These are the generations
of Noah:
Noah was a
just man
and perfect
in his generations,
and Noah
walked
with God.
For thou art
an holy people
unto the LORD thy God:
the LORD thy God
hath chosen thee
to be a special people
unto himself,
above all people
that are upon the face
of the earth.
For thou art
an holy people
unto the LORD thy God,
and the LORD
hath chosen thee
to be a peculiar people
unto himself,
above all
the nations
that are upon the earth.
And Solomon said,
Thou
hast shewed
unto thy servant David
my father great mercy,
according as he
walked
before thee
in truth,
and
in righteousness,
and
in uprightness
of heart
with thee;
and
thou hast kept
for him this great kindness,
that thou
hast given him a son
to sit
on his throne,
as it is this day.
But know
that the LORD
hath set apart him
that is godly
for himself:
the LORD
will hear
when
I call unto him.
He that
walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh
the truth
in his heart.
My soul
shall make
her boast
in the LORD:
the humble
shall hear thereof,
and be glad.
He is ever merciful,
and lendeth;
and his seed
is blessed.
Blessed are the undefiled
in the way,
who walk
in the law
of the LORD.
Better
it is to be
of an humble spirit
with the lowly,
than
to divide the spoil
with the proud.
The wise in heart
shall be called prudent:
and the sweetness
of the lips
increaseth learning.
The wicked
flee
when
no man pursueth:
but the righteous
are bold
as a lion.
The meek
also shall increase
their joy
in the LORD,
and the poor
among men
shall rejoice in the Holy One
of Israel.
But the liberal
deviseth liberal things;
and
by liberal things
shall he stand.
And all
thy children
shall be taught
of the LORD;
and great
shall be the peace
of thy children.
For thus
saith the high
and lofty One
that inhabiteth eternity,
whose name
is Holy;
I dwell
in the high
and holy place,
with him also that is
of a contrite
and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit
of the humble,
and
to revive
the heart
of the contrite
ones.
Thy people
also shall be all righteous:
they shall inherit the land
for ever,
the branch
of my planting,
the work
of my hands,
that I
may be glorified.
For all
those things
hath
mine hand made,
and all those things
have been,
saith the LORD:
but to this man
will
I look,
even to him
that is poor and
of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at my word.
And there shall
ye remember
your ways,
and all
your doings,
wherein ye
have been defiled;
and ye
shall lothe yourselves
in your own sight
for all
your evils that
ye have committed.
Then they
that
feared
the LORD
spake often one
to another:
and the LORD hearkened,
and heard it,
and
a book
of remembrance
was written
before him
for them that
feared the LORD,
and that
thought
upon his name.
Blessed are the poor in spirit:
for theirs
is the kingdom
of heaven.
Blessed are the meek:
for they
shall inherit
the earth.
Blessed
are
they which
do hunger
and thirst
after righteousness:
for they
shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful:
for they
shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure
in heart:
for they
shall see God.
And
they were both righteous
before God,
walking in all
the commandments
and ordinances
of the Lord blameless.
And,
behold,
there was a man
in Jerusalem,
whose name
was Simeon;
and the same man
was just
and devout,
waiting
for the consolation
of Israel:
and the Holy Ghost
was upon him.
Blessed are those servants,
whom the lord
when
he cometh
shall find watching:
verily
I say unto you,
that he
shall gird himself,
and make them to
sit down to meat,
and will come
forth and serve them.
Jesus saw Nathanael
coming
to him,
and saith of him,
Behold an Israelite indeed,
in whom is no guile!
To him
the porter openeth;
and the sheep
hear his voice:
and
he calleth
his own sheep
by name,
and
leadeth them out.
And
when
he putteth forth his own sheep,
he goeth
before them,
and the sheep
follow him:
for they
know his voice.
My sheep
hear my voice,
and I
know them,
and
they follow me:
And
they continued stedfastly
in the apostles' doctrine
and fellowship,
and
in breaking
of bread,
and
in prayers.
And devout men
carried Stephen
to his burial,
and made great lamentation
over him.
A devout man,
and one
that feared God
with all his house,
which gave much alms
to the people,
and prayed
to God alway.
And one Ananias,
a devout man
according to the law,
having a good report
of all
the Jews which
dwelt there,
For as many
as are led
by the Spirit
of God,
they are the sons
of God.
For your obedience
is come abroad
unto all men.
I am glad
therefore on your behalf:
but yet
I would have
you wise
unto that which
is good,
and simple concerning evil.
For our rejoicing
is this,
the testimony
of our conscience,
that in simplicity
and godly sincerity,
not with fleshly wisdom,
but by the grace
of God,
we have had
our conversation
in the world,
and more
abundantly to you-ward.
For we
are not as many,
which corrupt the word
of God:
but
as of sincerity,
but as of God,
in the sight
of God
speak we in Christ.
Therefore if any man
be in Christ,
he is a new creature:
old things
are passed away;
behold,
all things
are become new.
By honour
and dishonour,
by evil report
and good report:
as deceivers,
and yet true;
Whiles
by the experiment
of this ministration
they glorify God
for your professed subjection
unto the gospel
of Christ,
and
for your liberal distribution
unto them,
and
unto all men;
For we
are his workmanship,
created
in Christ Jesus
unto good works,
which God
hath
before
ordained
that we
should walk in them.
That ye
may be
blameless
and harmless,
the sons of God,
without rebuke,
in the midst
of a crooked
and perverse nation,
among whom
ye shine
as lights
in the world;
Since we
heard
of your faith
in Christ Jesus,
and of the love
which ye
have to all
the saints,
For though
I be absent
in the flesh,
yet am
I with you
in the spirit,
joying
and beholding
your order,
and the stedfastness
of your faith
in Christ.
Buried with him
in baptism,
wherein also
ye are risen
with him
through the faith
of the operation
of God,
who hath raised him
from the dead.
But
as touching brotherly
love
ye need not that
I write unto you:
for ye yourselves
are taught
of God
to love one
another.
Who gave himself for us,
that he
might redeem us
from all iniquity,
and purify
unto himself
a peculiar people,
zealous
of good works.
God also bearing them witness,
both with signs
and wonders,
and
with divers miracles,
and gifts
of the Holy Ghost,
according to
his own will?
As obedient children,
not fashioning yourselves according to
the former
lusts
in your ignorance:
Likewise,
ye younger,
submit yourselves
unto the elder.
Yea,
all of you
be subject one
to another,
and be clothed
with humility:
for God
resisteth the proud,
and giveth
grace
to the humble.
The Lord
knoweth how
to deliver the godly
out of temptations,
and
to reserve the unjust
unto the day
of judgment
to be punished:
But the anointing
which ye
have received
of him abideth
in you,
and
ye need not
that any man
teach you:
but as the same anointing
teacheth you
of all things,
and is truth,
and is
no lie,
and
even as
it hath taught you,
ye shall abide in him.
And every man that
hath
this hope
in him purifieth himself,
even as
he is pure.
These shall make
war with the Lamb,
and the Lamb
shall overcome them:
for he
is Lord of lords,
and King
of kings:
and they
that are with him
are called,
and chosen,
and faithful.
