seeing them
rose up to
meet them;

with his face
toward the ground;
For we
will destroy
this place,
because the cry
of them is waxen great
before the face
of the LORD;
and the LORD
hath sent us
to destroy it.
The LORD God
of heaven,
which took me
from my father's house,
and
from the land
of my kindred,
and
which spake unto me,

that sware unto me,
saying,
Unto thy
seed
will
I give this land;
he shall send his angel
before thee,
and
thou shalt take
a wife
unto my son
from thence.
And
when Jacob

a city
in the uttermost
of thy border:
And God's anger
was kindled
because
he went:
and

for an adversary
against him.

he was riding
upon his ass,
and his two servants

and his sword

under Balaam:
and Balaam's anger
was kindled,
and he
smote

with a staff.
And

said unto Balaam,
Go with the men:
but only the word
that I
shall speak
unto thee,

shalt speak.
So Balaam
went with the princes
of Balak.
And he said,
The LORD
came from Sinai,
and rose up
from Seir
unto them;
he shined
forth from
mount Paran,
and he
came
with ten thousands of saints:
from his right hand

a fiery law
for them.
And he said,

but as captain
of the host
of the LORD
am I now come.
And Joshua
fell on his face

an angel

Then a spirit
passed
before my face;
the hair
of my flesh stood up:
Behold,
he put
no trust
in his servants;
and his angels
he charged
with folly:
Is there any number
of his armies?
and
upon whom doth not
his light arise?
When the morning stars
sang together,
and all
the sons
of God
shouted for joy?
By the word
of the LORD
were
the heavens made;
and all
the host
of them
by the breath
of his mouth.
The angel

encampeth round
about them that fear him,
and delivereth them.
Let them
be as chaff

The chariots
of God
are twenty thousand,
even thousands of angels:
the Lord
is among them,

of his anger,

and indignation,

by sending evil angels
among them.
For he shall give
his angels charge
over thee,
to keep thee

against a stone.
Bless the LORD,

that excel
in strength,

his commandments,

stood
the seraphims:

their affliction
he was afflicted,

a watcher
and an holy one
came down
from heaven;
He cried aloud,

Hew
down the tree,
and cut off
his branches,
shake
off his leaves,
and scatter
his fruit:
let the beasts
get away from
under it,
and the fowls
from his branches:
Nevertheless
leave the stump
of his roots
in the earth,
even with a band
of iron
and brass,
in the tender grass
of the field;
and let
it be wet
with the dew
of heaven,
and let
his portion
be with the beasts
in the grass
of the earth:
Let his heart
be changed
from man's,
and let
a beast's heart
be given unto him;
and let
seven times
pass over him.
This matter
is by the decree
of the watchers,
and the demand
by the word
of the holy ones:
to the intent
that the living
may know
that the most High
ruleth in the kingdom
of men,
and giveth
it to whomsoever
he will,
and setteth up
over it
the basest
of men.
My God
hath sent
his angel,
and hath shut
the lions' mouths,
that they
have not hurt me:
forasmuch
as before him
innocency
was found in me;
and also before thee,
O king,
have
I done no hurt.
A fiery stream
issued
and came forth from
before him:
thousand thousands
ministered unto him,
and ten thousand
times ten thousand
stood
before him:
the judgment
was set,
and the books
were opened.
Then I

