you,
and persecute you,
and shall say all manner
of evil
against you falsely,
for my sake.
Rejoice,
and be exceeding glad:
for great
is your reward
in heaven:
for so
persecuted
they the prophets
which were before you.
Are not
two sparrows
sold
for a farthing?
and one
of them shall not fall
on the ground
without your Father.
Come unto me,
all
ye that labour
and are heavy laden,
and I
will give you rest.
Then shall
the King
say
unto them on his right hand,
Come,
ye blessed
of my Father,
inherit
the kingdom prepared
for you
from the foundation
of the world:
Blessed
are
ye that hunger now:
for ye
shall be filled.
Blessed
are
ye that
weep now:
for ye
shall laugh.
Blessed are ye,
when men
shall hate you,
and
when
they shall separate you
from their company,
and shall reproach you,
and cast
out your name
as evil,
for the Son
of man's sake.
Rejoice
ye in that day,
and leap for joy:
for,
behold,
your reward
is great
in heaven:
for in the like
manner
did
their fathers
unto the prophets.
And
when the Lord
saw her,
he had compassion
on her,
and said
unto her,
Weep not.
Let not
your heart
be troubled:
ye believe
in God,
believe also in me.
And
I will pray
the Father,
and
he shall give you
another Comforter,
that he
may abide
with you
for ever;
I will not leave
you comfortless:
I will come
to you.
Peace
I leave with you,
my peace
I give unto you:
not as the world giveth,
give I unto you.
Let not
your heart
be troubled,
neither let it
be afraid.
Verily,
verily,
I say unto you,
That ye
shall weep
and lament,
but the world
shall rejoice:
and
ye shall be sorrowful,
but your sorrow
shall be turned into joy.
And
ye now therefore have sorrow:
but I
will see
you again,
and your heart
shall rejoice,
and your joy no man
taketh from you.
These things
I have spoken
unto you,
that in me ye
might have peace.
In the world
ye shall have
tribulation:
but be
of good cheer;
I have overcome
the world.
And we
know
that all things work together
for good
to them
that love God,
to them
who are
the called according to his purpose.
Who shall separate us
from the love
of Christ?
shall tribulation,
or distress,
or persecution,
or famine,
or nakedness,
or peril,
or sword?
As it is written,
For thy sake
we are killed all
the day long;
we are accounted
as sheep
for the slaughter.
For I
am persuaded,
that neither death,
nor life,
nor angels,
nor principalities,
nor powers,
nor things present,
nor things
to come,
Nor height,
nor depth,
nor any other creature,
shall be able
to separate us
from the love
of God,
which is in Christ Jesus
our Lord.
Rejoicing
in hope;
patient
in tribulation;
continuing instant
in prayer;
For whatsoever things
were written
aforetime were written
for our learning,
that we
through patience
and comfort
of the scriptures
might have hope.
Blessed
be God,
even the Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father
of mercies,
and the God
of all comfort;
Who comforteth us
in all
our tribulation,
that we
may be able
to comfort them
which are in any trouble,
by the comfort
wherewith
we ourselves
are comforted
of God.
For as the sufferings
of Christ
abound in us,
so our consolation
also aboundeth
by Christ.
We are troubled
on every side,
yet not distressed;
we are perplexed,
but
not in despair;
Persecuted,
but not forsaken;
cast down,
but not destroyed;
Always bearing about
in the body
the dying
of the Lord Jesus,
that the life
also of Jesus
might be made
manifest
in our body.
For which
cause
we faint not;
but
though our outward man perish,
yet the inward man
is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction,
which is
but for a moment,
worketh
for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight
of glory;
And
he said unto me,
My grace
is sufficient
for thee:
for my strength
is made
perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will
I rather glory
in my infirmities,
that the power
of Christ
may rest upon me.
Bear
ye one another's burdens,
and so
fulfil the law
of Christ.
And to you
who are troubled
rest with us,
when the Lord Jesus
shall be revealed from heaven
with his mighty angels,
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself,
and God,
even our Father,
which hath loved us,
and hath given us
everlasting consolation
and good hope
through grace,
Comfort your hearts,
and stablish you
in every good word
and work.
If we suffer,
we shall also reign with him:
if we
deny him,
he also will deny us:
Notwithstanding
the Lord
stood with me,
and strengthened me;
that by me the preaching
might be fully known,
and that all
the Gentiles
might hear:
and
I was delivered
out of the mouth
of the lion.
For in
that he himself
hath suffered
being tempted,
he is able
to succour them
that are tempted.
For we
have not
an high priest
which cannot be touched
with the feeling
of our infirmities;
but was
in all points
tempted like
as we are,
yet without sin.
Let us
therefore come boldly
unto the throne
of grace,
that we
may obtain mercy,
and find
grace to help
in time
of need.
Wherefore seeing
we also are compassed about
with so great
a cloud
of witnesses,
let us
lay aside every weight,
and the sin which
doth so easily beset us,
and let us
run
with patience
the race
that is set
before us,
Looking unto Jesus
the author
and finisher
of our faith;
who for the joy
that was set
before him
endured the cross,
despising
the shame,
and is set down
at the right hand
of the throne
of God.
For consider him that
endured
such contradiction
of sinners
against himself,
lest
ye be wearied
and faint
in your minds.
Ye have not yet resisted
unto blood,
striving against sin.
Remember them that
are in bonds,
as bound with them;
and them which
suffer adversity,
as being yourselves also
in the body.
Let your conversation
be without covetousness;
and be content
with such things
as ye have:
for he
hath said,
I will never leave thee,
nor forsake thee.
So that
we may boldly say,
The Lord
is my helper,
and
I will not fear
what man
shall do unto me.
Blessed is the man
that endureth temptation:
for when
he is tried,
he shall receive the crown
of life,
which the Lord
hath promised
to them that love him.
Pure religion
and undefiled
before God
and the Father
is this,
To visit
the fatherless
and widows
in their affliction,
and
to keep himself unspotted
from the world.
Be ye
also patient;
stablish your hearts:
for the coming
of the Lord draweth nigh.
Who,
when
he was reviled,
reviled
not again;
when he suffered,
he threatened not;
but committed himself
to him
that judgeth righteously:
But rejoice,
inasmuch as
ye are partakers
of Christ's sufferings;
that,
when his glory
shall be revealed,
ye may be glad
also with exceeding joy.
Casting all your care
upon him;
for he careth
for you.
Fear none of those things which
thou shalt suffer:
behold,
the devil
shall cast
some of you
into prison,
that ye
may be tried;
and
ye shall have
tribulation ten days:
be thou faithful
unto death,
and I
will give
thee a crown
of life.
Because
thou hast kept
the word
of my patience,
I also will keep thee
from the hour
of temptation,
which shall come upon all
the world,
to try them
that dwell
upon the earth.
For the Lamb
which is in the midst
of the throne
shall feed them,
and shall lead them
unto living fountains
of waters:
and God
shall wipe
away all
tears
from their eyes.
