Now the LORD
had said
unto Abram,
Get thee
out of thy country,
and from thy kindred,
and from thy father's house,
unto a land
that I
will shew thee:
And
the angel
of the LORD
appeared unto him
in a flame
of fire
out of the midst
of a bush:
and he looked,
and,
behold,
the bush
burned with fire,
and the bush
was not consumed.
And
when the LORD
saw that
he turned aside
to see,
God called
unto him
out of the midst
of the bush,
and said,
Moses, Moses.
And he said,
Here am I.
Come
now therefore,
and
I will send thee
unto Pharaoh,
that thou
mayest bring forth my people
the children
of Israel
out of Egypt.
And take
thou unto thee Aaron
thy brother,
and his sons
with him,
from among the children
of Israel,
that he
may minister
unto me
in the priest's office,
even Aaron,
Nadab and Abihu,
Eleazar
and Ithamar,
Aaron's sons.
And the LORD
said
unto Moses,
Take thee Joshua
the son of Nun,
a man
in whom is the spirit,
and lay
thine hand
upon him;
And the LORD
said
unto Moses, Behold,
thy days
approach that
thou must die:
call Joshua,
and present yourselves
in the tabernacle
of the congregation,
that I
may give him
a charge.
And Moses
and Joshua went,
and presented themselves
in the tabernacle
of the congregation.
And
he gave Joshua
the son
of Nun a charge,
and said,
Be strong and
of a good courage:
for thou
shalt bring the children
of Israel
into the land
which I
sware unto them:
and
I will be
with thee.
Now after the death
of Moses
the servant
of the LORD
it came to pass,
that the LORD
spake unto Joshua
the son of Nun,
Moses' minister,
saying,
Moses my servant
is dead;
now therefore arise,
go over this Jordan,
thou,
and all this people,
unto the land
which I
do give
to them,
even to
the children
of Israel.
And there came
an angel
of the LORD,
and sat
under an oak
which was in Ophrah,
that pertained
unto Joash the Abiezrite:
and his son Gideon
threshed wheat
by the winepress,
to hide it
from the Midianites.
And
the angel
of the LORD
appeared unto him,
and
said unto him,
The LORD
is with thee,
thou mighty man
of valour.
And the LORD
looked upon him,
and said,
Go in
this thy might,
and
thou shalt save Israel
from the hand
of the Midianites:
have not
I sent thee?
That the LORD
called Samuel:
and he answered,
Here am I.
And the LORD came,
and stood,
and called as
at other times,
Samuel, Samuel.
Then Samuel answered,
Speak;
for thy servant heareth.
And he arose,
and went into the house;
and he
poured
the oil
on his head,
and
said unto him,
Thus
saith
the LORD God
of Israel,
I have anointed thee king
over the people
of the LORD,
even over Israel.
And
the destruction
of Ahaziah
was of God
by coming
to Joram:
for when
he was come,
he went out
with Jehoram
against Jehu
the son
of Nimshi,
whom the LORD
had anointed
to cut off
the house
of Ahab.
He sent Moses
his servant;
and Aaron whom
he had chosen.
Thus
saith
the LORD
to his anointed,
to Cyrus,
whose right hand
I have holden,
to subdue nations
before him;
and I
will loose
the loins
of kings,
to open
before him
the two leaved gates;
and the gates
shall not be shut;
Then answered Amos,
and said
to Amaziah,
I was no prophet,
neither was
I a prophet's son;
but
I was an herdman,
and a gatherer
of sycomore fruit:
And the LORD
took me as I
followed
the flock,
and the LORD
said unto me,
Go,
prophesy
unto my people Israel.
And Jesus,
walking
by the sea
of Galilee,
saw two brethren,
Simon called Peter,
and Andrew
his brother,
casting a net
into the sea:
for they
were fishers.
And
he saith unto them,
Follow me,
and I
will make
you fishers
of men.
And
they straightway left
their nets,
and followed him.
And going on
from thence,
he saw
other two brethren,
James the son
of Zebedee,
and John
his brother,
in a ship
with Zebedee their father,
mending their nets;
and
he called them.
And
they immediately left
the ship
and their father,
and followed him.
And as he
passed by,
he saw Levi
the son
of Alphaeus
sitting
at the receipt
of custom,
and
said unto him,
Follow me.
And he
arose
and followed him.
Then Jesus beholding him
loved him,
and
said unto him,
One thing
thou lackest:
go thy way,
sell whatsoever
thou hast,
and give
to the poor,
and
thou shalt have
treasure
in heaven:
and come,
take up the cross,
and follow me.
Ye have not chosen me,
but
I have chosen you,
and ordained you,
that ye
should go
and bring forth fruit,
and
that your fruit
should remain:
that whatsoever
ye shall ask of the Father
in my name,
he may give it you.
I have seen,
I have seen
the affliction
of my people which
is in Egypt,
and
I have heard
their groaning,
and am come down
to deliver them.
And now come,
I will send thee
into Egypt.
And he
fell
to the earth,
and heard
a voice
saying unto him,
Saul, Saul,
why persecutest
thou me?
And he said,
Who art thou,
Lord?
And the Lord said,
I am Jesus whom
thou persecutest:
it is hard
for thee
to kick
against the pricks.
And he
trembling
and astonished said,
Lord,
what wilt thou
have me to do?
And the Lord
said unto him,
Arise,
and go
into the city,
and it
shall be told thee
what thou must do.
But the Lord
said unto him,
Go thy way:
for he
is a chosen vessel
unto me,
to bear my name
before the Gentiles,
and kings,
and the children
of Israel:
For I
will shew him how
great things
he must suffer
for my name's sake.
As they ministered
to the Lord,
and fasted,
the Holy Ghost said,
Separate me Barnabas
and Saul
for the work whereunto
I have called them.
Paul,
a servant
of Jesus Christ,
called to be
an apostle,
separated
unto the gospel
of God,
Paul called
to be an apostle
of Jesus Christ
through the will
of God,
and Sosthenes
our brother,
Paul,
an apostle
of Jesus Christ
by the will
of God,
and Timothy
our brother,
unto the church
of God which
is at Corinth,
with all
the saints which
are in all Achaia:
Paul,
an apostle,
(not of men,
neither by man,
but by Jesus Christ,
and God
the Father,
who raised him
from the dead;)
Paul,
an apostle
of Jesus Christ
by the will
of God,
to the saints
which are at Ephesus,
and
to the faithful
in Christ Jesus:
Paul,
an apostle
of Jesus Christ
by the will
of God,
and Timotheus
our brother,
Paul,
an apostle
of Jesus Christ
by the commandment
of God our Saviour,
and Lord Jesus Christ,
which is our hope;
Paul,
an apostle
of Jesus Christ
by the will
of God,
according to
the promise
of life
which is in Christ Jesus,
And no man
taketh this honour
unto himself,
but
he that is called
of God,
as was Aaron.
By faith Abraham,
when
he was called to go out
into a place
which he
should after
receive
for an inheritance,
obeyed;
and he went out,
not knowing whither
he went.
