I indeed baptize you
with water
unto repentance.
but he
that cometh
after me
is mightier
than I,
whose shoes
I am not worthy
to bear:
he shall baptize you
with the Holy Ghost,
and with fire:
Not every one
that saith unto me,
Lord, Lord,
shall enter
into the kingdom
of heaven;
but he
that doeth
the will
of my Father
which is in heaven.
Many will say to me
in that day,
Lord, Lord,
have
we not prophesied
in thy name?
and in thy
name
have cast
out devils?
and in thy
name done many wonderful works?
And
then will
I profess unto them,
I never knew you:
depart from me,
ye that work iniquity.
Whosoever
therefore shall confess me
before men,
him will
I confess also
before my Father
which is in heaven.
But whosoever
shall deny me
before men,
him will
I also deny
before my Father
which is in heaven.
Also I
say
unto you,
Whosoever
shall confess me
before men,
him shall
the Son of man
also confess
before the angels
of God:
John bare
witness of him,
and cried,
saying,
This
was
he of whom
I spake,
He that
cometh
after me
is preferred
before me:
for he
was
before me.
And
of his fulness
have all
we received,
and grace for grace.
For the law
was given
by Moses,
but grace
and truth
came
by Jesus Christ.
No man
hath seen God
at any time,
the only begotten Son,
which is in the bosom
of the Father,
he hath declared him.
These words
spake his parents,
because
they feared
the Jews:
for the Jews
had agreed already,
that if any man
did confess
that he
was Christ,
he should be put
out of the synagogue.
Therefore said
his parents,
He is of age;
ask him.
Then again called
they the man
that was blind,
and
said unto him,
Give God the praise:
we know that
this man
is a sinner.
He answered
and said,
Whether
he be
a sinner
or no,
I know not:
one thing
I know,
that,
whereas
I was blind,
now I see.
Then said
they
to him again,
What
did
he to thee?
how opened he thine eyes?
He answered them,
I have told
you already,
and
ye did not hear:
wherefore would
ye hear it
again?
will
ye also be
his disciples?
Then
they reviled him,
and said,
Thou art his disciple;
but
we are Moses' disciples.
We know
that God
spake unto Moses:
as for this fellow,
we know not
from whence he is.
The man
answered
and
said unto them,
Why herein is
a marvellous thing,
that ye
know not
from whence
he is,
and yet
he hath opened mine eyes.
Now we
know
that God heareth
not sinners:
but
if any man
be
a worshipper
of God,
and doeth his will,
him he heareth.
Since the world
began
was
it not heard
that any man
opened the eyes
of one
that was born blind.
If this man
were not of God,
he could do nothing.
They answered
and
said unto him,
Thou
wast altogether born
in sins,
and dost
thou teach us?
And
they
cast him out.
Jesus
heard
that they
had cast him out;
and
when
he had found him,
he said unto him,
Dost thou
believe
on the Son
of God?
He answered
and said,
Who is he,
Lord,
that I
might believe on him?
And Jesus
said unto him,
Thou
hast
both seen him,
and it
is
he that
talketh with thee.
And he said,
Lord,
I believe.
And
he worshipped him.
Nevertheless among the chief rulers
also many
believed on him;
but
because
of the Pharisees
they did not confess him,
lest
they should be put
out of the synagogue:
For they loved
the praise
of men
more than the praise
of God.
Then Philip
opened his mouth,
and began at the same scripture,
and preached
unto him Jesus.
And as they
went on their way,
they came
unto a certain water:
and the eunuch said,
See,
here is water;
what doth hinder me
to be baptized?
And Philip said,
If thou
believest with all
thine heart,
thou mayest.
And he
answered
and said,
I believe
that Jesus Christ
is the Son
of God.
And
when Silas
and Timotheus
were come
from Macedonia,
Paul
was pressed
in the spirit,
and testified
to the Jews
that Jesus was Christ.
Then said Paul,
John
verily baptized
with the baptism
of repentance,
saying
unto the people,
that they
should believe
on him which
should come
after him,
that is,
on Christ Jesus.
When
they heard this,
they were baptized in the name
of the Lord Jesus.
That if
thou shalt confess
with thy
mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe
in thine heart
that God
hath raised him
from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and
with the mouth
confession
is made
unto salvation.
For the scripture saith,
Whosoever believeth
on him shall not be ashamed.
Wherefore
I give you
to understand,
that no man
speaking
by the Spirit
of God calleth Jesus accursed:
and that no man
can say
that Jesus
is the Lord,
but by the Holy Ghost.
If we
say that
we have fellowship
with him,
and walk
in darkness,
we lie,
and do not
the truth:
He that saith,
I know him,
and keepeth not
his commandments,
is a liar,
and the truth
is not in him.
Hereby know
ye the Spirit
of God:
Every spirit that
confesseth
that Jesus Christ
is come in
the flesh
is of God:
And every spirit
that
confesseth not
that Jesus Christ
is come in
the flesh
is not of God:
and this
is that spirit
of antichrist,
whereof
ye have heard
that it
should come;
and even now already is
it in the world.
Whosoever
shall confess
that Jesus
is the Son
of God,
God
dwelleth in him,
and he in God.