one saint speaking,
and another

said
unto that
certain saint

How long
shall be
the vision

the daily sacrifice,
and the transgression
of desolation,
to give
both the sanctuary
and the host
to be trodden
under foot?
And he said,
Behold,
I will make
thee know
what shall be
in the last end
of the indignation:
for at the time
appointed
the end
shall be.
Yea,
whiles
I was speaking
in prayer,
even the man Gabriel,
whom
I had seen
in the vision
at the beginning,
being caused
to fly swiftly,
touched me
about the time
of the evening oblation.
And
he informed me,
and
talked with me,
and said,
O Daniel,
I am now come forth
to give thee skill
and understanding.
At the beginning
of thy supplications
the commandment
came forth,
and I
am come
to shew thee;
for thou art greatly beloved:
therefore understand
the matter,
and consider
the vision.
Seventy weeks
are determined
upon thy people
and upon thy holy city,
to finish
the transgression,
and
to make an end
of sins,
and
to make reconciliation
for iniquity,
and to bring in
everlasting righteousness,
and
to seal
up the vision
and prophecy,
and to anoint
the most Holy.
Know therefore
and understand,
that from the going forth
of the commandment
to restore
and
to build
Jerusalem
unto the Messiah
the Prince
shall be
seven weeks,
and threescore
and two weeks:
the street
shall be built again,
and the wall,
even in troublous times.
And
after threescore
and two weeks
shall
Messiah be cut off,
but not for himself:
and the people
of the prince
that shall come
shall destroy
the city
and the sanctuary;
and the end
thereof shall be
with a flood,
and unto the end
of the war desolations
are determined.
And
he shall confirm
the covenant
with many
for one week:
and in the midst
of the week
he shall cause
the sacrifice
and the oblation
to cease,
and for the overspreading
of abominations
he shall make
it desolate,
even until
the consummation,
and that
determined
shall be poured
upon the desolate.
His body
also was like
the beryl,
and his face
as the appearance
of lightning,
and his eyes
as lamps of fire,
and his arms
and his feet like
in colour
to polished brass,
and the voice
of his words like
the voice
of a multitude.
And,
behold,
an hand
touched me,
which set me
upon my knees
and upon the palms
of my hands.
And
he said unto me,
O Daniel,
a man greatly beloved,
understand
the words that
I speak
unto thee,
and stand upright:
for unto thee
am I now sent.
And
when
he had spoken
this word
unto me,
I stood trembling.
Then said
he unto me,
Fear not,
Daniel:
for from the first day
that thou
didst set
thine heart
to understand,
and
to chasten thyself
before thy God,
thy words
were heard,
and I
am come for thy words.
But the prince
of the kingdom
of Persia
withstood me one
and twenty days:
but,
lo,
Michael,
one
of the chief princes,
came to help me;
and
I remained there
with the kings
of Persia.
Now I
am come
to make
thee understand
what shall befall
thy people
in the latter days:
for yet
the vision
is for many days.
And
when
he had spoken such words
unto me,
I set
my face
toward the ground,
and
I became dumb.
And,
behold,
one like the similitude
of the sons
of men
touched my lips:
then
I opened
my mouth,
and spake,
and said
unto him that
stood
before me,
O my lord,
by the vision my
sorrows
are turned upon me,
and
I have retained
no strength.
For how can
the servant
of this
my lord talk
with this my lord?
for as for me,
straightway there remained
no strength
in me,
neither
is there
breath
left in me.
Then there came again
and touched me one like
the appearance
of a man,
and
he strengthened me,
And said,
O man greatly beloved,
fear not:
peace
be
unto thee,
be strong,
yea,
be strong.
And
when
he had spoken unto me,
I was strengthened,
and said,
Let my lord speak;
for thou
hast strengthened me.
Then said he,
Knowest
thou wherefore
I come
unto thee?
and now will
I return
to fight
with the prince
of Persia:
and
when
I am gone forth,
lo,
the prince
of Grecia
shall come.
Then said I,
O my lord,
what are these?
And the angel
that talked
with me said unto me,
I will shew thee
what these be.
And the man
that
stood
among the myrtle trees
answered
and said,
These
are
they whom
the LORD
hath sent to walk
to and fro
through the earth.
And they

for Jerusalem

with a great jealousy.

to the Lord their God.
And he
shall go
before him
in the spirit
and power
of Elias,
to turn the hearts
of the fathers
to the children,
and the disobedient
to the wisdom
of the just;
to make ready
a people
prepared
for the Lord.
And Zacharias
said
unto the angel,
Whereby
shall
I know this?
for I
am an old man,
and my wife
well stricken
in years.
And the angel
answering
said unto him,
I am Gabriel,
that stand
in the presence
of God;
and am sent
to speak
unto thee,
and
to shew thee
these glad tidings.
And,
behold,
thou shalt be dumb,
and not able
to speak,
until the day
that these things
shall be performed,
because
thou believest not
my words,
which shall be fulfilled
in their season.
And the angel
came in
unto her,
and said,
Hail,
thou
that art
highly favoured,
the Lord
is with thee:
blessed art
thou among women.
And
when she
saw him,
she was troubled
at his saying,
and cast
in her mind
what manner
of salutation
this should be.
And the angel
said
unto her,
Fear not,
Mary:
for thou
hast found
favour
with God.
And,
behold,
thou shalt conceive
in thy womb,
and bring forth a son,
and shalt call
his name JESUS.
He shall be great,
and shall be called
the Son
of the Highest:
and the Lord God
shall give
unto him the throne
of his father David:
And
he shall reign
over the house
of Jacob
for ever;
and
of his kingdom
there shall be
no end.
Then said Mary
unto the angel,
How shall
this be,
seeing
I know not
a man?
And the angel
answered
and said
unto her,
The Holy Ghost
shall come upon thee,

the power
of the Highest
shall overshadow thee:
therefore also
that holy thing
which shall be born
of thee
shall be called
the Son
of God.
And,
behold,
thy cousin Elisabeth,
she hath also conceived
a son
in her old age:
and this
is
the sixth month
with her,
who was called barren.
For with God nothing
shall be impossible.
And Mary said,
Behold the handmaid
of the Lord;
be it
unto me according to
thy word.
And the angel
departed
from her.
And
she brought forth
her firstborn son,
and wrapped him
in swaddling clothes,
and laid him
in a manger;
because there was no room
for them
in the inn.
And there were
in the same country shepherds
abiding
in the field,
keeping
watch over their flock
by night.
And,
lo,
the angel
of the Lord
came upon them,
and the glory
of the Lord shone round
about them:

they were sore afraid.

you good tidings
of great joy,

For unto you

with the angel
a multitude
of the heavenly host
praising God,

in the highest,

on earth peace,

toward men.
And it

the shepherds said one

And it

the rich man

But they which
shall be accounted worthy
to obtain that world,
and the resurrection

into heaven?
this same Jesus,
which is taken up
from you
into heaven,
shall so
come in like manner as ye
have seen him
go into heaven.
But the angel
of the Lord
by night
opened the prison doors,
and
brought them forth,
and said,
And
when forty years
were expired,
there appeared
to him
in the wilderness
of mount Sina
an angel
of the Lord
in a flame
of fire
in a bush.
This Moses
whom
they refused,
saying,
Who made thee
a ruler
and a judge?
the same
did
God send
to be a ruler
and a deliverer
by the hand
of the angel which
appeared
to him
in the bush.
Who have received
the law
by the disposition
of angels,
and have not kept it.
And
the angel
of the Lord
spake unto Philip,
saying,
Arise,
and go toward
the south
unto the way
that goeth down from Jerusalem
unto Gaza,
which is desert.
He saw
in a vision
evidently about the ninth hour
of the day an angel
of God
coming in
to him,
and
saying unto him,
Cornelius.
And,
behold,
the angel
of the Lord
came upon him,
and a light shined
in the prison:
and
he smote Peter
on the side,
and
raised him up,
saying,
Arise up quickly.
And his chains
fell off
from his hands.
And he went out,
and followed him;
and wist
not
that it
was true which
was done
by the angel;
but thought
he saw
a vision.
And immediately
the angel
of the Lord
smote him,
because
he gave not God
the glory:
and
he was eaten
of worms,
and gave up
the ghost.
For there stood by me
this night
the angel of God,
whose I am,
and whom
I serve,
Know
ye not
that we
shall judge
angels?
how much more
things that
pertain
to this life?
Wherefore
then serveth the law?
It was added
because
of transgressions,
till the seed
should come
to whom the promise
was made;
and it
was ordained by angels
in the hand
of a mediator.
To the intent
that now unto the principalities
and powers
in heavenly places
might be known
by the church the manifold wisdom
of God,
Wherefore God
also hath highly exalted him,
and given him
a name which
is above every name:
That at the name
of Jesus
every knee
should bow,
of things
in heaven,
and things
in earth,
and things
under the earth;
And
that every tongue
should confess
that Jesus Christ
is Lord,
to the glory
of God the Father.
For by him were all
things created,
that are in heaven,
and that
are in earth,
visible
and invisible,
whether they
be thrones,
or dominions,
or principalities,
or powers:
all things
were created by him,
and for him:
Let no man
beguile you
of your reward
in a voluntary humility
and worshipping
of angels,
intruding
into those things
which he
hath not seen,
vainly puffed up
by his fleshly mind,
For the Lord himself
shall descend
from heaven
with a shout,
with the voice
of the archangel,
and
with the trump
of God:
and the dead
in Christ
shall rise first:
And to you
who are troubled
rest with us,
when the Lord Jesus
shall be revealed from heaven
with his mighty angels,
And
without controversy great
is the mystery
of godliness:
God was
manifest
in the flesh,
justified
in the Spirit,
seen of angels,
preached
unto the Gentiles,
believed on
in the world,
received up
into glory.
I charge thee
before God,
and the Lord Jesus Christ,
and the elect angels,
that thou
observe these things
without preferring one
before another,
doing nothing
by partiality.
Being made
so much better
than the angels,
as he
hath
by inheritance
obtained
a more excellent name
than they.
For unto
which of the angels
said
he at any time,
Thou art my Son,
this day
have
I begotten thee?
And again,
I will be
to him a Father,
and he
shall be to me a Son?
And again,
when
he bringeth in the firstbegotten
into the world,
he saith,
And let all
the angels
of God
worship him.
And of the angels
he saith,
Who maketh his angels spirits,
and his ministers
a flame
of fire.
But
to which of the angels
said
he at any time,
Sit
on my right hand,
until I
make
thine enemies thy footstool?
Are
they not all ministering spirits,
sent forth
to minister
for them
who shall be heirs
of salvation?
For if the word
spoken
by angels
was stedfast,
and every transgression
and disobedience
received
a
just recompence
of reward;
Thou madest him
a little lower
than the angels;
thou crownedst him
with glory
and honour,
and didst set him
over the works
of thy hands:
For verily
he took not
on him the nature
of angels;
but
he took on him
the seed
of Abraham.
But ye
are come
unto mount Sion,
and unto the city
of the living God,
the heavenly Jerusalem,
and
to an innumerable company
of angels,
Be not forgetful
to entertain strangers:
for thereby some
have entertained angels unawares.
Unto whom
it was revealed,
that not unto themselves,
but unto us they
did minister
the things,
which are now reported
unto you
by them that
have preached
the gospel
unto you
with the Holy Ghost
sent down
from heaven;
which things the angels
desire
to look into.
Who is gone
into heaven,
and is on the right hand of God;
angels
and authorities
and powers
being made
subject unto him.
Whereas angels,
which are greater
in power
and might,
bring not railing accusation
against them
before the Lord.
And the angels
which kept not
their first estate,
but left
their own habitation,
he hath reserved
in everlasting chains
under darkness
unto the judgment
of the great day.
Yet Michael
the archangel,
when contending
with the devil
he disputed
about the body
of Moses,
durst
not bring
against him a railing accusation,
but said,
The Lord rebuke thee.
And Enoch also,
the seventh
from Adam,
prophesied
of these,
saying,
Behold,
the Lord
cometh with ten thousands of
his saints,
To execute judgment
upon all,
and to convince all
that are ungodly
among them
of all their ungodly deeds
which they
have ungodly committed,
and
of all
their hard speeches
which ungodly sinners
have spoken against him.
The Revelation
of Jesus Christ,
which God
gave unto him,
to shew
unto his servants things
which must shortly come
to pass;
and
he sent
and signified it
by his angel
unto his servant John:
And
I saw
a strong angel
proclaiming
with a loud voice,
Who is worthy
to open the book,
and
to loose the seals
thereof?
And no man
in heaven,
nor in earth,
neither under the earth,
was able
to open the book,
neither to look thereon.
And I
wept much,
because no man
was found worthy
to open
and to read the book,
neither to look thereon.
And
one
of the elders
saith unto me,
Weep not:
behold,
the Lion
of the tribe
of Juda,
the Root
of David,
hath prevailed
to open the book,
and
to loose
the seven seals
thereof.
And I beheld,

lo,
in the midst
of the throne
and of the four beasts,
and in the midst
of the elders,
stood a Lamb as it
had been slain,
having seven horns
and seven eyes,
which are
the seven Spirits
of God
sent forth
into all the earth.
And
he came
and took
the book
out of the right hand
of him that sat
upon the throne.
And
when
he had taken
the book,
the four beasts
and four
and twenty elders
fell down
before the Lamb,
having every one
of them harps,
and golden vials
full of odours,
which are the prayers
of saints.
And
they sung
a new song,
saying,
Thou art worthy
to take the book,
and
to open the seals
thereof:
for thou
wast slain,
and hast redeemed us
to God
by thy blood
out of every kindred,
and tongue,
and people,
and nation;
And hast made us
unto our God kings
and priests:
and
we shall reign
on the earth.
And I beheld,
and I
heard
the voice
of many angels round
about the throne
and the beasts
and the elders:
and the number
of them was
ten thousand times ten thousand,
and thousands of thousands;
Saying
with a loud voice,
Worthy
is
the Lamb
that
was slain
to receive power,
and riches,
and wisdom,
and strength,
and honour,
and glory,
and blessing.
And every creature
which is in heaven,
and on the earth,
and
under the earth,
and such as are
in the sea,
and all
that are in them,
heard
I saying,
Blessing,
and honour,
and glory,
and power,
be unto him that
sitteth upon the throne,
and
unto the Lamb
for ever and ever.
And the four beasts said,
Amen.
And the four
and twenty elders
fell down
and worshipped him
that liveth for ever
and ever.
And
after these things
I saw four angels
standing
on the four
corners
of the earth,
holding
the four
winds
of the earth,
that the wind
should not blow
on the earth,
nor on the sea,
nor
on any tree.
And
I saw
another angel ascending
from the east,
having the seal
of the living God:
and he
cried
with a loud voice
to the four angels,
to whom it
was given
to hurt
the earth
and the sea,
Saying,
Hurt
not the earth,
neither the sea,
nor the trees,
till we
have sealed the servants
of our God
in their foreheads.
And all
the angels
stood round
about the throne,
and
about the elders
and the four beasts,
and fell
before the throne
on their faces,
and worshipped God,
Saying,
Amen:
Blessing,
and glory,
and wisdom,
and thanksgiving,
and honour,
and power,
and might,
be unto our God
for ever and ever.
Amen.
And
one
of the elders answered,
saying unto me,
What
are
these which
are arrayed
in white robes?
and whence came they?
And
I said unto him,
Sir,
thou knowest.
And
he said to me,
These
are
they which
came
out of great tribulation,
and have washed
their robes,
and made them white
in the blood
of the Lamb.
Therefore are
they
before the throne
of God,
and serve him day and night
in his temple:
and he
that
sitteth on the throne
shall dwell among them.
They shall hunger no more,
neither thirst any more;
neither shall
the sun light
on them,
nor any heat.
For the Lamb
which is in the midst
of the throne
shall feed them,
and shall lead them
unto living fountains
of waters:
and God
shall wipe
away all
tears
from their eyes.
And
I saw
the seven angels
which stood
before God;
and to them
were given
seven trumpets.
And another angel
came and
stood
at the altar,
having a golden censer;
and there was given
unto him much incense,
that he
should offer
it with the prayers
of all saints
upon the golden altar
which was before the throne.
And the smoke
of the incense,
which came with the prayers
of the saints,
ascended up
before God
out of the angel's hand.
And the angel
took the censer,
and filled it
with fire
of the altar,
and cast it
into the earth:
and there were voices,
and thunderings,
and lightnings,
and an earthquake.
And the seven angels
which had
the seven trumpets
prepared themselves
to sound.
The first angel sounded,
and there followed
hail
and fire
mingled
with blood,
and
they were cast
upon the earth:
and
the third part
of trees
was burnt up,
and all green grass
was burnt up.
And the second angel sounded,
and as it
were a
great mountain burning
with fire
was cast
into the sea:
and
the third part
of the sea
became blood;
And the third part
of the creatures
which were in the sea,
and had life,
died;
and
the third part
of the ships
were destroyed.
And the third angel sounded,
and there fell
a great star
from heaven,
burning as it
were a lamp,
and it
fell upon the third part
of the rivers,
and
upon the fountains
of waters;
And
the name
of the star
is called Wormwood:
and
the third part
of the waters
became wormwood;
and many men
died
of the waters,
because
they were made bitter.
And the fourth angel sounded,
and
the third part
of the sun
was smitten,
and the third part
of the moon,
and the third part
of the stars;
so as the third part
of them was darkened,
and the day
shone not
for a third part of it,
and the night likewise.
And I beheld,
and heard
an angel
flying
through the midst
of heaven,
saying
with a loud voice,
Woe,
woe,
woe,
to the inhabiters
of the earth
by reason
of the other voices
of the trumpet
of the three angels,
which are yet
to sound!
And the four angels
were loosed,
which were prepared
for an hour,
and a day,
and a month,
and a year,
for to slay
the third part
of men.
And I
saw
another mighty angel
come down
from heaven,
clothed
with a cloud:
and a rainbow
was upon his head,
and his face
was as it
were the sun,
and his feet
as pillars
of fire:
And there was
war in heaven:
Michael
and his angels
fought
against the dragon;
and the dragon
fought
and his angels,
The same
shall drink
of the wine
of the wrath
of God,
which is poured out
without mixture
into the cup
of his indignation;
and
he shall be tormented
with fire
and brimstone
in the presence
of the holy angels,
and
in the presence
of the Lamb:
And
I saw another sign
in heaven,
great
and marvellous,
seven angels
having the seven last plagues;
for in them is filled up
the wrath
of God.
And
after these things
I saw another
angel
come down
from heaven,
having great power;
and the earth
was lightened
with his glory.
And
I fell
at his feet
to worship him.
And
he said unto me,
See
thou do it not:
I am thy fellowservant,
and of thy brethren
that have
the testimony
of Jesus:
worship God:
for the testimony
of Jesus
is the spirit
of prophecy.
And
he said unto me,
These sayings
are faithful
and true:
and the Lord God
of the holy prophets
sent his angel
to shew
unto his servants
the things which
must shortly be done.
And I John
saw these things,
and heard them.
And
when I
had heard
and seen,
I fell down
to worship
before the feet
of the angel
which shewed me
these things.
Then saith
he unto me,
See
thou do it not:
for I
am thy fellowservant,
and of thy brethren
the prophets,
and of them which
keep the sayings
of this book:
worship God.
I Jesus
have sent
mine angel
to testify
unto you
these things
in the churches.
I am the root
and the offspring
of David,
and the bright
and morning star.
